  • What a brilliant creation! Lasts until you decide to shower, and on clothes for months. Don’t spray it without control or it will overwhelm you. Smells incredible, very similar to Erba Pura and Royal Amber. It’s a citrus bomb, sweet and ambered. Perfect for men or women. The bottle is gorgeous, although in my case the letters have worn off with use.

  • Opens with a rich, citrusy, fruity top note, but dries down slightly powdery, reminiscent of an older lady’s perfume I smelled in some Cacharel or Lancôme from my mother. I thought it was suitable for daily wear, but I’ll be looking for another sweet/fruity option.

  • This inspiration in the DNA of Erba Pura, which costs less than a decent meal, promises to take you to Italy with its Mediterranean notes. Look, let’s be clear: when you have a masterpiece like Erba Pura by Xerjoff, any attempt at imitation can seem optimistic. Philos Pura, by Maison Alhambra, tries… and surprisingly doesn’t fail miserably. On the contrary, if you give it a chance and forget it costs fifteen times less, you find a pretty decent clone, more than can be said of others that cost twice as much. Philos Pura opens with the same citrus deployment as the original: Sicilian orange, Calabrian bergamot, and lemon. That’s where we’re good, but the difference shows up after a short while. Where Erba Pura gives you a subtle slap of exotic fruits with a soft musk and an amber base that seems to melt, Philos Pura deflates like a balloon. It’s as if the budget trip to Sicily turns into a walk through a neighbourhood fruit shop. You notice the lack of that velvety richness of the original. What it achieves at this price is impressive: it captures the general essence of the Erba Pura DNA, but without the deeper notes or that hypnotic longevity. It’s more of a shadow of what it could be, a good daily perfume for anyone who wants to try luxury without emptying their wallet. I consider other inspirations like Swiss Arabian Kenzy or King Bharara to be closer to the original, but Philos Pura gives decent results at a very contained price. It surpasses in similarity fragrances like Tender Amber from Zara or Amber Oud Gold Edition from Al Haramain, which triple its price. In summary: Philos Pura is like that friend who reminds you of someone famous, but never makes you doubt if it’s the real person. It’s pleasant, light, and fulfils its purpose, especially because of its ridiculously low price. Perfect for smelling good without compromising the budget, but don’t compare it too much with the original… because then the only thing you’ll smell is the difference.

  • The opening is rich and very good, but it doesn’t last long, no more than 10 minutes. The perfume settles as a simple sweet musk, like body shampoo, smelling like Woman’s Mood. Still, I like it and will use it; it’s quite addictive, ideal for summer. It’s not the freshest you’ll find, the opening is great, but if it could maintain that and enhance the fruits it would be wonderful. Later I’ll bring info on compliments, these are just my first impressions.

  • I tried it on one arm, just one drop, and thank goodness! because it’s hard to get it off even with soap. The scent is nice at first, but once dry it’s very feminine for my taste, definitely not my thing (fruity citrus at the start that quickly changes to sweet musky vanilla). Watch out!, I’m not saying it smells bad, simply it’s too sweet for me. From what I’ve tried, the performance is very good, don’t over-spray or you’ll be overwhelmed. As for similarities to others? I don’t know, I don’t like comparing cheap fragrances with much more expensive ones, it doesn’t seem fair to me.

  • Super rich fragrance. In short, it’s totally unisex once dry. It starts citrusy (I note a floral touch), but on skin it becomes sweet, I think it’s suitable for any season. I was hugely impressed by the longevity on skin (around 8 hours) and it has an interesting sillage. For what it costs, it’s a perfume you must own.

  • petri_aromatico

I don’t believe in that eternal 5-6 hour longevity, although it projects well. Average quality but worth it because it’s so cheap. Smells very similar to Amber Oud or Bharara, but at a price three times lower. Ideal for daily wear; if you’re going to formal events or out at night, something more expensive is better. It’s unisex, with more feminine nuances.

  • Having thoroughly tested Bharara King, Al Haramain Amber Oud Gold, Amber Is Great, and Philos Pura, the truth is that Philos Pura far surpasses Amber Is Great, plus it’s much cheaper. Against Amber Oud, they are almost on the same level, although the Al Haramain one has a bit more projection and longevity, but not much; if you count the price, Philos Pura is the winning purchase. Compared to Bharara King, the latter has a more masculine twist in the base that I love in this ‘Erba Pura’ profile. Philos Pura has no chance against Bharara King in anything: King projects more, lasts longer, and smells more masculine, making it a 9/10 for me. Conclusion: buy it without thinking. It’s a great clone of Erba Pura and, given the price, spraying without fear doesn’t hurt at all. 13 dollars in my country is a steal.

  • I tried it because of the Al Haramain one, which I liked a lot for being fruity-tropical with a skin conditioner vibe. I was convinced that Philos Pura was better and closer to the original, so I bought it blind. Mistake: it smells like fruity laundry detergent, with lysoform-type fruits and leaning masculine. Horrible. It reminds me of the Trixx but less sweet. I gifted it away; it was cheap but only serves to perfume clean clothes in the wardrobe.

  • I bought it because I had tried the Al Haramain one and it left me with a very fruity-tropical scent with a hint of body conditioner that I liked. I let myself be persuaded by those who said Philos Pura was more similar to the original (which I don’t know) and that its aroma was better, so I bought it blindly. Bad decision: it literally smells like fruity laundry powder, but the fruits are like those in Lysoform, leaning towards masculine. Horrible. It also reminds me of Trixx cereals but less sweet. I gave it away, it was cheap but only enough to put on a pile of clean clothes to store in the wardrobe like a perfumina.

  • I’ve tried Erba and, among the clones I know, this is the closest match. It lacks that sharp, metallic edge of the Amber Gold Edition and isn’t as ‘diverse’ as the Bharara King. Of course, it’s missing a tiny bit of quality to equal the original, but that’s a plus: it lasts and projects normally without being invasive, making it perfect for daily wear. I keep it in rotation and use it without issues in moderate or hot climates. I really like it. 7/10

  • Price here: 11-15 USD, the original is worth 210-250 USD. Test of 2 sprays on the neck: pleasant opening, slightly feminine (in my opinion) with fruity, citrus and floral notes (perhaps bergamot). After half an hour it’s slightly powdery but not annoying, a clean scent (white musk) and sweet notes are added, maintaining a fruity/citrus base. Longevity: 8 hours. Trail moderate to heavy for 2-3 hours. Very nice, clean, totally unisex. Tested in dry summer (25-32ºC) and feels comfortable, not overwhelming, although the trail is strong, so I don’t give many sprays. [TEST 2] Today at the office with 5 sprays: moderate trail for 3 hours, strong close to the skin until 5-6 hours and light until 9-10 hours. On clothes it lasted until 2pm when I threw it in the washing machine. [TEST 3] A week later, 7 sprays at 7:30 AM in the middle of summer, still felt strong close to the skin at 10:45 PM. It’s a wonder.

  • Price here: 11-15 USD versus 210-250 USD for the original. With two sprays on the neck, the opening is pleasant, with fruity and citrusy notes; perhaps the bergamot gives it that floral air. After half an hour, it settles into a clean white musk with a touch of talc that doesn’t bother, while sweet notes begin to emerge over that fruity base. Longevity: 8 hours. Sillage: moderate to heavy for the first 2-3 hours. Smells rich, clean, and unisex; in this dry summer of 25-32°C, it feels super comfortable without being overpowering, although the sillage is strong, so I don’t apply many sprays. [TEST 2] Today at the office with 5 sprays: moderate sillage for 3 hours, strong close to the skin until 5-6 hours, and light until 9-10 hours with 30 degrees outside. On clothes, it lasted until 2 PM when I washed it. [TEST 3] A week later, 7 sprays at 7:30 AM in the middle of summer: at 10:45 PM it still smells close to the skin with power. It’s a marvel.

  • I consider Philos Pura an excellent alternative to Erba Pura; so far it’s the cheapest clone I’ve found. Obviously it doesn’t have the same quality and loses a bit in performance compared to Amber Oud Gold, but I see it as excellent for daily use if you like this fruity DNA. I recommend it for its price.

  • An exquisite fragrance, very similar to Erba Pura, with a potent citrus/fruity opening that gains more fruitiness as time passes. When dry, it becomes creamy, caramelised and sweet, thanks to Madagascar vanilla and amber. It’s a marvel, a compliment factory, with amazing longevity (surpassing 10h on skin), a heavy trail of 3h that then recedes to moderate/wide; it’s never unnoticed, wherever you go they’ll notice. On clothes it lasts several days. Unlike Amber Oud Gold and Bharara King, Philos smells more high-quality, is less sharp and more versatile; with care it can be worn in the office without overwhelming. In my view it serves for day, but stands out more at night and in temperate climates; in summer you must dial it back as it can result in being heavy. Ideal for romantic dates. It’s 100% unisex and comes in a velvet bottle with gold details. It’s a scent that makes you stand out, very different from the commercial ones we usually smell. And as if that weren’t enough, the spray is one of the best.

Philos Pura and Jean Lowe Inmortal are (in my opinion) the best versions from Maison Alhambra. It has a more feminine opening but develops and settles perfectly balanced. It’s a fragrance to enjoy (by most), but it must be used with caution; an excess of trigger can transform it into something overwhelming. What more could you want for the price?

  • I liked it more than the Al Haramain dupe. I find it less sweet and cloying, more enjoyable. It doesn’t cause olfactory fatigue. (Haven’t tried Erba Pura). I’d describe it as: just stepped out of the shower with the perfume from a top-brand shampoo strongly impregnated. It’s the definition of smelling good and reflects cleanliness. The trail is moderate on my skin and lasts +6h close to the skin. As I use more men’s perfumes, this seems slightly more feminine to me. Although I’d definitely use it a lot, I can’t stop smelling my wrist, excellent. 💥Price Rating: 10/10. Very cheap for what it delivers. Trail: 7.8/10. Strong, not beastly like Bharara or Amber Oud Gold. Longevity: 8/10. It lasts. Versatility: 8.5/10. User “Vilory” left a correct review, see below.

  • The Wind Waker

A very nice perfume that fulfils the 3Bs: good, beautiful and cheap. I don’t know Erba Pura, but I have AOGE and they have an air of similarity. The performance is very good: on skin about 7-8h, it’s quite noticeable in the first hours and then in bursts; it never lets you down and always accompanies you all day. That said, try it first because some find it more feminine or vice versa. Don’t stick with the first impression; let it sit for a few hours to develop all its facets. That’s all, for me it was a pleasant surprise.

  • A few months ago I bought Philos Pura and gifted it to my wife; I find it very feminine or unisex-feminine. A week ago I bought a decant of Al Haramain Gold Edition and I have one in each hand; they are very similar, but the Maison Alhambra one sounds a bit more feminine to me; I perceive floral notes (not declared). On Philos Pura I detect greener notes, like that orange peel note between citrus and green. On Gold Edition I find it sweeter and more ambered. After two hours, Gold Edition has a bit more potency. I don’t know Erba Pura, but this DNA reminds me of some shampoo. Truthfully, it’s a rich and enjoyable DNA; I see it for everything, leaning more towards the feminine side, but a man can wear it if he likes fruity and sweet scents. I’d advise male customers to try it first. Regards.

  • Policrais

I liked it a lot, but I agree it’s more of a feminine unisex scent, suitable for any occasion, super versatile. I am a man and I plan to wear it on a cool summer evening or a chilly spring day; it smells like shampoo when dry. In Argentina on the 29th of May, thanks to the inflation management, it’s 40 lucas with ML coupons, a total bargain. If you’re unsure between this and Al Haramain, I’m not sure if the other is worth double… perhaps the other feels like better quality.

My first Arabic perfume and my first love. It lasts a long time (8+ hours on skin, days on clothes). It’s detectable from several metres away. Projection is more than enough (2+ hours). I haven’t tried Erba Pura, but compared to Al Haramain, this smells more fruity; Al Haramain is more like sweet gummies. If I’m looking for an Erba Pura dupe, I’d go with Al Haramain because on my skin it lasts 12h+ and projects better, but for the price, there’s no contest with this one. 8/10: it doesn’t project as much as other dupes, but the exquisite scent and longevity make it worth it.

  • benjamanonni5

My first Arabic scent, very rich, I wear it to university. It’s soft on the skin but lasts longer on clothes.

  • The citrus opening and fruity heart are excellent, giving a clean sensation. Perhaps a unisex leaning slightly feminine, but it looks great on men too. I wear it in the office in spring, summer, and hot autumn days. Longevity: more than 8 hours on skin and lasts all day on clothing without issue. Projection for about 2.5 hours with a very good trail. Price: I always recommend it if you can get it for under £30, as many retailers raise the price. 100% recommended.

  • At the start you can appreciate citrus notes that later transform into fruity ones giving a sensation of smelling clean. Perhaps it’s a unisex leaning towards feminine, but on men it looks very good. I use it in the office in spring, summer and hot autumn days. Lasts more than 8 hours on skin and on clothes for a whole day without problems. Projection around 2 hours or 2.5 hours with a good trail. At the price it has, I always recommend it if you buy it for less than 30€ as in many places it’s already risen. Highly recommended 100%.

It’s one of those scents that makes you fall in love at first sight. When I smelled it, I was just as captivated as I was with other Maison Alhambra fragrances like Jean Lowe Immortal or Toscano Leather. Philos Pura is elegant and versatile: citrus at the start, and as it evolves, it sweetens, almost as if the bergamot turns into fruits and flowers. The transition is almost imperceptible. I wouldn’t recommend buying it blind because some men (those who believe men’s perfumes can only smell of leather, rum, and lemon) won’t want it, but it’s fairly versatile. Unlike its brother, Rosso, Pura is more of a masculine unisex. In my case, it lasts 6 to 8 hours and has a moderate trail when dry (1–1.5m), but in the first two hours the trail is quite heavy (2–2.5m).

It’s one of those aromas that fall in love with you at first sight. When I smelled it, I fell in love, just like with other Maison Alhambra scents like Jean Lowe Immortal or Toscano Leather. I don’t recommend buying it blindly because some men (those who believe men’s perfumes only smell of leather, rum and lemon) might not like it, but it is quite versatile. • andiufmanoel

The citrus opening and fruity heart are excellent, but I’m not convinced by the dry-down: it remains too intense; I’d wear it at outdoor events. I don’t detect much Madagascar vanilla. The price is unbeatable.

  • Smells clean, with an intense fruity aroma and a touch of amber, not spicy at all (unlike most Arabic perfumes). Fresh and super versatile; in my opinion, more feminine than masculine, though fairly unisex. A wonder with good longevity and trail. Edit: it’s a proper beast, lasting hours, invading everything, filling rooms… The opening is peach, but as it dries, hard fruits and woods emerge with an immense trail. Apply sparingly and I wouldn’t recommend wearing it in enclosed spaces… it’s a beast!

  • Andres Carrillo

Buy blind and it won’t disappoint, although it doesn’t stand out. I haven’t smelled the original Erba Pura, but this resembles it closely; I wouldn’t pay the original’s price for a moment. It smells clean, like freshly laundered clothes with fabric softener. Citrus opening, then a sweet, fruity aroma with powdery notes that give it its signature (reminded me of Prada L’Homme). Unisex? Yes, but in my opinion, it leans more feminine than masculine. If you own Britney Spears Fantasy, smell it and you’ll see it’s at least 90% similar in the opening. I recommend it because hardly anyone won’t like it. Can it disappoint? Yes, if you were expecting something niche. Otherwise, it smells clean… who wouldn’t like that? Excellent longevity, easily 6 hours and more.

  • Buy blind: at first it didn’t seem that good, but after macerating, the scent and longevity improved significantly. Very similar to Amber Oud Gold Edition (a bit more citrusy and less vanilla-like when dry) and, consequently, to Erba Pura. Longevity: 8 hours. Projection: moderate to heavy (8/10), though it does smell slightly burnt.

  • All Erba Pura clones are similar, but this one is a fruity explosion that dries down to a musky touch until the end. A good fragrance, fairly unisex, and lasts about 6 hours on my skin with intimate projection. Of all the dupes, it’s the least sweet and the most fruity.

  • A very good cheap dupe of Erba Pura: starts with tangerine and then develops that rich scent typical of the original. Not for summer, but perfect for evenings. One day I smelled this (or Amber Oud) on someone at 32 degrees and it was utterly suffocating. Longevity: after macerating, around 8–10 hours with strong projection for the first two hours. Rating: 9/10.

  • On my skin, it comes across as very masculine. I’m planning to layer it with a floral to soften that edge. Excellent longevity.
