Very original and magical, it transports you. It’s clean, mineral, fresh, spiced, but also sweet, balsamic, and deep. Very similar to Zagorsk. If you’re curious, try it for 2 or 3 days and experience it for yourself. It’s better than reading reviews online. It’s not judged at first glance; like all good perfumes, it depends on the wearer’s chemistry to complete it.
I don’t usually review test perfumes, but I’ll make an exception. I was keen on this Blue Encens, and since it’s from CdG, I expected quality. The raw materials certainly denote quality. The opening shows incense, cardamom, and cinnamon with ease. It’s a fresh scent, nothing baroque; it transports you to a modernist church, to a candle, to tranquility. The great pity is that the scent is as good as it is volatile. It’s the perfume that has lasted the least on my skin, not even close to the skin. It reaches only 30 minutes, making it disposable for me. I recommend trying it and hoping it’s just my skin; it’s worth smelling its aura.
Spectacular. One of the few perfumes that fall in love with me at first sniff. It’s a metallic, dry incense that gains a green tone thanks to the rosemary, dominating from start to finish. Everything is subtly accented with minor spices. Imagine it like a Loewe 7 where the apple is swapped for the green of rosemary. Performance is moderate: it projects powerfully but settles down quickly. Sillage and longevity are decent, nothing more. It’s not a marvel in terms of complexity or duration, but the blend has completely enchanted me. From a distance, it’s the best in the ‘Blue’ collection, leaving the others in the cold. Essential for incense lovers.
Delicious. Blue Encens is a green, dry, spiced, and clean incense. The incense comes out sharp, white, with a touch of smoke that blends perfectly with the rosemary, lending that springtime freshness. There’s plenty of black pepper, but it doesn’t feel intrusive or artificial like in Blackpepper; here it adds a refreshing, perfectly spiced note. As it dries down, the base is slightly sweet and ambered, without any harshness. I absolutely loved it: ideal for spring or sunny winters. Captivating freshness without using citrus. Longevity and projection are moderate, but the scent is so good it’s worth it. Would I recommend it? Yes, especially if you’re looking for a versatile, gentle, and modern incense. Unisex, though it sounds more masculine to me. Suitable for people in their twenties and up.
