  • I describe Divine as the alter ego of its predecessor, Decadence. I do not mean as an antagonistic role, but whereas the first represents a conventional gourmand fragrance, the second possesses that spontaneous, overly floral, and extravagant opulence that you either love or hate, with no middle ground to define it. It is truly proven that it is aimed at a public with complex tastes and a great personality, for those who dare to wear it.

It smells absolutely lovely! I can’t quite distinguish the individual notes, but I definitely detect a hint of banana. At first, it feels slightly green, but then it turns sweet and vanilla-like. It lasts and projects for over eight hours, so I’d recommend it.

It smells amazing! I can’t distinguish the notes, but what I detect is a banana scent; yes, banana. At first, it feels slightly green, but then it becomes sweet and vanilla-like. It lasts and projects for over eight hours; I recommend it.

Divine Decadence, as Chrystiane describes so well, is a complex fragrance. In today’s market, dominated by sweeter trends, and given that it is by Marc Jacobs, I was not expecting something like this. I cannot pinpoint whether it is the saffron, the champagne, or the hydrangea, but it has a very defined, singular scent with a very specific taste. From the very first moment, I noticed a strange scent; not unpleasant to my nose, but I find it difficult to wear, especially given current trends. The champagne gives the flowers a precious, vibrant, and opulent tone; it is beautiful, but I fear it will not be appreciated as it should with today’s prevailing styles. It is a lovely perfume that leaves me out of my comfort zone because I cannot recognise its essence in any other, which makes me think it is original. It has a strong presence without being overwhelming, yet it is also light and airy. It stands out from the rest, has a good trail for a while, and offers decent longevity.

  • I purchased it because I saw it heavily discounted. I must admit that while it smells nice, it doesn’t really speak to me, and its longevity is short. Neither a triumph nor a failure, I believe its regular, higher price is not justified.

  • I bought it mainly for its packaging, which caught my eye, and the unusual scent. However, once I applied it to my skin, I was deeply disappointed: it completely fell apart. While it has excellent longevity, it simply doesn’t stay on me at all. I must say it is elegant, full of personality, and a characterful fragrance. It just needs to be worn with care.

  • A combination of saffron, champagne and honeysuckle is what my nose detects most, giving a green perfume sensation, something earthy, but with vanilla, orange blossom and amber it becomes a unique, sparkling and slightly spicy sweet, nothing conventional. You won’t find here the vanilla gourmand formula so in fashion. It’s a unique and unconventional scent. Divine Decadence can be worn in enclosed spaces; it’s exquisite, timeless and all-rounder, which won’t leave anyone indifferent to its projection, with moderate projection and longevity of over 6 hours. It’s worth trying the Decadence range; they are diverse, different from each other, retaining the mother’s DNA but each with its own identity.

Divine decadence, despite your name, you’ve rescued the Marc Jacobs line (known for poor longevity and simple scents) from the abyss. With your sensual aroma, you turn heads, thanks to the vanilla and champagne of course: the saffron and magnolias give you a spark. I agree with Selene, you remind me of some bananas. I applaud your good longevity and trail; you are my favourite flanker of Decadence.

  • What a delightful surprise with Divine Decadence. I’m not usually a fan of Marc Jacobs because their longevity is poor and I feel the whole Daisy line smells the same, but with this one I’ve changed my mind. The longevity is very good and it projects a lot. Forget about how it smells; I don’t sense citrus or floral, I sense fruity, and I agree with Sele, at times it smells like banana. I have it in a decant and without a doubt, I would buy the full bottle.

To me, this is the daytime version of the original DECADENCE. It follows the same line, very similar but not as overwhelming. It remains intense, for women with character, not for young girls. It’s feminine but with lots of attitude. Whoever wears it knows what they want and doesn’t hesitate. It’s a bit more citrusy and softer than the original, so for me, it’s the daily wear from that line. The trail is big but not too much, and it lasts about 8 hours on my skin. I’m SO HAPPY they’ve released this version following the same scent as the original that drives me crazy!!!

Another world within the world of perfume. Rich, potent, sweet but not overpowering. It lasts well and leaves a trail. Nobody goes unnoticed wearing this. On my skin, it smells like hydrangeas, champagne and vanilla. Yes, sometimes there’s a hint of banana, but it’s rich and different in the end.

  • I bought this perfume thinking it would be a much more wearable version of the original Decadence, which I love. I thought I could use it during the day without any problem with the same scent. But how wrong I was; this has nothing to do with the original. I didn’t like anything about it, super sour on my skin and very sharp. I don’t know which note causes this, but I couldn’t handle it. I had to sell it, and now I’ve finally bought the original, although I can only wear it at night.

  • I don’t know why I keep insisting on trying complex perfumes if I can’t enjoy them. I also don’t know why the champagne note smells so strange on me; I’ve tried several and it’s always the same. What do I smell? I looked up the notes to see what it resembles: I smell hydrangea, with very strong saffron, banana sweets, and cut grass. It reminds me of the days Dad was mowing the lawn. Do I like it? No and no. I used it on very hot days and the result was poor. Today I used it at 25 degrees, cloudy and humid, and it’s still bad. I’ll wait for winter to see if the miracle happens there. Otherwise, I need to get rid of it.

  • Marc Jacobs’ Divine Decadence elevated the irreverent spirit of fragrances to a new level of luxury with revolutionary style and design. It’s luminous and sparkling, featuring a radiant emerald hue that captures the good taste and iconic style of Decadence. It radiates beauty and exoticism. For me, it was love at first sight; the bottle shaped like a handbag caught my attention for being so original. Divine Decadence celebrates a new interpretation of a luxury accessory with clear glass and a dazzling emerald tone, similar to the previous one. It’s a sparkling expression of glamour and luxury, with great shine and exuberance. I love it for special occasions; it makes me feel cheerful. With its oriental ingredients, it belongs to the Oriental Floral family for women. The opening features orange blossom and bergamot, an effervescent champagne tone where Italian plum and its sweet notes stand out. Following that intoxicating ecstasy come notes of honeysuckle, gardenia, and hydrangea that add sophistication. Its wonderful dry down features amber, saffron, and vanilla; this intense woody and floral blend ensures it doesn’t go unnoticed. It’s like an interesting cocktail that has become one of my favourites, holding a special place in my collection for being opulent, luminous, with a radiant and spectacular texture. It comes marked as EDP, ‘Eau de Parfum’, which, due to its lower alcohol concentration, delivers a powerful trail and excellent longevity, lasting all day on the skin and more. Out of 10, it gets a 10. I love wearing it at night in any season, for parties and special events; it’s romantic, and my husband is fascinated by it. Women who wear it will feel special thanks to the intensity of the blend. Perfect for those who know what they want, have personality, and are ready to take on the world with clear ideas. Divine Decadence is very feminine. The most wonderful thing is the variety of tones it creates on each person’s pH, achieving a unique and striking effect. Master perfumers Annie Buzantian from Firmenich and Ann Gottlieb are the creators of this masterpiece. Launched in 2016 after months of creation and ingredient revolution, it won the Women’s Fragrance of the Year – Prestige award at the FiFi Awards 2016. It marks a style and way of life that transcends ages, so attractive that anyone who smells it wants to smell more.

A unique scent; when it dries down, it resembles the original Decadence, but has a fresher, spikier opening. It’s softer overall yet remains powerful because it leaves a trail, and after hours, it’s noticeable as you move, lasting longer on the skin despite good longevity. It’s musky, with a sweet and slightly fruity touch. It’s a hard scent to compare, distinct, formal yet versatile.

  • Delicious 💜, it’s a sweeter and less green version of the original. It’s more delicate and wearable. It lasts a long time with a moderate trail. I’m very happy with the purchase and the packaging, especially the 100ml size, which is a bonus. I also bought it at 50% off because, to be fair, it is quite pricey. Still, I recommend it.

  • Divine Decadence, how rich!!! I bought it a couple of weeks after searching for the original Decadence, but here in Chile it is scarce (if anyone knows if it has been discontinued, please comment). When I tested it in store I expected the banana scent and that was exactly what happened (golden liquid bottle and it is an EDP). I don’t know another fragrance with this scent and that is what I love, it makes it delicious and unique, it is one of my favourites. I don’t wear it every day so as not to get bored, but its aroma comes to mind frequently. On my destructive pH it lasts between 4 and 5 hours, which is a lot, so I am happy. Medium sillage. I think it is versatile for any occasion all year round, although in this heat it looks better at night. I love it!

  • It is sweet but different from the sweet perfumes on the market because it smells of banana, a delicious and subtle one. In my opinion, it can be worn all year round, day and night. I inform @ICL that it has indeed been pulled from the market. What a shame.

  • Absolutely love it! I’m not entirely sure how it’s crafted, but once the initial champagne sparkle fades, what remains is a blend of banana, woods, a hint of amber and saffron. Could it be the floral notes creating that distinctive banana accord? On me, the trail is noticeable and lasts around 10 hours on the skin, much longer on clothes. It’s a seductive scent I wear for dinner with my partner. It stands out as original in my collection. Although I hate bottles shaped like everyday objects, such as the shoe from Good Girl or the glass from Pepe Jeans, I adore this one. What a shame they’ve discontinued these gems! Scent 8.5/10, Longevity 10/10, Sillage 8/10, Value for money 8/10, Versatility 6.5/10, Packaging 9/10. Would I buy it again? Yes.

  • I absolutely love it. After the sparkling champagne opening, it smells of banana with woods, amber and saffron; perhaps the flowers create that accord. The trail is notable and lasts about 10 hours on skin and even longer on clothes. It is seductive, ideal for dinner with my partner. It stands out for its originality. Although I hate bottles with everyday shapes like the Good Girl shoe or the Pepe Jeans glass, I adore this one. What a pity they have discontinued it. Scent 8.5/10, Longevity 10/10, Sillage 8/10, Value for money 8/10, Versatility 6.5/10, Packaging 9/10. Would I buy it again? Yes.

  • I stumbled upon this while browsing another site and I was blown away. For @ICL, yes, Decadence is still available on lv.perfumes.

  • Tinaperfumada

I like it if it’s good! Haha, but I prefer its brother, which is a proper perfume. I don’t like the banana aroma much, but regarding longevity it’s excellent and the trail… needless to say. It’s very beautiful, I recommend it.

  • I don’t understand how it is so underestimated and then they stopped manufacturing it. It is truly unique; it doesn’t resemble any other. It smells of warmth, of a confident, independent and sophisticated woman, very sensual. It projects a lot and lasts longer. I admit that no one has ever complimented it, but it is my favourite in the world and in history. I keep a little of the last bottle and treat it like gold. When I’m at home alone, it’s cold, enjoying a good coffee and a moment for myself, I put it on and it’s pure personal enjoyment. It envelops me, comforts me, gives me security and serene joy. Edit: I’ve read that several people perceive a banana or syrup aroma; I don’t notice it at all, but not at all. It’s sweet without being cloying, nothing like fruit punch with sugar or a daiquiri, which are in fashion today. It’s warmer; if we talk about fruit, it’s more like rehydrated and baked prune, ripe and juicy. I don’t know why they perceive it since it’s not listed in the notes, but it serves to give an idea. I suppose it’s the amber, orange blossom, saffron and bergamot notes dancing together in balance along with the champagne. Delicious really. All its notes unite and blend in such a well-achieved and balanced way that they form a new scent, so unique, special and indescribable.

  • No one deserves it less, it’s a treasure! And the worst part is they’ve stopped making it. It smells like a confident, independent, super-sophisticated woman; it’s sensual and projects a certain madness, plus it lasts for hours. No one has praised it to me, but it’s my absolute favourite of all time. I keep the last bottle as if it were gold. When I’m at home, feeling cold, having a coffee and enjoying my time, I put it on and it’s pure happiness. It wraps around me, calms me and brings me joy. Edit: I’ve read that some people smell banana or syrup in it, but I don’t notice it. It’s sweet without being cloying, nothing like fruit punch or a daiquiri. If there’s fruit, it’s more like baked dried plum, ripe and juicy. I don’t know why, but I imagine the amber, orange blossom, saffron and bergamot dancing with champagne. Delicious. All the notes blend into something unique and indescribable.

  • I tried a sample today, but I smell a strong banana/syrup aroma for desserts… it doesn’t convince me entirely. It’s not bad, but it gives me a bit of nausea, I don’t know why, and that although I love banana or anything with that flavour. Haha, I’ll still recommend it because it’s original, for spring or winter but during the day.

  • Has anyone explained to me how long it took me to buy this? I couldn’t find any perfumeries with testers, so I took the plunge based on reviews (thanks to Ori Russo!) and this website. It’s gorgeous, very distinctive, and suits every season and occasion. At first, I didn’t detect the banana; instead, I smelled lots of sweet florals (even though I’m not usually a fan), yet it was an exquisite sweetness. I believe the florals with that particular sweetness create the sensation of banana. If I focus on the florals, I smell flowers; if I concentrate on the banana, I smell banana. It’s beautiful and could easily be my perfume forever. This time I bought the 30ml, but if the opportunity arises, I’d love the 100ml.

It’s exquisite, very particular and adapts to any season or occasion. At first, I didn’t notice the banana, but rather sweet flowers (though I usually don’t like them), an exquisite sweetness. White flowers mixed with vanilla and champagne. Divine. Simply divine. Oh, Marc Jacobs… why did you discontinue the Decadence collection? 😭

  • I picked it up online recently, much cheaper than before, and wore it for my birthday (my self-gift 😉). It has a high trail and wide projection for the first two hours, then softens to become moderate almost by the end, dropping down to a skin scent only for the last 15-20 minutes before fading. The scent is simply wonderful 🥰🥰🥰. It’s impossible to go unnoticed with this fantastic, yet unfortunately discontinued perfume; a true tragedy. On my skin, it opens with that honeysuckle note, sweet, slightly green and fresh, which can be mistaken for a “banana smell” 🍌; this accord is there all the time, only varying in intensity. Gradually, the effervescent champagne note mixed with orange blossom enters, adding elegance, followed by the delicious bergamot that tames the alcohol of the champagne, making it fresher, happier and more festive. Then, step by step, it gives way to a floral ensemble without losing elegance: a wonderful gardenia and shy hydrangea wrapped in a veil of vanilla. As it dries down, calm arrives with an amber embraced by saffron, but without abandoning the golden touch of vanilla. It’s elegant and party-ready at the same time, jovial yet mature; not for a pink twenty-something, but for a young lady seeking a balance between elegant sobriety and extroverted joy.

What a beautiful perfume!!! The Marc Jacobs house has its own DNA. Some people can’t handle them or hate them. Here, I identify that little banana scent that we find years later in Perfect Intense. To me, it smells vanilla-like, fresh but sweet. Its dry-down is the banana 🍌. As for versatility, I skip that rule for all perfumes: I wear them when I feel like it; I don’t think about whether they match my clothes, that would be the height of absurdity 😆. It doesn’t matter to me if it’s winter or summer; that’s where the number of sprays comes into play. It’s quite wearable, it doesn’t overwhelm or fumigate anyone. Anyway, if I think of anything else, I’ll edit. Get yourself one that’s still available on Vinted.

What a beautiful scent! Marc Jacobs House has its own distinct DNA. Some people can’t stand their fragrances, but in this one, I can identify that little banana note that years later I found in Perfect Intense. To me, it smells vanilla with a touch of freshness yet sweetness all at once. Its dry-down is pure banana 🍌. As for versatility, I skip that topic with all perfumes; I wear them whenever I fancy, I don’t bother thinking if they match my outfit, that would be the height of absurdity 😆. It doesn’t matter if it’s winter or summer, you just play with the number of sprays. It’s quite wearable, it doesn’t overwhelm or fog anyone up. Anyway, if I think of anything else I’ll edit. • I didn’t like it at all; I couldn’t stand the florals. I detected a scent of yellow flowers; I’m not sure if it’s the honeysuckle. When I tried the Perfect Intense, the same thing happened to me; I sensed a similar DNA along with artificial banana. It is certainly a bomb in terms of power and projection, lasting about six hours.

  • For me, it was a disaster; I simply can’t stand florals. It smells of yellow flowers, I’m not sure if it’s the honeysuckle. The same thing happened with Perfect Intense; I sensed a similar DNA with that artificial banana note. It’s a bomb in terms of potency and projection, lasting around six hours.

  • Bought it blindly based on the good reviews. At first, it didn’t convince me at all, but I gave it another chance and now it’s my favourite. I wore it to the office and loved how it turned out that spring morning; I received so many compliments, and honestly, it ended up genuinely pleasing me.
