The classic Angel has always let me down; I’ve tried it twice a year for twelve years, and it always smells of burnt rubber. I read reviews hoping to find the magic, but never did. I bought this Angel Liqueur at a good price with a refillable bottle, planning to sell it if I didn’t like it. It arrived yesterday, and with trepidation, I dabbed a tiny bit on my arm. Again, the scent of burnt rubber… okay, I had a lot of work to do and hadn’t washed that area. After forty minutes, a more earthy aroma began to emerge, like cognac, with a projection that filled the room. Another half an hour and I smelled my arm: THE MOST REFINED HONEY, CHOCOLATE, AND COGNAC SCENT I have ever experienced; I almost cried with emotion. Beautiful, fascinating, luxurious. After four hours, the magic faded again; it no longer smells of rubber, but returns to an earthy note I can’t quite identify. I understand the magic lies in the heart notes, and I hope to feel that sensation again.
