I dislike its sharp citrus opening because it’s sour rather than sweet. As the acidity fades, fresh green pear and many creamy white flowers emerge, like a floral body lotion with a faint fresh fruity hint and just a touch of herbal notes. In the dry down, I detect an almost imperceptible raspberry note that is sweet and slightly powdery; this is the only thing I like about this perfume. It is a very soft fragrance that reminds me of a mother figure dressed in white and linen, a kind of silent luxury without personality. I find it utterly boring. I would recommend it to someone who likes fresh floral cream scents, zero sweetness, and lives in places with stifling, humid summers. It has moderate longevity, around 4 hours, but always stays close to the skin.
It is a wonderful, simple, and cheerful scent that is refreshing yet remains special and elegant. I detect an undeclared note of coconut almost at the outset, sweet and discreet, which slowly transforms into something slightly acidic over minutes; perhaps it is a subtle shadow of the raspberry that appears later. I also sense some ivy trailing softly behind the other notes without overpowering them, carrying those delicate white flowers with it. Truly a marvellous fragrance. I am smitten.
I don’t like its sharp, sour citrus opening. As the acid fades, it smells of fresh green pear and creamy white flowers, like a soft floral lotion with a herbal touch. In the dry-down, I sense an almost imperceptible, powdery raspberry, the only thing I like. It’s very soft; it reminds me of a silent, luxurious, personality-less mother figure. I find it boring; I’d recommend it to anyone seeking a fresh floral cream scent, zero sweetness, for stifling summers. Medium longevity, about 4 hours on skin.
I have just received this perfume. To be honest, I wanted it because I had never tried any from this brand before, and the packaging seemed stunning. Did the scent kill me? Obviously, it is not what I expected, and if it were based on the scent alone, I wouldn’t buy it, but because these are not scents I would choose. I prefer sweeter ones, and this is very subtle from that perspective. It gives a freshly showered, soapy, soft sensation, and I don’t know how long it will last as I haven’t tested the longevity yet. It is extremely green; although it seems more floral, the ivy is very noticeable, and with the pear, that note stands out even more. I am not regretting the purchase, but I know it will be hard to finish using…
I bought it blindly during a super mega sale. I let myself be swept away by the reviews, comments, and fell for the temptation. Eager to try it, wanting to know it (typical of blind buys). As soon as I put it on, I felt a green, sweet, fruity scent: it must be due to the blackcurrants and raspberries. Green notes: ivy, magnolia, jasmine, lilies. From time to time, I sense an artificial aroma; so far, it doesn’t remind me of any perfume; it is unique. “Love it or hate it.” It is not for everyone. Is it like its siblings? No, not at all; it steps completely out of the line. I recommend it for Spring/Summer; it is super fresh, versatile, fruity, and green. It lasts a minimum of 8 hours with moderate sillage. If you like these green, fruity, sweet aromas, this Eau So Decadence is for you. The packaging is beautiful.
Just arrived and I wanted to try the brand for the packaging, which is brilliant. But the scent wasn’t what I expected; it’s not sweet notes, but very subtle. It gives a freshly showered, soapy and soft impression. I don’t know how long it will last yet. It’s super green; the ivy and pear really stand out. I’m not regretting it, but I know it will be hard to finish.
I remember years ago when Decadence first came out, I tried it in a perfumery and hated it outright. I couldn’t stand it. As it was discontinued, I couldn’t smell the classic again and didn’t understand the fuss. I’d never smelled this version before and saw it at an excellent price, so I ordered it blind. I expected nothing good; I thought I’d hate it and the bottle would just end up as decoration, but what a mistake! In my opinion, it differs completely from the classic (as far as I remember), it’s fresh, floral with a just-right sweet base. I wore it in the morning and at 6 hours I could still smell it. Today it’s 25 degrees with a breeze, the ideal temperature. Every time my hair moves, I feel it emanating from my pores and pleasing my nose. It’s a caress to the heart. I’m thinking of buying a backup. If you like fresh floral scents with a slight sweetness, this will conquer you. I can’t recall one that resembles it. I miss the lilies, magnolia and ivy. It’s a lovely fresh scent, not one that makes you feel like wet grass or in a swamp, haha. So glad I found you, So Decadent.
I remember that a few years ago, when Decadence first launched, I smelled it in a perfumery and detested it. Just like that. I couldn’t tolerate it. My nose was different, my tastes too. Unfortunately, as it was discontinued, I couldn’t smell the classic again and couldn’t understand why so much love was given to that fragrance. I had never heard of this version and saw it at an excellent price, so I decided to buy it blindly. I didn’t expect anything good; sincerely, I thought I would detest it and the bottle would end up as mere decoration, but what a thing! In my opinion, it differs completely from the classic (according to my olfactory memory); it is fresh, floral with a sweet base (just the right point). I put it on in the morning, and after 6 hours, I can still smell it. Today is a warm day at 25 degrees with a light breeze. I think it is the ideal temperature to enjoy it. Every time my hair moves, I feel the perfume sprouting from my pores, delighting my sense of smell. It is a caress to the heart. I am seriously thinking about buying a backup… that says it all. If you like fresh, slightly sweet floral perfumes, this perfume will undoubtedly conquer you. I don’t recall any perfume that resembles it enough to give an idea of “what it smells like.” I will simply say that I strongly detect lilies, magnolia, and ivy. But it is a lovely fresh scent, not one of those that make you feel like wet grass or a swampy lake, haha. Anyway, happy to have found So Decadent!
Definitely, no fragrance is like it; it is so original, fruity but an elegant fruit, versatile; you can wear it day or night, although I prefer to wear it at night, as it makes me feel elegant. The bottle is a beauty; I love its bottle. Honestly, it is in my top 5 for longevity and has moderate to high sillage. I would buy it a thousand times over.
I just acquired it after searching for a long time. In reality, I was looking for the original Decadence but found this jewel; where has it been all my life?? A fruity and fresh scent, nothing overwhelming, creamy; it smells like banana to me. It is a fruity fragrance like no other; it has become my favourite of all time. It is a pity that this beauty has been discontinued.
A green floral with a creamy touch; I relate it to Gucci Bloom, but much more wearable, fresher; it is a delight to wear. Its opening is green with a fruity point, without distinguishing whether it is the pear, raspberry, or blackcurrant; this fruity scent mixed with fresh leaves (must be the ivy) is almost immediately enveloped by the lilies of the valley. I love it. It has very good longevity for being a softer version of Decadence; in my experience, it lasts between 7 and 8 hours with a soft projection. The scent is very elegant; I would not pigeonhole it into a single age range.
This EDT is the one I have used most this Summer 2020/2021. It is so versatile, refreshing but not citrusy; rather, its exquisite green notes of ivy and lily of the valley stand out. It is sweet but not cloying; it is the natural sweetness of raspberry, pear, and blackcurrant combined with the flowers, amber, and cashmere which give it base and unity. I recommend it and have already bought a refill since I found it at an excellent price. Its packaging is exquisite.
I bought it blindly during a super promotion; with so many good reviews and the description, I was encouraged. But as soon as I put it on, I only smell alcohol, and then it lingers with a cheap perfume scent that I cannot stand. The bottle is fantastic, the box as it comes, a luxury. But to me, it smells cheap.
I bought it blindly on a promo with good reviews, but as soon as I wear it, it smells of alcohol and then cheap perfume I can’t stand. The bottle and box are luxurious, but on my skin it smells cheap 😔.
Intoxicating! Fresh, green and transparent, it transports me straight to an orchard. Casual, chic and incredibly versatile. The green notes take over in winter, while the fruity ones dominate in summer. Lasts 5-6 hours on my skin, perfect for an EDT. Highly recommended!
Wonderful! Smells like a garden full of fruit trees, flowers and green leaves. I love it.
MARVELOUS! It’s like being in an orchard with fruit trees, flowers and green leaves. I love it.
Fresh opening, but on my skin it smells like herbal detergent or soap, not clean. Less projection than the original or Divine (which are EDPs) because this is an EDT. I feel it’s very different from the classic; same style but a completely different scent.
One word: BREATHTAKING. Not a daily wear, but when I use it, I feel special, elegant and happy. Perfect for night outs with friends or a partner. The longevity is top-notch. This is the only one from the line I’ve enjoyed; the others have a note I simply can’t stand. This Decadence is a gem; I recommend it.
One word: mind-blowing. I don’t wear it all the time as it’s not for every occasion, but when I do, I feel special, different, elegant and cheerful. Ideal for nights out with friends or late afternoon dates. It has great longevity and staying power. This is the only one from this line I’ve liked; the others have a charge I can’t stand. This Decadence is a gem. I recommend it!
Fascinating, delirious, enchanting. I feel like I’m walking through a valley in a white dress with a crown of green branches and tiny white flowers, surrounded by pines and fresh grass. Oh dear, I’m smitten!
Beautiful fragrance! The ivy makes it interesting and pleasant, perfect for day or night and any season. Marc Jacobs Eau So Decadent offers a new way to enjoy: a sumptuous floral with delicious tea, juicy fruits and radiant florals creating a tempting feminine scent, while the white amber adds a luxurious touch. It dries down soft and luminous, wonderful, feminine, free and delicious. I love the bottle!
What a delightful discovery! It doesn’t seem complex, giving off a chic and casual vibe for any moment. It’s versatile and modern, even indoors, with tremendous longevity: more than 12 hours on skin and could last days on clothes. Up close it’s slightly smoky with the unmistakable DNA of the Decadence EDP, but its trail is totally fresh thanks to the valley lily, juicy pear and blackcurrants with raspberries, a sweet and acidic scent that’s very pleasant. I’m hooked. I guarantee anyone will like it, even unisex.
