About Al Zahabi
Al Zahabi by LAB 8: An Oriental Woody Fragrance Full of Warmth
Al Zahabi is a unisex offering from LAB 8 in the woody oriental family. It makes an immediate impact: dark berries and herbs open the composition before spices and resins take over.
This is a scent with a generous presence. It develops slowly on the skin, moving from a lively, fruity start to a warm, balsamic finish.
The opening uses blackcurrant, blackberry, orange, rosemary, labdanum and davana. There is a lovely tension between the sweet dark fruit and the more aromatic, slightly green qualities of the herbs.
The middle notes feature celery seed, incense, cinnamon, bay leaf, clove, broom and rose. These give the fragrance a spicy, fragrant heart, with the rose adding just enough softness to keep it smooth.
The base is a dense mix of cistus, guaiac wood, patchouli, ambergris, opoponax, oud, cedar, myrrh, musk and moss. It feels earthy, smoky and rich, with excellent staying power.
The accords are amber, woody, aromatic, warm spicy, fresh spicy, sweet, fruity, balsamic, musky and green. This broad range means the scent can feel quite different depending on the weather and how long it has been worn.
Al Zahabi is at its best in autumn and winter, particularly for evening occasions. The weighty resins and woods need a cooler setting to reveal their full depth without becoming cloying.
This fragrance will appeal to lovers of bold oriental perfumes. If you like incense, oud and balsamic woods, and you prefer unisex scents with a strong identity, Al Zahabi is worth trying.
Al Zahabi is a confident, slow-burning scent from LAB 8. Its blend of fruit, spice and dark woods creates a memorable trail for those who like their fragrance with a real sense of occasion.
