Descripción

Azzaro Pour Homme L'Eau by Azzaro is an aromatic fougère fragrance for men, launched in 2011. Composed by perfumer Olivier Cresp, it opens with vibrant citrus notes of yuzu, Amalfi lemon and bergamot. The heart reveals herbaceous elegance through lavender and geranium, while the base settles on a warm, woody accord of sandalwood, vetiver, patchouli and musk.

To be honest, I find it difficult to distinguish it from its mother, the reformulated Azzaro Pour Homme; it is identical.

  • It does not resemble the Azzaro Pour Homme, neither the original nor the reformulated version. It smells of lime, something the previous one did not have, without that ‘toxic’ character of the other. It is fresher, lacking the sophistication of the other, yet still pleasant.

  • I do not own the original Azzaro Pour Homme, but I have smelled and tested it. The opening of L’eau is very similar or identical, just softer. Afterwards, it develops its own style in the mid-stage, feeling fresher and more citrusy. The trail and longevity do not compare with the original; it lasts about six hours with a moderate to soft trail. I feel it is designed for men aged 25 to 35: it retains the scent and strength of the original without seeming ‘old man’. Perhaps they did not quite succeed, but if you like Azzaro and dare not use it due to age, this is your option to get used to it or use whenever you wish.

I only smelled it on cardboard and the opening thrilled me with that citrus freshness, thinking it was ideal for summer with that triple aromatic combination. But that impression lasts only a couple of hours, after which it behaves like the Azzaro Pour Homme: softened lavender, similar to YSL’s Rive Gauche. In the dry down, there is soft musk, geranium and sandalwood. It could work as a summery version of the Pour Homme, giving that barbershop lotion sensation.

  • Sometimes you come across fragrances that, without being the eighth wonder, simply deliver and please. This is one of those cases. While it takes its base from the classic Azzaro, it is distinct. From the start, the lime and grapefruit with yuzu sound brilliant. Then lavender takes centre stage: an ambered lavender from its mother, yet softened, as if drowned in iodine notes, geranium, woods… I don’t know, the effect is unique. I see it as a fresh, summery version of the classic, modernised but not a softened clone, and for the most part, they achieved it. Good longevity, moderate trail (stays close to the skin, nothing to complain about if you don’t overapply). Pleasant aroma, citrusy, fresh, summery and, as I’ve noticed, of a feminine appeal. I’d give it a 7.8/10. Postscript: with more projection, I’d give it a higher score.

I must admit it, I bought this fragrance because I could not stop thinking about it since I tried it; it is the ideal perfume for a man, the toned-down aromatic fougère brought alongside summer fragrance. Can you imagine Azzaro pour homme, Van Cleef & Arpels, Quorum, removing the heavy winter exclusivity, adding citrus, but keeping the powdery, mossy, vetiver and woody DNA? That is Azzaro L’eau. A hidden gem. The downside is that its performance also diminishes, although for its price you can reapply mid-day. Scent: 9.5. Longevity: 6 (5 hours). Projection: 7 (1 1/2 powerful). Price: 10. $18.00. Versatility: 10.

Fantastic. I loved it. It smells of fresh masculinity. It is a classic Azzaro Pour Homme as if interpreted by Issey Miyake.

Very good. Fresh, masculine, versatile and with a classic touch. Longevity of about 6 hours on my skin, projecting for the first two. Ideal for spring and summer. More citrusy and fresh than the mother fragrance from which it retains its DNA. Good price. I rate it an 8 out of 10. Greetings to all fragrance lovers.

My mother bought it for me when I was 15, and ten years later I bought it again for the nostalgia of a very fresh and powdery scent. Back then I was not such a fan of citrus scents; I also had a Lacoste Essential of which I was not a fan either, some would say it smelled fresh and clean. Now I am returning to them; I have thought about getting the Lacoste too. Scents that appeal to the masses, but particularly the Azzaro for the time it has been on the market and the similarities to the original as they say, since I have not had the pleasure of smelling the OG. My girlfriend says I smell like her grandfather, yet I will not stop using it and when I finish this one I will go for a third bottle. There are not many perfumes one can boast about regarding quality and price, this being one of those cases. Recommended 8/10.

  • If I had to summarise it in a few words, Azzaro L’EAU is basically the latter part of Azzaro PH charged with water. Classic, elegant and fresh. I have had this perfume for 7 years and I believe it has matured extremely well and smells better every day. Preferably for use in autumn and winter. I am won over by the nostalgic side since Azzaro PH was the last gift I received from my grandfather in the late 90s. An old bottle with white lettering and a metal cap, typical of the 80s, with the inscription ‘Loris Azzaro-Paris’ in two lines on the bottle. Azzaro is an institution, one of the most famous men’s perfumes, which possibly your father or grandfather used.

  • A tremendous Fougère, Azzaro Pour Homme refreshed. The sharp sweetness of anise mixed with citrus is no longer exactly the same and is less impactful for those around you, although it still has weight. It doesn’t last long, but the deals before they discontinued it were wonderful.

Very masculine, imposing yet fresh; I see it as a modernised fougère, very wearable. I think it suits those over 20 years old, perfect for a quiet day or going to work. It feels much more wearable than the original Pour Homme and lasts without issue for 6-7 hours.

  • A good update of the classic with a citrus twist. A little gem, highly recommended at a normal price.

Azzaro Pour Homme L’eau is exactly what its name promises: the classic Azzaro version but washed out. It repeats the notes with an extra touch of bergamot that makes it fresher. It’s a renewal of the original scent, although that modernisation is also its weak point: longevity. It remains a great buy for the price. I am about to buy three bottles right now. Ideal for spring or autumn, perfect as a daily fragrance. I am a big defender of classic scents and Azzaro has managed to stand the test of time with men’s perfumes in a ‘unisex’ world. Great buy for the price. Rating: 7/10.
