The L. T. Piver house has been around since 1700, initially crafting perfumes exclusively for the French royal family. The entire packaging exudes class, from the box to the exquisite bottle with its vintage design. Be careful not to be misled by the name CUIR; there is very little leather in reality. The fragrance opens with a brutal citrus blast, dominated by bergamot and mandarin. Within minutes, the honey note enters the scene, growing until it becomes the star by the ninth hour. It projects well and lasts a long time, being a mutant fragrance that doesn’t stay still on the skin but rather journeys. On this journey, you might feel as though you’re travelling without moving from your spot. Pleasant sensations come to mind: a lemon tree, beeswax from artisanal candles, mountain towns where fruits are harvested. All of this is Cuir, a refined fragrance of absolute and subtle beauty, one of those that has stood the test of time, overshadowed by so many graceless creations. Was all the past better? Who knows. For now, I enjoy the present and the possibility of being on this earthly plane.
