  I can’t believe it doesn’t contain aldehydes, because its opening on my skin is that typical Chanel aldehydic scent. But after 30 minutes, I detect a warm, resinous sandalwood. It’s similar to Samsara, but here the sandalwood dominates rather than the ylang, with less vanilla, resulting in a more woody profile. As a sandalwood fragrance, I prefer this Chanel: it’s more unisex and classy, yet discreet enough for everyday wear. The projection is low, but it lasts 10 hours. I enjoyed it; I’m a huge sandalwood fan, but it didn’t surprise me enough to justify the price. Pleasant: 7/10 Interesting: 7/10 Versatile: 8/10 Original: 6/10

  What a gem, another classic from Les Exclusifs. It smells like Égoïste, and now I see it’s actually its predecessor. I’m not entirely objective; Égoïste is my top pick, and BDI won me over instantly. Its floral heart is exquisite, and that touch of sandalwood or blend makes me forget to envy Samsara’s Mysore. It’s versatile, easy to wear, and very unisex. Warm, oriental, and sometimes bright, without cheap ingredients like standard tonka. For those undecided between the discontinued EDT and this EDP, there’s nothing negative: it’s not loud or annoying. No artifice, just pure, warm Chanel elegance. In my top 10. Highly recommended.
