I understand that the EDP and EDT don’t have the same notes. I had the EDT; when I went to buy it again, the saleswoman didn’t know this and sold me the EDP, and I can feel the difference.
For me, it’s a wardrobe staple since I discovered it by chance back in 2010. It’s my ‘little black dress’, so to speak… When I fancy dressing sexy and elegant all at once, the final note is provided by Crystal Noir. It’s not for everyday wear; it’s for that day when you want to feel mysterious, sexy, and special. On skin, the cardamom, pepper, and amber cling spectacularly, and you can feel a hint of floral. I certainly don’t appreciate the coconut on me, but I prefer it. I love it just as it is; I’ve tried others in this genre and always return to Crystal Noir.
I don’t understand its popularity. It smells very normal and like a closed shop, or an antique dealer.
As Perla says, I also don’t know what season to place this perfume in. It seems dark, with a very marked coconut note, nothing gourmand, though on me it’s not the most prominent note. It has a strong, slightly stinging opening. As it evolves, it becomes creamy. I’d place it on a summer night, but also a winter day or night, or an autumn afternoon. For me, it’s a rare but lovely perfume that I liked from the first day. I realised there is an EDP and an EDT; I thought they were the same from the in-store test, but they aren’t—they are three different things with nothing to do with each other; perhaps the EDT is closer to this. Today I bought the EDP, and it’s a beast in terms of longevity, even after a shower.
I love this perfume! I bought it recently and am only just starting to wear it. When I went to smell it in the perfumery, I took a blotter sample, kept it in my blazer pocket, and it lasted over seven days. Every now and then I’d smell it, and what I loved was the coconut scent—not the typical cheap and sweet kind, but one that was well-balanced, leaning clean, like freshly made fresh coconut milk. It’s a milky perfume that I feel very much. It makes me feel warm, the opposite of fresh, yet clean, like a natural body aroma from warm skin. The trail is potent; people greeting me can smell it, and it lingers on the skin for a very long time.
It is absolutely beautiful. It’s dark, ideal for a night date or winter. On me, it smells strongly of orange blossom and amber, making it alluring. It’s my favourite of the dark perfumes, and even if it runs out, I keep buying it.
I loved this perfume. From its divine presentation and the scent itself, I felt the ginger, orange blossom, and patchouli notes much more. People praised it quite a bit, but I can’t find it here in Peru anymore. Definitely not a youthful scent, but full of personality. I hope it returns.
I thought it would smell better. I don’t detect any coconut; it smells like a men’s perfume, nothing feminine to me, let alone sexy as I’ve seen on social media, with a spicy edge. I didn’t like it. I love sweet, fresh, youthful perfumes; this feels more like something for an older lady. I was led astray by good reviews and a blotter sample.
This is one of my favourites. It has too much personality. I love it; it’s dark and strong, yet sexy and powerful—not for everyone. I will always love it. Honestly, it only suits me from 6 pm onwards; on my skin, the woody, white floral, and warm spicy notes really come to the fore.
I absolutely adored Crystal Noir. I’m not usually a musk person, but this was a delight—superbly balanced with gardenia, coconut, amber, and that milky touch. It felt like a white flower sneaking mischievously into the darkness and enjoying it to the full. Sadly, it’s no longer sold in Peru. I tried the new version; it’s not bad, but it’s not the same as before. What a pity.
I didn’t want to risk buying it blind and ordered decants instead. It doesn’t smell feminine at all, perhaps unisex, but I find it too spicy and more suited to ladies. At least for me, it’s a no, and I’m grateful I smelled it before buying the full bottle.
Initially, bergamot and lemon emerge, giving way to a coconut with gardenia, tonka and praline. A feminine evening fragrance for lovers of sweet new trends. It has a sensual and dark edge from the spices without losing femininity. The dry down is beautiful and addictive. It’s not my style; nowadays sweet perfumes dominate, especially among the young. If you follow my comments, I prefer florals, original and complex. Cristal Noir is far from that, though it does meet current tastes.
I bought it seeking a winter scent; it smells delicious and lasts until the next day, but it doesn’t feel feminine to me, more unisex. I never wore it again; I think it’s for someone with a very strong personality.
I love it. Definitely not for everyone: a strong scent with character, probably due to the spices. They recommend it for evening, but the truth is I wore it during the day in cool weather and it didn’t disappoint; I’ve received compliments.
Strong and dark, with personality. On my skin, it felt exactly like that, though I couldn’t distinguish individual notes; it was a spice blend the whole time. From the moment I applied it until it faded, it smelled the same. A real star.
A creamy coconut, soapy yet elegant, sophisticated and complex (spiced with a floral touch). Ideal for someone over 30 with confidence.
The cap is an absolute abomination, but the perfume smells wonderful.
The best perfume in the world.
Too spicy and lacking charm. It feels like walking into a pantry or kitchen cupboard to clean up… It sounds more masculine than feminine. It went viral, but it’s not worth it. A resounding no.
Pf, this is a GENTLEMAN perfume. Without a doubt one of my favourites, of the best I’ve felt. Elegant, dark, mysterious, sensual, imposing and majestic. It’s not for everyone, I don’t recommend buying blindly. It’s for someone who wants to stand out. In fact it’s quite unisex. I think a man with personality could wear this fragrance very well. It’s for using on cold nights and not overdoing the sprays. For those who dare perhaps they can use it one summer night. I’ve done it and it went well. This perfume managed to get me out of my comfort zone, I never thought I’d fall so in love with a spicy scent. It’s like a mix of spices with a shy coconut peeking out wanting to participate. Longevity, trail and projection excellent. You won’t go unnoticed. I used it at night and the next day I could feel it right up against the skin. Something I noticed interesting, and which I read in other comments, is that after a few hours it smells to me like “dampness” or wet old wood. And I can say yes, it gives me the same feeling but for some strange reason I love that scent it leaves when drying.
Initially, I was a bit apprehensive, but after trying it, I absolutely loved it. Does it sound distinguished to anyone? It’s perfect for home. Smells like coconut/woody with white florals; I understand it might seem soapy in the air trail, but against the skin it shines. In the room, it’s different, yet still beautiful. Reminds me of Natura’s Castanha Frescor (this one is much softer with less projection), but they share an DNA. Stunning. I don’t see it as 100% evening wear; yes for summer, but in the cold it’s super versatile.
This perfume is sweet but clean, it reminds me of the smell of classic Dove shampoo.
Too spicy, I didn’t like it at all, quite masculine.
I have the misfortune of having an underprivileged pH (many will understand: I’ve spent a fortune searching for a night perfume, I’ve tried all the hype and received not a single compliment, I’ve drenched myself in perfume and barely managed to get others to notice it, and you know the frustration that causes). After trying all the techniques to make it last longer, I was about to give up and accept that I’d never be the woman who feels her fragrance when passing through a door, but this perfume CHANGED MY LIFE. Years ago I came across it in a perfumery and loved it, I took a sample and kept it in a notebook. I forgot about it, but every time I opened the drawer, a trace of that little perfume would invade me… so delicious. One or two months later, when I opened the notebook, the sample was still there, it could be smelled, although not as fresh as when first applied, but its bite, its creaminess… could be felt. I loved it. So I saved up and from time to time kept smelling the paper until I could treat myself to it for my birthday last year. Love, love, LOVE. I can’t explain how powerful I feel. It has that spicy opening that stings the nose and sticks in the brain, before unfolding into floral and creamy notes that last forever (the coconut is the protagonist, obviously, but it’s not Hawaiian Tropic coconut that takes you to summer, it’s a sexy, mysterious coconut that makes you want to press your nose against the bottle). Its presence in its trail (whether you like it or not, everyone perceives it, I’ve been stopped in clubs to ask me about it) and the longevity. It’s the only one that stays on my clothes, in my bed, in my seatbelt, for days. Now I’m the one recognised by its scent when I arrive. 10/10 for me.
Smells good but eventually becomes tiring. Better to buy the small size first.
My feeling was strange, because I don’t like coconut. When I tried it and smelled it at 5 seconds, it was a no thanks, I’m not taking it. At 5 minutes I smelled my arm again and my mind flew and I fell in love. It reminded me of the old Babydoll by YSL from the 90s almost 2000. Its stuck and bitter base made me fall in love with this perfume. Excellent longevity.
They gave it to me on paper strips in the shop, the first time I smelled it I definitely didn’t like it, but while walking through the shop I couldn’t help bringing it to my nose to smell it again, I stayed like that for at least 20 minutes and went back to the lady to ask her the name. That happened in October 2024, today, in May 2025, I can say I still keep that paper strip, it has been in my bag and then on my bedside table and I am certain that the smell has not disappeared. With other perfumes the smell on the strips lasts 2 to 3 weeks, but in this case with this perfume the smell is still felt, at least the base notes, a scent that makes you feel warmth and elegance, every time I smell it I feel as if I am in a room with a fireplace lit, with old furniture and books. It’s not a perfume for everyone because it is very heavy and not everyone will like it but in some way it manages to be addictive.
First half-hour: what a weird perfume. It smells to me of defeated acrylic, those I had in my art workshop as a child (surely flooded with it). Obviously, super spicy, I’d say masculine. After half an hour: the coconut appeared! And ups, it vanished again, the blaring spices returned. It doesn’t work balanced for me.
I call it the ‘man-catcher’, haha, it’s super sensual and striking, a dark femininity, almost unisex. I always get compliments wearing it. Note: men love perfumes with a masculine vibe on women: woody, fresh, bordering on unisex, because they smell like themselves and their brains feel at ease. This one fits the description ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).
What a looker, he has everything to succeed. Unique scent, lasts all day, refined and elegant.
I love it; it’s become one of my favourites. It’s dark, strong, creamy, and very sensual, so it’s not easy to wear and you have to be careful or it will overwhelm you. The creamy coconut and the hint of pepper are wonderful. Only for night wear or in the cold.
It’s complex; don’t buy it blindly… It’s dark, striking, warm, and spiced. I’d wear it at night and not in extreme heat. It’s not for daily use; it’s for when you need to give that wow effect.
One of those perfumes that doesn’t get confused with any other, with a roll-out personality for a designer brand. Its presence is noticeable, and you have to know how to wear it so it doesn’t steal the show, as they say. I tried it for the first time in duty-free while travelling: one spray on my wrist that grazed my jacket. I spent the entire round trip, and several more days, smelling of Crystal Noir, without using any of the ones I had packed in my suitcase (I swear it’s not an exaggeration). Its almost solid ‘lactonicity’ (it’s like coconut cheese, more than milk) lived on my nose for weeks. I eventually got tired and sickened by it, but my goodness, what a stinker. What a beautiful, mysterious, and even fun interplay of notes. If Morticia Addams decided to go on a cruise to tropical islands, this would be her fragrance.
I was looking for something for a spring wedding. After reading reviews, I was told it was for any occasion, although most people label it as a ‘clubber’ or ‘seducer’. When I tried it on my skin, the spicy opening notes and the creaminess that follows captivated me so much I bought it almost blindly. I wore it during the day in winter, and my friends said it smelled like an elegant woman, which was exactly what I was looking for as a cold-weather signature. I also wore it one winter night and it was a hit. It’s truly for any occasion. You don’t always have to follow stereotypes; you have to give it your own spin, even though many fragrances are mis-categorised. Regarding the coconut, the notes on Fragrantica are wrong; there is no coconut. If you’re looking for dark coconut, this isn’t for you. It’s spicy and creamy, attention-grabbing, and if you greet someone, they’ll smell it. It’s perfect if you don’t mind being noticed. Sometimes it seems unisex, but once you wear it, you get used to it and appreciate it. I’d like to try the EDT; I tried the Parfum and it’s super sweet; I’d love to have all three to use according to the weather. For now, I can’t let go of my favourite for warm climates, so I’ll keep looking.
I absolutely LOVE this perfume! I’ve tried everything else and still can’t find anything that surpasses it. I like others like Angel Stellar, Pure XS, or Dior Addict (the original), but I ditched Flower Bomb and Victor&Rolf because the reformulation was a disaster; why mess with what works? Returning to Crystal Noir Eau de Parfum (don’t confuse it with the Parfum which has different notes), it’s unique. Once the initial sting fades quickly, the real magic begins. I wish it lasted longer on my skin, but without changing the formula like they did with the Parfum.
Highly overrated for what it actually is. They put it in the ‘dark vibe’ category, but it has no idea; it’s fresh and cloyingly sweet. On my skin, it lasts zero minutes for the price it commands.
I came across this on Pinterest with the ‘dark vibe’ label, and it projects absolutely nothing. I thought I’d like it based on the notes, but I didn’t. I detected neither ginger nor coconut at all. I haven’t added it to my collection.
Another classic from my mother’s collection from the 40s and 50s. I had this at 16 and used it to go out. It smells exactly like the Pachá Clandestine my ex gave me. Both my mother and I love it. It has amber, which is my nightmare, but with the coconut, it creates a harmonious blend: the coconut softens the amber while the latter highlights the creaminess. The trail is both the one I hate most and the one I love most for the heat; it’s magic. It’s a show. It reminds me of The Addams Family. It’s spiced, creamy, and mysterious, ideal for winter here in the Mediterranean. It’s relaxing, not invasive, but people notice. It works well for formal events. I wouldn’t call it coquettish, but it’s perfect for a romantic date. I wore it today and felt super comfortable and connected. I’ll be looking for something similar from a new generation, as both of us like it and it gets me inspired. Since it’s Versace, I think it’s made for a coastal, relaxed lifestyle; with the humidity, the trail activates at 100%. I’ve worn Versace or Moschino in Berlin, which is super dry and continental, and it didn’t last half as long, plus it smelled like vomit, so be careful with that 🧐
I had this high on my radar thanks to social media, but trying it in-store was a total fiasco. I couldn’t detect any ginger, cardamom, peony, or coconut. Everything went wrong; it just doesn’t match that dark image they’re selling. I wouldn’t buy it again.
What a personality this guy has! I made the mistake of splashing it on liberally and nearly gave myself a headache. It’s exquisite and elegant, but you have to use it with care. In my opinion, it’s super complex and enigmatic.
