The bottle is gorgeous and the notes sound incredible; I’m itching to try it. Could it be Oriental Vanilla?

  • At first it seems identical to its mother, The Only One, but over time you notice the difference: this has a fruity and woody touch, less synthetic. Personally, I like it less.

  • Delightful, very pleasant and a tremendous surprise upon trying it. Fruity, with rose water, vanilla, and seductive. Sweet and elegant. What I like is that it evolves, although it can also be worn casually; I see it more for the afternoon and fresh weather. The only drawback is that after two hours it’s skin scent, with good sillage and notes. I detect something light of cherry liqueur with vanilla. Ch. Queen seems to be trying to copy that fruity vanilla in a mediocre way and fails, because it has nothing to do with this, except for the price. The Ch. is too synthetic. It’s well worth buying; I gave it to an aunt and she liked it very much; a friend of 26 bought it and uff, how rich it is.

  • I like it, it’s fruity and very similar to Misteriosa by Salvatore Ferragamo. It’s almost the same, both are good, I like both.

What a delicious fragrance! I’ve just got it and it’s unique, unlike anything else, not even the first The Only One that I also own and adore. I can’t decide which of the two I prefer; both have a coffee scent but different: the first is caramel and vanilla (more gourmand), while this one is red fruits and roses. Both are wonderful, well done D&G! I feel it suits any season and will be loved by those who adore sweet scents.

What a delicious fragrance! I’ve just acquired it and it’s unique, it doesn’t resemble anything, not even the first The Only One that I also have and love. I don’t know which of the two I like more; both have a coffee aroma but with a different touch: the first is caramel and vanilla, more gourmand, while this one is red berries and roses. Marvelous both, well done to the D&G house. I feel it suits any season and will be loved by those who enjoy sweet scents.

  • Very random, very much like all the current ones. It’s not bad, but it has what they all have: coffee, fruits, and patchouli. The longevity on my skin is very scarce. I don’t consider it bad, but I think the coffee and red berries don’t quite gel; they don’t form a different scent but are smelled separately, which confuses me a bit. I respect those who like it, but I think even in current trends there are better things.

  • I was gifted this perfume for my birthday, I archived it as something lost, and today I put it on again and note its exquisite quality. It’s sweet and the scent lasts a long time. I wear a different one each day and today it was this ‘forgotten’ one. Compared with Jadore, Rive Gauche or Le Vie Belle, the Only One 2 lasts longer and penetrates the skin more.

The fragrance is weak. I’m referring to a decant I have to try it, and the truth is I’m glad I didn’t buy it; nothing novel, there are better ones with a coffee note and they’re cheaper.

The fragrance is a bit weak; I refer to a decant I have to try it, and the truth is I’d rather not have bought it. Nothing novel, there are better ones with a coffee note and more affordable.

  • Yes, that wonderful vanilla is noticeable! Sometimes they don’t declare everything it contains. It lasts forever, over 10 hours in perfect condition. The projection is sky-high. The best part is that you like what you wear; if others like it, even better. A tip: buy and store it a year before using. Like fine wine, after storing it properly, it smells much better. I’ve had this habit for six years and a great perfumer confirmed it’s a super success. Always keep it in a dark place, away from sunlight, humidity, and extreme temperatures. Enjoy smelling what you fancy most!

  • Yes, yes! You can smell the wonderful vanilla, because thousands of times they don’t declare all the notes. Longevity: eternal, over 10 hours in perfect conditions. Projection: mind-blowing. A thousand compliments, but the lovely thing is that you enjoy what you wear; if others like it, so much the better. A tip: buy and store it for a year before using it. Like any good wine, after storing it properly, it tastes better. The same goes with fragrances; they smell much better and give their best. I’ve had this habit for 6 years and I’m grateful to have practised it. A great perfumer told me my idea is a super must. Something new is learned every day from this fascinating world. P.S.: Always store in a dark place, away from sunlight, humidity, and extreme temperatures to avoid altering the essences. Good life to all and may you always be able to smell whatever you fancy.

  • Black Opium with blackberry and caramel. I think the blackberry interferes with the amber and to my nose it smells like rum. I detect the violet, coffee, patchouli, and tonka, but not the pear, berries, or rose. There’s a fixed vanilla base here; the dry down is very sweet, almost sticky, and twice as potent as the original. It’s as if you’re layering Black Opium over The Only One, with the Opium taking the lead.

  • It’s a fragrance that conveys quality and is pretty and sweet, though it doesn’t stand out for being original. It reminds me very much of La nuit trésor and Black Opium, but it’s equally enjoyable.

I wish Fragrantica had a ‘Makes me laugh’ button. There are perfumes that shouldn’t be taken seriously. This is one: another mystery my mum buys without liking them. The oxymoron of the name ‘The Only One 2’ is funny. It smells exactly like La Vie Est Belle Intensément: red fruits, dusty heart, and ambered base. I sense a bit of The Only One or Black Opium, but it’s pure LVEB. Just like Britney’s Sunset Fantasy. I should gift my mum a Britney perfume to justify her purchases of these oddities. She says it’s sweet and weird, but she uses it as if nothing. Plus, she swapped it at the market for a Moschino, so she gave her money to D&G, which is quite bad. My mum’s hilarious stories continue.

  • A great forgotten and underestimated Only One. On my skin, red fruits and rose stand out, becoming creamy with hours if the weather is humid. If it’s dry, a more powdery accord emerges, surely due to the violet. It also feels a bit boozy. It smells less synthetic to me than the caramel of the original. The name seems fun.

  • It’s the perfume for a romantic dinner. It reminds me of Black Opium and the current Red Door version. Very interesting. True that ‘The Only One 2’ sounds contradictory, but it’s an insignificant detail. I wear it to go out; the bottle stays at home.

  • Dama Incognita

I approached the counter to test it because its aroma caught me from a distance. In the air, I sensed very sweet red fruits and a floral bouquet. I tested it on skin and initially it was fine, but despite the potency, it disappeared in under 4 hours. I barely noticed anything fruity up close, perhaps freesia and rose, never the coffee or violet. It’s a pity that performance, as I had genuinely liked it.

  • Same DNA as The Only One, but better. As soon as you smell it, you realise it’s a flanker, and this version I like more. I still sense something synthetic that doesn’t fully convince me, but it’s not the fake caramel bomb of the original; here, the fragrance is enjoyed more. The more I smell it, the more I’m convinced. You smell the base notes strongly with the red fruit opening, a lovely and homogeneous mix, a fresher sweet. I’m not sure if it’s truly mine; I still feel it’s synthetic, but it captivates me. Much more dynamic and interesting than the original, worth it.

This scent wasn’t for me; as soon as it arrived in my collection, it left again. On my skin, it boils down to very sweet wild red fruits. When applied to skin, it felt very synthetic. Generally, I can identify the composition of fragrances; this one, despite having various ingredients, I only perceived blackberries and very sweet red berries. Not a trace of ‘red rose, coffee, and violet’.

  • I fell in love at first sniff. I own The Only One and it’s one of my top three; I love it, the iris and caramel really stand out. I bought The Only One 2 hoping for more, but I was disappointed when I applied it; it retains the DNA of the first. In the first 15 minutes, the fruity chords are noticeable, the blackberry with a spicy touch; as it dries down, the rose, coffee, and violets predominate, just as described, all perfectly balanced. I noticed a slight vanilla touch and in the base the tonka bean really shines. It gives a dark, mysterious, and seductive vibe, 100% for the night, it simply fascinates me.

  • I bought it blindly, knowing I would love it. But upon opening and giving the first splash, I thought: ‘I already have this’. It’s almost identical to La Nuit Tresor Fleur de Nuit. The worst part is it lasts just as little as the Lancome one. It doesn’t reach 3 hours even if applied generously.

  • I fell in love at first sniff. I own The Only One and it’s in my top 3; I adore the iris and caramel. I bought No. 2 seeking more, but I ended up going back. It wasn’t for me, so it came and went. On my skin, they are very sweet wild red fruits. I felt it was synthetic. Having learned to identify scents, here, despite the ingredients, I only perceived blackberries and sweet berries due to the patchouli and tonka bean. I found no trace of ‘red rose, coffee, and violet’.

Super sweet aroma, a potent toothpick. Although I love toothpicks, I sense praline here, perhaps due to the mix of red fruits and tonka bean, similar to LVEB. The opening is a hyper-sweet rose jam, but as it dries down, that overwhelming praline emerges. Rich, very similar to LVEB; I don’t detect coffee. Only for cold climates where your nose is red and fingers are numb; that’s when it shines. I believe it’s being discontinued, so buy a bottle before prices rise or it vanishes like Dolce Garden did.

  • DaviniaTolkien

I hate the trolls who claim it smells like X or Y just because of the red bottle. Does it resemble LNT Intense or Scarlet Poppy due to the colour? It’s a total farce, just like comparing my Aura by Mugler to the Tous bear because they’re both green and faceted. This undermines the website’s credibility.
