Dating from 2023, Breezic by Janua is a men's aromatic fougère. It honours the genre's herbal neatness while opening it up with luminous citrus and a breath of sea air.
There is a tidy progression throughout: a zesty, saline, lightly spiced introduction, a floral-aromatic middle, and a dry, earthy foundation of patchouli, moss, vetiver and amber.
The opening brings together grapefruit, black pepper, ginger and marine notes. The grapefruit is juicy and bright, the pepper and ginger lend dry seasoning, and the marine element suggests cool, moist air rather than a sweet blue accord.
At the centre lie geranium, lavender, violet leaf and jasmine. Lavender and geranium supply the familiar well-groomed fougère character, violet leaf deepens the verdancy, and jasmine contributes a soft veil of white flowers.
The base combines patchouli, moss, vetiver and amber. Moss with vetiver gives an earthy, root-like dryness, patchouli lends substance, and amber adds a muted warmth that rounds the green facets.
The impression shifts from fresh, spiced citrus and aromatic herbs towards something more mossy, woody and terrestrial, always kept airy by that marine undertow. It feels suited to daytime, office and milder seasons.
