  Dark Wash has gone unnoticed but it is a rich woody fragrance. It opens with sesame and Egyptian papyrus, then sandalwood enters with aquatic notes that make it lighter and less ‘coffee-like’. It’s a flat fragrance that evolves little, but it has good projection: at 2 hours you can smell him when he moves, unlike many Zara scents that disappear. It lasts between 5 and 8 hours depending on the temperature; I’ve tested it in summer and it performs well, but it’s better in cold weather. The aquatic notes make the sandalwood versatile, not just for cold weather, as it is lighter. In my opinion it suits cold weather better, but in summer evenings it performs quite well because it’s not a potent sandalwood that would overwhelm in the heat.
