I bought this perfume blind for two reasons: 1- As with all AD fragrances, the perfumer is Ramón Monegal. 2- The dahlia in perfumery is an interpretation by the perfumer, since there is no extraction of absolutes from this flower, given that the flower is practically odourless to the human nose. I was very interested to see how Monegal had interpreted this flower, and his interpretation is an opulent flower, with a bright opening and an almost honeyed amber body. It gives the sensation of a rose without having the body of a rose. It is something between a peony and a rose, I would say. The aroma is sensual, magnetic and deep. The only thing I have to complain about is the longevity, which doesn’t exceed 4 hours. But the rest is magnificent. It smells good; it’s a floral that isn’t cloying. I tried it and it lasted about 4 hours. I found it a little sweetish, and at the end rich vanilla. It reminded me a bit of the soft drink Delawer Punch.
