Sensuous Noir by Estée Lauder is a woody oriental fragrance for women. Launched in 2010, this composition was created by perfumer Annie Buzantian. Its olfactive structure unfolds with spices, pepper, rose and jasmine in the top notes; pine, patchouli, guaiac wood and lily of the valley in the heart; and amber, benzoin, vanilla and honey in the base.

They gave it to me for $20, a 30ml bottle containing 25ml of life. I bought it out of curiosity, knowing it was discontinued and that on eBay it’s worth around $300, so I thought it was a gem. And oh my goodness, what a delight! What a wonderful scent; I’ll treasure every drop. It opens spicy and sharp, fades quickly, and then comes the cosy, sweet base where you can detect the pine. What a treat. It’s for mild and cold climates, nothing for summer.
