Arsenico by V Canto

At first, it smells 90% like Nabeel’s Marble or vice versa, but over time it reveals itself as a unisex scent with a feminine leaning. The dry down is mossy, with juicy pineapple and green apple providing a fresh, masculine touch, accompanied by cedar and benzoin for an elegant vibe suitable for events rather than the gym. The pineapple recalls Nishane’s Hacivat, while the patchouli and birch add earthy woodiness. It’s fruity, with soft wood and balsamic notes, highly enjoyable in all its phases.

A woody forest scent featuring oakmoss and a spectacular pineapple juice. Simply brilliant. Although I initially doubted its performance, it keeps convincing me more as it matures. Ideal for any occasion.

I absolutely love this Arsenic; it’s ideal for spring days between 15 and 25 degrees. It starts incredibly fruity, but after half an hour, it transforms into patchouli, flowers, and soft woods. It’s a ‘controlled’ fragrance that doesn’t project much, instead inviting you to lean in to smell it. I wouldn’t wear it for a party or the next day, but it’s perfect for the afternoon: meeting friends, taking the dog for a walk, or a date. It smells great, is unisex, and suits any age. It lasts around 8 to 9 hours. The downside is the price; unless you catch a discount, it’s not worth it for what it offers. In short, it’s very well made and balanced, but doesn’t stand out in any special way. I’d give it an 8.5.

To those who criticise it for resembling others, I say that perfumery is oversaturated, and it’s impossible not to recall something from the 7,000 perfumes on the market. Yes, Terenzi has similarities, but that’s not criticisable. Anyone claiming it’s a clone of Aventus simply hasn’t smelled Aventus; not everything with pineapple and wood is a clone. Criticising the price of Arsenius while accepting Aventus’s price, despite its poor longevity, is sheer hypocrisy. Behind every perfume lies hard work, and it’s mean to criticise it like this. Does it resemble Aventus? About as much as Hacivat or Cedrat Boise, which is to say, very little.

It doesn’t resemble Aventus, Orión, or Cedrat Boise. If you’re looking for something similar, seek other options. I regretted buying blind, letting myself be swayed by Antonio’s review. If anyone from Mexico is interested, I’m selling it at a good price; I’ve only atomised it four times.

Quite sweet smoked pineapple with an acidic apple touch. The woody base (birch predominates) is slightly piney and resinous, but not green. It feels warm and dense, so for me it’s a feminine unisex. As it fades, the fruit disappears, leaving a classic post-shave cologne aroma (though not as diluted). It’s worth the wait to reach that phase. Although I’d heard of V Canto’s poor performance, this lasted 10-12 hours for me. Moderate sillage; after six hours it becomes intimate, but not skin-scented.
