I’ve already bought four perfumes from Zara, sold three, and while I liked Rich Leather, it lasted barely a breath, which knocked my confidence; however, I still try them on when shopping. This time I stumbled upon the new D Collection, a trio spelling out DAY, distinct from the A and Y lines. I was surprised because it didn’t smell as synthetic as other Zara scents and reminded me of a fragrance I already own that smells fantastic. After some mental gymnastics to recall which one it was, the memory came back: it was L’Homme by Yves Saint Laurent. Given the price, I didn’t hesitate to buy it. I’ve only worn it a couple of times, but I’d say it’s designer quality, which is great considering the low cost; it lasts about half a day, roughly 4 to 6 hours, and the real difference is that you can reapply it without guilt. As for the original L’Homme, I didn’t buy it due to its poor performance and high price; this Zara version has better longevity and a price point that makes it viable, fully filling the gap in my collection. Yes, it does feel slightly more synthetic, but for the average person who doesn’t analyse too closely, it’s indistinguishable. I’ll keep using it and will edit my review if my opinion changes; for now, I recommend giving it a try because you won’t be disappointed.
