About Cain
Cain: Dark Leather, Amber and Rain
Created by Daniel Josier, Cain is a scent for women and men that appeared in 2026.
The idea turns on opposition: a spiced, fruity brightness laid over a deep base of leather, dark woods, amber, petrichor and smoke.
At the top are mango, spices, pepper and cardamom. The mango has a ripe juiciness, kept in check by a dry, freshly spiced seasoning.
Pepper lends fizz and cardamom a green, aromatic coolness. Together they stop the fruit from softening and keep the opening lifted.
The middle brings leather and dark woody notes to the fore. The leather feels matte and full, with an animalic undertow supported by dense, dusky woods.
Amber then warms the foundation with a resinous glow. Petrichor introduces a mineral dampness, the smell of soil after rainfall.
Smoke settles last, dry and clinging. The warm-spiced and ambery facets mellow the leather, leaving a cosy yet earthy and tenebrous trail.
For those drawn to full-bodied, animalic leather, dusky woods and ambery, smoky depths, and for wearers seeking a unisex composition with fruity spice against wet earth.
Cain travels from spiced light to tenebrous warmth, closing on leather held between amber, petrichor and smoke.
