Descripción

Floating Around by Zara is a fruity aromatic fragrance for men, created by perfumer Olivier Cresp and launched in 2021. Its composition unfolds with a vibrant opening of bergamot, mandarin, and lemon, giving way to a fresh heart of jasmine, lily of the valley, and rose. The base settles on a warm accord of cedar, oakmoss, and musk, offering a balanced evolution between citrus freshness and woody elegance.

The Sauvage scent starts to show up 30 minutes after application. The opening is a bit ‘meh’, but as it evolves, it improves considerably.

  • If Boss Bottled and Sauvage had a child, it would be something like this. Apple and ambroxan from the start until the fragrance fades; I believe the lavender disappears quickly (better for me). It’s quite linear and simple, but very rich. I didn’t expect much of its longevity or projection, but it hasn’t disappointed me much, probably because it’s summer in my city, but it lasts quite well. One of my favourite Zara fragrances of the last year.

Once again with Zara packs: the one that attracted the most attention was the one I liked the least. I picked it up with Stormy Day. It smells of lavender and green apple, a combination we’ve seen a thousand times. The lavender feels a bit watery, it doesn’t dominate the apple, but it’s not as fresh and herbal as a decent lavender cologne. It has good projection but the longevity is weak. Stormy Day is superior in both aspects… I’d recommend it more than Floating.

I’m writing about this fragrance again and there’s nothing spectacular about it; it smells good but doesn’t stand out much. More for personal use than for good projection.

It starts with lavender and apple, quite fresh, but after half an hour it has a halo reminiscent of Sauvage, saving the differences. If it had better projection, it would be a sound choice; after that half hour, it smells like a generic blue fragrance. It’s soft and good for the gym, after a shower, an intimate encounter, or if you don’t like to bother others or be bothered by strong scents. I see it as all-rounder but lacking in strength and personality. Longevity on my skin is barely 4 hours. Only buy if it comes in a pack or is going out of stock.

  • It’s a good fragrance, nothing extraordinary, but it smells nice. It’s fresh yet warm. Ideal for everyday wear without drawing attention.

  • Simple, featuring lavender, apple, and a touch of ambroxan. After 15-30 minutes, it leaves a clean, soap-like scent. To me, it doesn’t smell anything like Prada Luna Rossa Carbon; although they follow similar lines, they are very different. This Floating Around is sweeter at the start. It would be brilliant for the office in spring, autumn, and perhaps summer on less hot days. The longevity is limited, around 5 hours. If I caught it on offer or in a pack, I’d grab it; otherwise, I’ll pass.
