  • I tested this fragrance on my skin and will share my thoughts: this is my first review, so please forgive me if I can’t distinguish the notes well. It is a very clean, soapy, and fresh ‘Essence’, but dry—not creamy or fruity. It has nothing to do with the power of the classic 80s version. This ‘Sport’ version maintains the house’s elegance but is more informal and youthful; it’s almost a different scent altogether. At first, it is citrusy with a touch of mandarin, and after about three hours, it leaves a soft aftershave-like base. Ideal for daily wear, light and discreet. Some might find it lacks intensity, but it has good fixative qualities. Although they aren’t comparable, I still think Loewe Pour Homme is the star of the brand.

I really loved Loewe Esencia Sport. I’m entirely in agreement with Baxter, who said almost everything (except that I did feel it wasn’t creamy; it has a different texture). I’ll add two points: 1) Due to the mandarin or shared notes like pepper and amber, it sometimes smells similar to Allure Homme Sport. 2) It is the most docile and versatile fragrance in the range. Sillage and longevity: moderate.

A delight in summer or sport aromas. They aren’t those super-citrusy, childish sports scents nor the serious ones; it’s a mix of both and it works brilliantly, highly recommended. You can feel the pepper and amber, and more than bergamot, it seems to be lime.

  • I begin by stating that Esencia Sport bears no resemblance to the classic ‘Essence’. The fragrance seemed very pleasant, fresh, soft, even tender, yet masculine. I won’t add much, as Baxter has already written a complete review, but being a sport version, it distances itself from the aquatic scents I associate with that term. Although it is lighter than the original, it contains 90s elements with a modern, youthful touch. The ‘but’ is that, just like the original, its longevity and projection were very short on my skin.

  • To start, Esencia Sport has nothing to do with the ‘classic’. The fragrance seemed very pleasant, fresh, soft, and tender, yet masculine. I won’t repeat much as Baxter has already described everything, but although it is a Sport version, it moves away from the aquatic feel I associate with that style; it is certainly lighter than the original and has certain 90s elements with a modern, youthful touch. The ‘but’ is that, like the original, its longevity and projection on my skin were very short.

I agree with all the previous reviews, which almost dissuaded me from writing another. I just want to add something: as a lover of the geranium note handled in a ‘masculine’ way, I love how it appears in this fragrance. Its weak point is the brand’s high prices and today’s general trend: medium to low longevity and projection. Within this family, Esencia is the one I like the most.

I agree with all previous reviews; I almost hesitate to write another. I’ll just add: as a lover of the geranium note handled ‘masculinely’ (I know that’s hyperbole, but to explain myself), I think it’s brilliant how it is presented in this fragrance. Its weak point is the brand’s high prices and the current general trend: medium to low longevity and projection. Within this family (Essence), it is the one I like the most.

  • It seemed to smell like the person wearing it; it doesn’t smell bad, but it gives the impression of wearing accords (I imagine cheap and synthetic ones) that can be detected in other fresh fragrances. A neutral sensation, far from the image of high perfumery that some sell.

  • Dungvasil

It starts strong and concentrated, almost resembling the smell of common soap, then softens to make way for a scent reminiscent of Bulgari Man in the dry down; they are very similar, with only a subtle difference: in this Loewe, there’s a sharper citrus touch. The only perceptible difference is the opening: the Loewe is a concentrated, potent citrus (to the point of being unpleasant), whereas Bulgari is linear, calm, and soft, just like its dry down. I find this Loewe interesting, a good original summer proposal, set apart from typical summer perfumes, although I see it as versatile for all occasions and believe it to be the youthful version for ‘youth’ of the classic Esencia Sport (which I don’t see much).

  • Extremely fresh, almost cold, like those Halls advertisements where polar air slaps you in the face when you put a candy in your mouth. Nothing sweet, almost no fruitiness. Excellent for extending the freshness of a shower, extremely masculine; one of my new favourites. P.S.: very similar to Kenzo Homme Sport; both are fresher variants without the incense found in Bleu de Chanel.

  • Extremely fresh, almost cold, like the polar air from Halls that surprises you, nothing sweet, almost no fruit. Perfect for prolonging the sensation of a shower, very masculine and one of my new favourites. PS: Very similar to Kenzo Homme Sport; both are fresher versions without the incense found in Bleu de Chanel.

  • Esencia Sport opens with unlisted aromatic herbs, well-blended with mild, tamed citrus, lacking the sharp character that I personally love. After five minutes, the protagonist emerges to provide body until its final fade: a geranium with a very marked mentholated facet, creamy, with rose nuances. It doesn’t evolve much beyond becoming slightly sweetly musky. Although floral and creamy, it smells very masculine, like quality shaving creams. The trail and projection are moderate to low, but it surprises with good longevity. The new CK Eternity EDP reminds me of this Loewe a great deal: beautiful fragrances, but they bore me.

  • I’ve had a run of bad luck with ‘sport’ fragrances; I always expect more and they fail to meet my standards. I bought this because people said it was identical to S.Dali Le Roy Soleil, yet with both on my wrist, there’s not a trace of similarity. Who was the little angel that compared them? A nose suffering from a cold, surely. On the plus side, it smells like something classic and powdery, akin to Lomani El Paso. I won’t call it generic, as it has facets reminiscent of Givenchy’s Gentleman Only and Bulgari Man. I’m 100% sticking with Loewe Man Essence, the first bottle with the green cap and gold lid: potent, untamed, a fougère of a wet forest and damp leafy earth.

  • I’m absolutely taken with the citrus opening; it’s super fresh. Throughout the day, it evolves into a floral scent with a barely perceptible hint of pepper. Perfect for everyday wear and casual occasions. It’s not Loewe’s finest, but it earns a solid 7.5.
