About Al Ghazal
Al Ghazal: A Smart Woody-Spicy with Classic Manners
Al Ghazal by Ard Al Zaafaran is a woody spicy fragrance for men. It takes a traditional route, opening with brightness before settling into drier woods.
Bergamot, lime, lavender, cypress, nutmeg and clove form the top. Geranium, cinnamon, cedar and sandalwood shape the heart, with patchouli and musk providing the base.
The opening is the most sparkling stage. Bergamot and lime offer a neat citrus lift, freshened by lavender and given a green, resin-like backbone by cypress.
Nutmeg and clove lend a dry, aromatic spiciness rather than any sugared warmth. The effect is crisp and well-defined, keeping the citrus from feeling thin.
At the heart, geranium sustains the herbal-aromatic character whilst cinnamon introduces gentle heat. Cedar and sandalwood create a polished, level woody platform.
Patchouli and musk keep the drydown uncluttered. The former adds earthy depth, the latter a soft, laundered smoothness, with a faintly powdery touch from the lavender.
Taken together, it presents as woody, aromatic and citrus-led, moving from fresh spice towards warm spice, with powdery, musky, patchouli, lavender and cinnamon nuances throughout.
It should appeal to those who favour a classic woody-spicy for daytime wear, with citrus and lavender to begin and composed dry woods later. Well suited to admirers of orderly, masculine compositions with no sweet or smoky detours.
Al Ghazal stays true to its brief: spiced citrus freshness, an aromatic and woody centre, then a tidy patchouli and musk finish. A coherent, wearable interpretation of the masculine woody-spicy genre.
