  • It is a perfume that smells very good; what I smell most is coconut, it lasts quite a while, and its trail goes beyond the arm. The only thing is that it is quite expensive, but otherwise I recommend it, better for summer and for the day.

I saw it by chance today, and after the surprises I have been experiencing with Mugler this year, I could not help but try it. I liked it quite a bit because I find it fun, cosy, and summery, though it did not blow my mind. It opens fresh, very much, like refreshing coconut water with a very syrupy pineapple, nothing cloying. Soon its vanilla emerges, and it starts to feel very creamy and sexy with very slight earthy touches. Although it does not smell like sunscreen (big plus) and I prefer other more interesting coconut fragrances, it deserves credit for being very wearable on evenings and nights of these times. If you like beachy coconut and are a lover of festive, summery, and formal aromas, you will love this. And for another plus, although I did not test it on skin, I feel it has good longevity, as I could smell it all day on my dry skin. Its bottle is very beautiful.

Finally got my hands on it! For me, the coconut is quite subtle, but it’s undeniably rich and stays true to the spirit of Angel. It’s one of the most wearable options for summer; on my skin, the pineapple, patchouli, and a hint of vanilla really stand out. The trail is potent at first but softens within the first hour. It lasts for hours on me, and others can still detect it for at least six hours without it being overpowering. If you’re an Angel fan, I’d recommend it, and the bottle is simply gorgeous.

Well, here Mugler is as if it took any summer Escada fragrance and refilled it in an Angel star. It smells neither of Angel nor of Mugler. It smells like a tropical body mist. Unpleasant? No. Rich? Yes. Would you buy it? No. It is neither novel, nor has character, nor fixation, nor trail… the only thing that caught my attention was its bottle, which is indeed divine.

  • Although I like it, Angel Iced Star isn’t my favourite. There are other stars from the brand I prefer. Reading the notes, I thought of a piña colada, but on my skin the pineapple, praline, and patchouli dominate the coconut, especially as it dries down. It’s always subtle, though it varies depending on individual pH. It lacks that liquorish and milky touch to be a proper piña colada. Performance is decent, with moderate longevity and trail, similar to an EDT. It’s fresh, fruity, and holiday-inspired, but it doesn’t break the mould or feel innovative. In summary: not extraordinary, but I appreciate it for those notes of pineapple, praline, and green patchouli. Rating 6/10.

  • While I like it, the truth is that Angel Iced Star does not make me love it. There are other Angel stars I prefer over this version. Reading the notes, I thought it would be a piña colada, and I was surprised that on my skin, the pineapple stands out much more, along with the praline and patchouli, more than the coconut. This note comes out later, in its dry-down, always subtle. It varies from person to person, as the coconut develops differently according to the pH. To be a piña colada, it lacked the liquorish and lactonic touch. Its performance is decent, moderate longevity as an EDT. The trail is moderate; I would not mind wearing it even in hot periods. It is a very fresh, fruity tropical scent, even vacational. It is quite good, I like it, I insist, but it does not break the mould, it is not innovative or unusual. In short: it did not seem extraordinary to me, but it is a scent very much to my taste because I adore pineapple with touches of praline and earthy green airs (patchouli). Rating 6/10.

Agreeing with others, this new Angel star is not innovative at all and resembles a summer Escada perfume more than a Mugler. At first, it smells of piña colada, but after 10 minutes, only strong coconut remains. For summer? Yes, but I recommend it more for evening or an overcast day; the coconut note is quite heavy and can be overwhelming on hot days. It reminds me very much of Yves Rocher’s Coconut Nectar.

  • Anabel_Parfums

Mugler, since it is no longer Thierry Mugler, could perfectly launch new lines with other names and leave Angel with what it has. To summarise (my experience, olfaction, and skin pH): it is a piña colada body mist. To me, it smells of piña colada, period. Nothing more. Being an EDT, one cannot expect more from its longevity and trail: 4 to 6 hours, projecting quite well for the first two, then at very short distances. The bottle is divine, but the habit does not make the monk. It is focused on summer, but on very hot days it can give you a sugar rush. Conclusion: it does not smell bad, but do not categorise it as Angel because Angel is not it. If I were blindfolded and tested it, I would say it is an Escada fruity patchouli or a Victoria’s Secret body mist. I would never consider putting it under Mugler. Never.

  • To begin with, it only shares the name with ‘Angel’, so if you don’t like that DNA, don’t worry. For me, it’s rich, cheerful, totally summery, tropical, and sweet. It’s not innovative, but it remains a good scent. The opening is a piña colada bomb where I perceive more pineapple than coconut. After some time, it mellows into a subtle creamy coconut scent, nothing like sunscreen. I don’t detect the Angel DNA or the typical Mugler patchouli. Performance isn’t the usual standard for the house, but as an EDT, it performs well. It’s not polarising; I believe it’s made to please many. Would I buy it? At the original price, no, it’s not special enough. But I admit I like it. It’s good on scent and performance, but I feel Mugler is gradually losing its edge.

  • To start with, it only has the name ‘ANGEL’, so if you don’t like that DNA, don’t worry. For me, this perfume is incredibly rich, cheerful, totally summery, tropical, and very sweet. It is not innovative at all, true, but it remains a good scent. Its opening is a powerful bomb of a piña colada cocktail, where the pineapple is more noticeable than the coconut. After some time, it settles into a more subtle creamy coconut scent, nothing like typical sunscreen. I don’t find the resemblance to ‘Angel’ or the typical ‘Mugler DNA’ of patchouli. The performance is not like classic Muglers, but it is an EDT and performs well as such. It doesn’t seem polarising; I think it is made to please many. Would I buy it? At the original price, no, it is not special enough. Do I like it? Yes, of course. In summary: it is good in scent and performance, but I feel Mugler is gradually losing its identity, and it saddens me.

  • Angel died with Thierry Mugler! Mugler is not even a shadow of what it used to be. The perfume is not bad; it is rich, sweet, and very novel, but it is not an Angel; it is a new fragrance that only uses the Angel bottle.

  • It is, by far, the most fruity fragrance I have ever smelled. I love it for any summer occasion. The downside is that after 10 minutes, you can’t smell it on yourself due to olfactory fatigue, but if someone comes close, it lasts for about two more hours.

  • I absolutely love this new generation of Mugler, though it’s unfair to carry the name ‘Angel’ if it has nothing to do with the original, except perhaps a touch of patchouli. I tested it with a single drop, and after two hours, what stands out most is that sweet, tropical piña colada; the patchouli has softened almost completely. The coconut is very light, with no sunscreen smell, and the pineapple takes the lead. It reminds me of Escada’s Mango & Fig Cruisier, but this is like a Cruisier in piña colada. The projection is incredible, noticeable at a metre, and the longevity depends on the skin and weather. I liked it so much I already bought the refill. By the way, it smells very much like Escada’s summer editions, which are simple but enjoyable. Could L’Oréal’s plan be to release simple aromas disguised as special ‘Angel’ editions? A single spray projects over a metre and lasts between 3 and 4 hours, then stays close to the skin until the shower (over 8 hours).

  • For now, it’s one of my favourite perfumes, mainly for spring and summer; it’s very fruity, sweet and fresh. Really, when I smell it, it transports me to the beach; I imagine myself sitting on the sand enjoying a delicious coconut and a piña colada, the heat and the sea breeze. I love it because it brings me happiness and tranquillity. It’s very feminine, changing throughout the day, with its opening being what I like most, which is the most fruity part. Without a doubt, I would buy it again.

  • Many people detect a piña colada in this perfume, but I feel it lacks that refreshing touch the ice gives when you drink it. Instead, it smells like a glass left out in the sun, where the ice has melted and the light has warmed it too much. It’s like saying you enjoyed a beer in the height of summer and there’s no point; it simply doesn’t fit.

  • Many people smell a piña colada in this perfume, but I think it lacks that touch of freshness, like when you drink it and the ice gives that refreshing sensation that tastes like heaven in the middle of summer on the beach. In itself, it’s a glass of piña colada at the time, or left in the sun for a few hours, by which time the ice has disappeared and the sunlight has heated it beyond the point of return to enjoy it. And because of that, it doesn’t quite fit for me; it’s like drinking a beer at the time, saying you enjoyed it in the middle of the heat wave is impossible.

  • Today I finally got this fragrance I met last year without buying it… until today. It’s delicious, very pretty, but I find a great similarity among all these annual flankers. Iced Star reminds me quite a bit of Eau Croisière (2019). They’ve swapped the grapefruit and mango from the 2019 version for pineapple and coconut in this 2021 one… a slight change in nuance. Pretty? Yes, it’s very rich and summery. If you like Mugler fragrances, like me, you’ll surely like it, but I have to say, much to my regret, because I’m a huge fan of Mugler’s Angels (today sadly owned by L’Oréal, and if I don’t say it, I’ll explode)… what they’re doing lately is more of the same: “Angel with a different fruity note each year”. It would be good to make these special editions a little more special and not so similar. As for longevity… it’s an EDT. I must be honest and say, with as much regret as it causes me, that the longevity is scarce. And the price of this scarce version is certainly not cheap, especially if you buy it out of season, as it sells out from one year to the next and becomes a collector’s item.

  • I finally acquired this fragrance I’ve known about since last year. It’s delicious and lovely, but I find a great similarity between all these annual releases. Iced Star bears a strong resemblance to Eau Croisière (2019); they’ve simply swapped the grapefruit and mango for pineapple and coconut. A subtle shift in nuance. Lovely, yes, rich and summery. If you like Mugler, you’ll certainly enjoy this, but I must say with regret: lately they seem to do the same thing, meaning ‘Angel with a different fruity note each year’. It would be better if they were more special. As for longevity, it’s an EDT and I must be honest: it’s quite short-lived. And the price isn’t either, especially if you buy it out of season and it sells out quickly, turning it into a collector’s piece.

  • This perfume transports me straight to the beach. A bit hard to get hold of, but it was worth it. It smells like a sweet piña colada: a fruity opening with lots of coconut and sweet pineapple. As it dries down, those notes remain, but the praline and vanilla gain prominence. The patchouli is almost imperceptible on my skin. It’s linear, very fruity and sweet, but not cloying; it’s refreshing. Many expect the Angel DNA, but this doesn’t have it; it could belong to another line. It reminds me of a day at the beach or a holiday in the Caribbean. Trail is medium-high for the first two hours, drops to medium until the fifth hour, and lasts close to the skin for eight hours. Perfect for summer days or hot weather.

  • This perfume transports me to the beach. A bit hard to get, but the wait was worth it. It smells like a sweet piña colada. Its opening is fruity, with lots of coconut and a sweet pineapple. As it dries down, these notes remain, but on my skin, praline and vanilla start to stand out more. I barely feel the patchouli. It’s a linear, very fruity and sweet perfume, not cloying to me, but refreshing. I’ve read that many expect to detect something from Mugler’s traditional Angel, but this doesn’t have the Angel DNA; it could easily belong to another line. It reminds me of a day sitting on the beach, a holiday in the Caribbean. It has a medium-high sillage for the first two hours, then drops to medium until five o’clock and lasts eight hours close to the skin. Perfect for summer days or hot ones.

  • Wow, what it’s like not to smell a perfume on skin. I smelled it and didn’t want to give it a chance because it smelled like mint to me, and sometimes Mugler pulls those stunts. But I wore it because I was gifted a sample, and definitely it’s not mint: it comes out with a very natural pineapple and immediately coconut, which, for obvious reasons, smells like a piña colada (a drink I know too well), although the pineapple stands out over the coconut. Then comes the vanilla, as if they were making a piña colada in a hotel with whipped cream on top, and the Mugler touch in the patchouli can’t be missing, which isn’t strong but is felt. It’s an excellent fruity perfume.

I bought it blind a few days ago because I was surprised to find it in a physical perfumery at a good price. What a lovely summer cocktail to be the first Angel in my collection; I have no regrets!

  • hysteria88

A Malibu cocktail with pineapple. Do I like it? Yes, but this doesn’t deserve the name Mugler. If I were to smell it blind, I’d bet it was an Escada…

  • What a gorgeous perfume for lovers of gourmet sweet scents. It feels edible, as some say, reminiscent of Escada style, but it’s very different: it smells less synthetic and more like an expensive, desirable body mist. It’s such a pleasant summer scent that it screams beach. It’s hard to get but worth every penny; it lasts eight hours on my skin and clothes until washed. It has an incredibly high sillage. Of Mugler’s Angels, this is the one I’ve loved the most.

  • Sadly discontinued, but it smells very similar to Angel Fantasm. This bottle suited that tropical, summery scent much better. It’s a cocktail of coconut milk, pineapple, and a patchouli base that reminds me a bit of the older sibling, Angel EDP. I love it, but I only wear it in summer. It has nothing to do with Croisière de Mango, although both are fruity cocktails ideal for the heat. I really like this summer line from Angel. While it can be compared to Escada for its fruitiness, that touch of patchouli makes it much more special. Plus, the bottles are worthy of collecting.

  • locadelosperfumes76

I tried it and went absolutely mad; I regret not grabbing three more bottles. It was literally a summer madness, like a piña colada in a bottle. If you’ve run out of it, Angel Phantasm has similarities, though it’s not quite as summery, but the resemblance is clear.
