  The red version is discontinued (unjustly). Years later, Loewe included it again in a special 40 ml format called ‘Andalusian’ under the same name: Loewe Essence Femme. It reminds me of Calvin Klein’s Eternity for women. They don’t resemble each other at all, but they share that floral magnetism that I love so much in a feminine fragrance. It’s a bath of flowers and musk, with some citrus and a woody touch. It doesn’t resemble anything else, which is why I wanted to get it before they withdrew it completely. Its projection is brutal in the first few hours. What I don’t like is the longevity, which becomes quite poor, less than four hours. If you find any version, get it, but if you don’t like florals with musky notes, don’t.

  To my previous review, I would like to add that: in 2015, the house Loewe brought back a ‘Limited Edition’ of discontinued fragrances and included ‘Essence Femme’. It was sold in an 80 ml bottle with the same formula as the original. Along with L, Gala, Aura, Aire and Agua, it formed the ‘Special Edition’ for the 40th anniversary of the house.

The composition blends ginger and violet leaves, so we know it’s something intense and deep… and of course unforgettable for certain occasions, because over time it becomes a warm scent that I can assure you: it leaves a mark.

  I don’t know what’s going on, but many fragrances I love get discontinued… I must have terrible taste 😅😅😅. For me, it was a special fragrance. I tried it one afternoon by chance, sprayed it on my scarf, and the next day it still smelled. When it was discontinued, I managed to get the special limited edition, but nothing since, what a pity…

  I don’t understand what’s going on; they’re taking away the perfumes I love most and I feel terrible… 😅😅😅 It’s a little treasure to me. I tried it one afternoon, sprayed it on my scarf, and it still smelled the next day. When they delisted it, I managed to grab the limited edition, but there’s nothing left now, what a shame…

  Re-reading the reviews in case I find more information… What a pity they discontinued it; for me, it was one of the best fragrances, with personality and lasting power. As someone said here, it leaves a mark. If anyone knows of a similar scent or dupe, perhaps among Arabic perfumes which tend to have many, please let me know 🙏🙏. The similarity to Miu Miu mentioned in the information seems to have been me, because although they don’t resemble each other, there is a note in the dry-down that reminds me of Essence Femme.

  What memories and what beauty in this bottle! I was lucky enough to find a red glass bottle of the original Eau de Toilette, and thanks to it, I received that familiar embrace of the scent once again, so often smelled on the collars of coats and muslin handkerchiefs of my youth. The downside is that my mind immediately goes to wondering how long the remaining 20 ml will last. Essence Femme is an EDT with a sparkling citrus opening and a dry-down that is floral, sweet, magical and cosy. While other florals can be invasive and brash, this feels present yet soft, easy to wear and enjoy. I don’t understand why they discontinued it. Is it the same as Solo Ella, as some say? I’ll have to try it. Its trail is strong and lasts about eight hours, ideal for a half-day. I love it for daytime and it’s so versatile I’d wear it in any season. If they relaunch it as a collector’s edition, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it. Scent 8.5/10, Longevity 7.5/10, Sillage 8/10, Versatility 8/10, Packaging 7/10. Would I buy it again? Yes.

The pity is thinking about how long those remaining 20ml will last. Essence Femme is an EDT with a sparkling citrus opening and a sweet, magical, and cosy floral dry-down. While other florals are invasive, this one is soft, present, and easy to wear. I don’t understand why they’re taking it off. Is it the same as Solo Ella as they say? I’ll have to try it. Tall sillage, 8 hours of longevity, ideal for daytime. Versatile for any season. If they relaunch it, I’ll buy it without hesitation. Scent 8.5/10, Longevity 7.5/10, Sillage 8/10, Versatility 8/10, Packaging 7/10. Would I buy it again? Yes.

  It was an exquisite, wonderful and unique jewel, a work of art that no longer exists. I searched for years for similar scents or dupes without success, but by chance, through layering, I managed to capture the scent after two hours of drying on my skin. I used Dior’s Poison and Maison Martin Margiela’s When the Rain Stops Replica and I was absolutely delighted.

  Please bring it back. It’s the perfect fragrance for any day. It has an elegant air, nothing heavy, with a delicate touch that doesn’t overwhelm. Wearing it gives me the feeling of having everything under control. It’s mature and, while it doesn’t seek attention, everyone recognises it. Fresh yet embracing.

  Please, bring this perfume back. It’s perfect for everything. It smells elegant, it’s not heavy, delicate, and not overwhelming, very balanced. Wearing it makes me feel in control. It’s mature, though it doesn’t seek to stand out, yet it is recognisable. It’s fresh but it embraces you.
