They say this was Helena Rubinstein’s second great success after Apple Blossom. Envio del Cielo is more complex than its predecessor, more indolic with a strong presence of musk and resins; although there is no civet, there’s a soft animal touch. The base shines with richness, while the top is dominated by florals: rose and wet carnation accented with subtle mint notes, an original combination. Crabapple Blossom is exquisite and well-crafted, but beside Envio del Cielo it feels more linear and youthful. I’m not saying one is better, just that they are two very different things. Another gem from Rubinstein.
