It is built in clear layers: petitgrain, black pepper and olibanum incense to open, cumin, cedar and incense in the middle, with sandalwood, cedar and vetiver beneath.
The first impression brings together the bitter greenness of petitgrain and the dry crackle of black pepper. Olibanum incense is evident from the outset, resinous and composed with just a whisper of smoke.
The middle introduces cumin, warm and faintly animalic yet kept smooth. Cedar lends a dry, orderly frame, while incense preserves the contemplative tone established at the start.
Beneath lies creamy sandalwood, arid cedar and earthy vetiver. The foundation is tidy and woody, supportive without turning sweet.
