A whisper of talc and musk that envelops Le Golden Lullaby, a creation by Nathalie Lorson and Jo Malone for Zara. It’s a delicate aroma that caresses with baby powder, new toys, and clean soap, without veering into floral or cloying territory. Its softness makes it ideal for any age; its younger sibling, Le Petit Lullaby EDC, is lighter and more fleeting, perfect for the little ones. Both are in Zara’s children’s section, designed to tenderly accompany childhood. Although the projection isn’t intense, it invites reapplication, leaving a discreet charm: a fragrance that wraps around and warms up the daily routine.
It smells exactly like Zara’s Unusual Wood, almost identical. It smells good, but it’s fresh and acidic.
I bought this blind following an influencer’s review and their description of the notes, but if I’d tested it first, I certainly wouldn’t have taken it home. It has very little sillage and longevity, although the price is decent and doesn’t break the bank. To my nose, it smells citrusy at first, which isn’t listed in the notes. Then it shifts to a musk that reminds me hugely of a fragrance from Mercadona (a gradient white bottle I found in the queue that I believe also imitates a niche scent). For me, it’s quite sharp. It looks fresh, so I’ll try wearing it in spring to see if it wins me over or if I discard it entirely. Although I don’t fancy smelling like a supermarket cologne or anything overly mass-market. Right now, I’m in limbo: I like it, I don’t like it…
I bought this blind following an influencer’s review and their description of the notes, but if I’d tested it first, I certainly wouldn’t have taken it home. The sillage and longevity are minimal, although the price is decent and it’s not a disaster. To my nose, it smells citrusy at first, something that isn’t on the official spec sheet. Then it shifts to a musk that reminds me hugely of a fragrance from Mercadona (a gradient white bottle I found in the queue that I myself imitate as a niche scent), which I find quite sharp. I see it as fresh and will try wearing it in spring to see if it hooks me or if I throw it in the bin, as I don’t fancy smelling like a mass-market supermarket cologne. Right now, I’m in limbo: I like it, I don’t like it…
