It lives up to the name ‘House of Sillage’ in ‘Franglés’: the house of trail. It’s not just trail; it’s impressive longevity and projection. On skin, it lasts more than a day, with over 10 hours of projection, and on clothes, it’s infinite. This Dignified is an oud-saffron combo with vetiver, powerful, even surpassing other beasts such as Interlude. It’s very linear: it starts with a marked vetiver sustained by the oud-saffron; after four hours the vetiver fades and the combo takes centre stage, though the vetiver remains, smokier, without changing further. I love it for that smoky vetiver and that saffron boosted by an oud that doesn’t smell of manure but highlights the saffron, making the oud secondary. I tried it for the intriguing oud-saffron-vetiver blend, being a vetiver lover and enjoying how it mixes with the other notes. As it’s masculine and powerful, I don’t see it for women, nor for shy people or those wanting to go unnoticed, and perhaps not for the young. Anecdote: once I wore it to an outdoor autumn evening party; a friend, with her back to me, kept saying ‘I can smell you coming’ every time I approached, demonstrating the projection all night. Then there’s whether you like it or not, which is personal, but it imposes presence, like a vortex that attracts or repels, creating philias and phobias depending on taste. I know of no other perfume with a similar scent, which makes it unique. As perfume addicts say: ‘less is more’. One pulse on the chest is enough. As for the price, yes, it’s beastly and hard to find cheaper, but if you wait for the right moment and visit the correct website, you can get it for less.
