  The opening isn’t the best: the first few seconds burn the nose with alcohol, typical of cheaper perfumes, and the citrus is barely noticeable. Then it turns smoky; at first, I think of an ashtray with cigarette butts, but it smells nice and lasts a short while. Afterwards, I imagine coffee beans (it surely contains coffee, even if it’s not listed) and toasted sugar. It stays smoky with a sweetness that grows with the tonka. From here on, the tonka dominates, followed by vetiver, and it closes with that smoky-caramelised note that lingers forever. Sillage and longevity are average, around 7-8 hours. The bottle is pretty, though the label is paper. The box is gorgeous and came with a ribbon. I don’t know the original Vetiver Tonka, but they say it’s a good alternative to Hermès. Rating: 6.5/10. Update: It shines more in the cold than in the heat. With these fresh days, it suits me better and I like it much more. It’s very smoky and warm; I recommend it. Rating: 7/10.

  It’s a stunner. Opens with fresh citrus, but iris and vetiver kick in quickly. As it dries down, it smells of coffee, likely due to the guaiac and tonka bean. Finally, a hint of cocoa. I loved it. The longevity is just about right, but it’s very well made. Ideal for spring and autumn, versatile, and the vetiver prevents it from becoming cloying. Suitable for day and night. Moderate longevity and sillage.
