Descripción

Erba Pura by Xerjoff is an oriental fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2019, this composition was created by Christian Carbonnel and Laura Santander. The top notes unfold the freshness of Sicilian orange, Calabrian bergamot, and Sicilian lemon; the floral and fruity heart reveals a palette of fruits; while the base notes land on the warmth of white musk, Madagascar vanilla, and amber.

  • A perfume to love or hate. I like it; quite fruity and exotic. After 3-4 hours it starts to become a bit tiring, intrusive due to its strength. It lingers on the skin until the next day and soaks into clothes even after washing.

  • It’s an undeniably quality perfume, but it can be intrusive and linear, becoming tiring quickly. I’ve tried several imitations like Bharara King, Zara Tender Amber, or Amber Oud Gold Edition, and even one unlisted one called Territoire Noire; there are surely more. I consider it extremely overexposed. Upon trying it, I did sense something different regarding the quality, but it doesn’t justify the price. The imitations capture the same nuances for a fraction of the cost. I don’t see it for summer or spring; it’s totally nocturnal and winter-appropriate. It has an impressive potency; it once cloyed me and generated repulsion after smelling it for so long. It’s literally made to stand out. On my skin, it projected with just one application. I also tested it on blotting paper and it still projected strongly when kept in the wardrobe; I could smell it from the other end of the room. I still think it’s unisex, so don’t buy blindly. Don’t let reviews convince you that it is. The scent is very similar to the ones mentioned; perhaps the fruity notes in the opening have slightly better quality, but not by much. All fragrances with this DNA are linear and don’t evolve. Is it worth it? In my opinion, no. There are alternatives that cost a fraction and offer the same experience. For a little more quality and exorbitant longevity, I wouldn’t pay nearly fifteen times more.

  • I love it. It’s a spring-like floral that projects and lasts, different from anything else. I think it’s very good, which explains all the hype. It’s perfect for dates for me. Just don’t overdo the sprays.

  • I don’t like it. It’s bland, insultingly simple for what it costs. Besides, it’s very ‘marilolis’, like an old lady putting cologne on her rich granddaughter with pigtails. This isn’t for men unless you want to dress up as a drag queen and dance on a speaker with platform shoes. You can smell its DNA in thousands of cheap dupes from rough neighbourhoods who think they’re elegant because they’re expensive and end up making a fool of themselves smelling like Carmen the Candy Girl. It’s a rip-off to market it as unisex. Xerjoff has lost its way. To each their own; if you like smelling like a child sucking on childish candies, go ahead, do it yourself.

I hate the Erba Pura DNA; it’s horrible and synthetic, totally hyped… there are a thousand better options.

  • I tried it for the notes and reviews but was completely disappointed. From the very first spray, I knew it wasn’t for me: too potent and unpleasant. My daughter and I detected a urine-like scent and a very granny-like musk.

  • Sofigm594

At times I sense a bitter, herbal citrus that makes it feel more masculine, and other times it feels creamy and sweet, more feminine. I prefer the latter. In the dry-down, it becomes much creamier and sweeter.

  • Zekrom0770

It’s incredible, sweet and fruity; the first time it drove me wild, there was nothing like it. Probably due to the hype, it’s suffering the same fate as Paco Rabanne’s One Million (so good it’s everywhere, *cof* *cof* Amber Oud Gold Edition *cof*, and people get tired of it). Given how hyped it is, I’d rate it 9/10. It lasts long enough and is utterly delicious.

  • I absolutely loved it at first and used it constantly, but suddenly a molecule shared with Female Halloween (which I hate) took over my nose, making it hard to continue wearing it. What a pity for this gem!

  • I don’t know how a perfume like this can last so long; I’ve been smelling it on my wrist all day. The opening is enchanting, very fresh with a sweet touch, then the scent doesn’t progress much, so if you like the opening, it’s a safe buy. I see it as very versatile in terms of age, occasion, and weather. For me, it’s a 9.5/10, only because I liked the Erba Gold more.

  • AntaresAres

I love the opening of this perfume, which is a deep, dense, brooding citrus, almost woody. Then it descends into a genuine inferno of tropical gummies and… meh-requetemeh. The dry-down isn’t anything special, but it improves with that animalic, dark vanilla, something powdery. I’m particularly bothered by its fruity heart; those types of strident, sticky notes aren’t for me. In summary, it’s a juice that doesn’t convince me because I find it unbalanced, and although I understand that by its intensity it may attract many noses, in my case, that central medley is as strident as it is unbearable. A pity.

  • diegoxxxo

A fruit bomb with beastly longevity and projection. I see it for a fairly young audience due to that sweetness. Obviously unisex. It tends to be rude and invasive due to its projection/longevity. That’s why I’d recommend buying the 50ml version. Three sprays and you’re ready to go.

  • Leandro Matias

Amber Oud Gold Edition is excellent!! Quality 10/10. Barbara King is incredible, 10/10. Erba Pura is beyond compare, it’s another level; that’s where one realises the quality of the raw materials… 100/100, clearly another tier in terms of scent and longevity. The other options serve their purpose and are great for the olfactory experience, but they aren’t Erba Pura.

  • It was a blind buy and I couldn’t handle it. It’s a fruity but synthetic scent, strong, giving me a strange sensation, like synthetic sweaty fruit. It’s original; I can’t compare it to anything else. But no, I don’t like it, I can’t stand it, and I gifted it away 😢.

  • This perfume had a lot of hype, so I decided to try it and leave my honest review. On the opening, there’s a citrus note with a sweet touch, quite fruity and with a certain complexity. It doesn’t smell exactly like a fruit cocktail; rather, due to its synthetic character, in my opinion, it seems like syrup. This isn’t negative—in fact, I liked it—but given the hype, I expected something more. In summary, it’s a complex, pleasant aroma with good longevity and projection. However, I recommend trying it before buying. In my case, it smells like a sweet, fruity syrup that I enjoy, but it’s not a profile that everyone likes.

  • A horrible perfume in my opinion. Strident, shrill, synthetic, and very feminine; one of the most overrated perfumes in history. It smells like women’s shampoo to me, and on the street, people constantly smell clones of this. If you’re looking for a perfume with a similar DNA but well-made, try Kirké by Tiziana Terenzi.

  • One of the fragrances that has generated the most compliments for me, despite being a blind buy as I’d never heard of it before, only its dupe, Amber Oud Gold. Unisex, recommended for men or women, it suits both perfectly. A sweet, fruity fragrance with a sweet citrus opening. Recommended for summer, summer nights, and parties where you want to stand out. Rating: 10/10.

  • Like diving into a pool of fruit: that musk gives it beastly longevity and projection. Totally unisex, it garners compliments even from the most serious people in the room. A must-try.

  • They deleted my previous review and I was furious. If I say it’s for an older lady, that’s my opinion; there’s no need to get offended. It’s not a youthful or masculine scent; it’s for a woman who wants to overwhelm with her fragrance. Are you a man and want to wear it? Fantastic! But please stop asking for my comment to be removed.

  • Good perfume but lots of hype, a bit cloying, good longevity. For those with doubts, some replicas manage to reach 85% of the original aroma but they lack that touch of quality that brands like Xerjoff usually seek.

  • Fruity and musky. Very versatile and very unisex. Be careful with over-applying because it can become quite overwhelming.

  • I tried it and I’ll tell you this: if they keep lowering the price, you’ll read negative reviews. What’s it like compared to others? Yes, believe me, Absolut is worth 500 dollars and is a perfume that looks like a man who just came out of the bathroom and shaved. If you want to wear it with a ‘tough guy’ style, you won’t get it. If you use it promoting a profile of a ‘happy, clean, good-vibe man’, then this perfume is for you. Every perfume has its essence. If you wear Tuscan Leather with a t-shirt and swim trunks at the beach, you’ll do badly. This is the same. In what situation do I recommend it? Summer without too much heat, a fresh day, a clean and cheerful man’s profile, someone who wants to conquer the world or go to work to solve problems.

The richest thing, a divine and delicious little treat. It’s adorably exhilarating with that touch of citrus and little fruity notes that give way to a soft, relaxed and powdery vanilla. I had the good feeling that I would like it and my intuition didn’t fail me. I declare myself a fan of this beautiful scent.

  • Well, Erba Pura… Truth be told, it’s a good perfume, although I like Erba Gold a little more, but they’re almost the same. Sincerely, I also have Bharara King and yes, brother, they’re practically the same: burnt-out perfume, obviously. It’s the most burnt-out from Xerjoff; even the greengrocer down the corner knows it. I don’t use it much, as I’m not one to perfume myself often, so I’ve had it full bottle for ten months, using it occasionally when the mood strikes. Here in Argentina, you’ll feel it everywhere: it’s classic, known, popular, has its style, but it’s already thoroughly burnt-out.

  • I had to go to Edition Privée to see how different it was from their Arab versions. People, I’ll cut to the chase: this perfume is a bit of a bolichesque, its ex and the one from the kiosk that sold him gum. The scent is rich, but at least in Argentina, everyone has it. Amber Oud and Bharara King are 99% similar and cost a third of the price. Besides, they hyped it because of La Joaqui from the villas, who also doesn’t stand out for good taste. If you want to impress a girl, remember that first impressions make up 90% of what people think. If you approach someone with this, they’ll think you’re basic and probably won’t even know you bought the original. What I hate about the community is that they criticise the lack of personality in some perfumes, and then you have reviewers saying Dior Sauvage is very burnt-out, but afterwards they say Erba Pura is a guaranteed buy. Fruits (the orange stands out), lots of amber and vanilla. The lemon they declare is like a gummy, it doesn’t feel fresh. 100% nocturnal and bolichesque. Overhyped.

  • No beating around the bush, being realistic and leaving the hype aside, Erba Pura offers a rich, tropical, cheerful and striking aroma. Of course, there’s hate because it’s so famous in the fragrance world, but if it weren’t good, it wouldn’t be so recognised or have so many attempts at dupes. On the street, most people don’t even wear perfume or know how to recognise fragrances. It’s totally unisex and versatile; it suits both men and women, my partner and I even share it. In Andalucía, it really shines and is loved immensely; you notice it with very few sprays, no need to be overbearing. Everyone should use what suits them, but for me, it’s a great scent that makes me shine with joy and brilliance.

  • Haha, I’m dying of the comments XD. I bought a very good imitation and I love it. For those living in CABA, I recommend buying Erba Pura from Yves D’Orgeval at the factory on Segurola 57.

  • I read many negative reviews, saying there are 20 copies, that it’s burnt out, that this and that. The perfume is rich, smells very fruity, it’s very evening-appropriate and I recommend it highly. It lasts quite a while and leaves a huge trail. Very unisex, too much; if you prefer men’s perfumes, it’s not for you, but the perfume itself is good. The copies may smell the same, but they don’t compare to a niche like Erba Pura by Xerjoff. If you like sweet, fruity and unisex scents, I recommend it.

  • peterMartinez

Truth be told, this perfume is hated and hyped in equal measure. People say it’s overrated, that its clones are better, while others call it a niche gem. In my opinion, it’s a rich and special scent. Although there are clones like Bharara King that resemble it, they aren’t the same. Erba Pura’s work with citrus and fruity notes is spectacular; applying it puts you in a good mood with that relaxed aroma. It’s totally unisex and versatile for any season or time of day, though if you overdo it, it can become cloying. The longevity is beastly, lasting a very long time and projecting wildly, which surprised me given the notes it seems to have. It’s worth every penny; no dupe comes close to its quality, and although it’s expensive, I’m happy with it.

  • Erba Pura is an absolute yes. Fresh, citrusy and super pleasant, very wearable from the first spray. Feels clean, luminous and easy to enjoy. It doesn’t overwhelm, doesn’t tire and pleases without effort. Ideal for daily use, for any moment when you want to smell good without thinking.

  • At first I found it excessively sweet, but once it settles it becomes sweet to the right point: fruity, vanilla-scented and slightly waxy, where the amber orange accord dominates the sweet orange. I tried it in the middle of summer and the projection and longevity were very good. It feels synthetic but pleasant. It comes across as jovial, feminine and suitable for any season; I don’t think anyone will dislike it. Still, I don’t understand the hype for smelling like tropical fruit shampoo for 300 euros for 100 ml; it’s better value buying Fructis, or if you want the atomiser version, the Jasmín Wisp by Rasasi. Pleasant: 6/10, Interesting: 8/10, Versatile: 5/10, Original: 7/10.

  • If a man wears it, forget fragile masculinity. It smells like women’s shampoo, fresh and very fruity, like when a woman steps out of the shower and the scent of her hair gives you little bursts. Once understood, it’s a bloody delight. Very wearable, zero invasive and appeals to everyone. It’s one of those scents you smell with your eyes closed. Totally unisex, perhaps slightly more feminine, but perfectly wearable by a man. I’ve loved it.

  • Rich and versatile aroma. Citrus and amber opening with a very marked chinola base. Excellent performance: over 8 hours on skin and a two-metre trail. It has become very popular; there are dupes like Lattafa Confidential Private Gold, Bharara King or Erba Gold. Highly recommended.

  • Once the citrus notes fade, only a synthetic aroma remains that lasts for days. I wish the perfumes I like had such staying power.

  • Fantastic fragrance. Starts citrusy and moves into a delicious fruity aroma. A great entry point into the niche. Longevity and projection are outstanding, but be careful with the sprays so as not to overwhelm.

  • I bought it without checking the batch code and got a 2019 bottle that barely lasts. It smells nice, but the trail and longevity are non-existent. I wouldn’t buy it again.

  • Smells like shampoo. The first hours are invasive, but then it settles nicely. Not really my style.

  • PeruvianMonkey

Starts citrusy and fruity but fades after a couple of hours. What does last is that powdery base, reminiscent of women’s makeup with musk, vanilla and amber, noticeable even the next day. Avoid wearing it in extreme heat under the sun; it’s better for informal outings on fresh summer evenings or in autumn. In Peru, a 100 ml bottle costs between 850 and 899 soles in department stores, around 250 dollars.
