Pleasant but undeniably generic and not innovative at all. It smells like many other fragrances, in my humble opinion. It is harmless and has a low sillage.

  • It is a scent that many criticise and they are right on two points: it lacks a strong trail, being almost intimate, and the cedar in the heart makes it sound similar to others. But watch out, the quality is top-notch and that woody blend is a delight. It fits perfectly into that cloud of aquatic fragrances that new niche brands seem to resent. It is super soft and contradicts its name; it smells nothing like a ‘tough hero’. I think it’s brilliant, simple, and the antithesis of things like BoyToy. Use it with confidence, no fear, six sprays and you’re done, it won’t scare anyone. The cedar is slightly sweet and refreshing. It is an EDT that acts as a cologne, so the price is high and that explains the insults, but trashing something so simple is annoying, like following flocks of penguins.

  • This fragrance is heavily criticised for several reasons: it lacks a strong trail, being almost intimate; its cedar heart makes it similar to others, although it is harmless. The quality is excellent and results in a wonderfully pleasant woody combination. It fits right into that cloud of aquatic fragrances that makes new niche enthusiasts sick. It’s very soft and contradicts its name; this ‘Hero’ has nothing of the rough man about it. Personally, I think it’s good, simple, and the antithesis of a Boy Toy. It should be worn energetically, without fear; six sprays are perfect and won’t scare anyone. The cedar is a delight, slightly sweet and refreshing. It’s an EDT but behaves like a cologne, so the price seems steep, likely the reason for so much criticism. It’s annoying when people criticise simple fragments just by following YouTubers like Penguins.

  • Burberry Hero smells of wood and spices with a fresh juniper berry opening; the citrus notes are barely noticeable, but there are definitely spices. Then comes the cedar base, which Fragrantica lists as several types, though it isn’t as woody as I expected. It resembles Terre, but Hermes’ woods are better crafted. Hero is more aromatic and cool, reminiscent of K EDP but without the sweetness of Dolce & Gabbana. I liked it, though not enough to buy a bottle yet; it’s pleasant and masculine. Suitable for both casual and formal occasions, it’s ideal for the office as it’s not intrusive. It lasted about nine hours with regular-to-low projection. The bottle is pretty, heavy, elegant, and features a magnetic cap; it looks good without any extra adornments.

  • Burberry Hero is a woody and spicy fragrance. It has a fresh opening based on juniper berries; the citrus notes are barely perceptible, but some spices can be detected. Soon after, a woody cedar base emerges, which Fragrantica lists as having up to three different types of cedar, although it isn’t as woody as I imagined. It has a certain resemblance to Terre, but the woody notes are better crafted in the Hermes fragrance, whereas Hero is more aromatic and cool. In fact, it also reminds me to a large extent of K EDP, but without the sweet note of the Dolce & Gabbana fragrance. Nevertheless, I liked it, though not quite enough to rush out and buy a bottle; it is pleasant and masculine. Hero could be used in both casual and formal situations; indeed, it is a good option for office work, as it is not intrusive. Its longevity was approximately nine hours, with regular-to-low projection. The bottle is pretty, heavy, and elegant, and has a magnetic cap; I find it looks good without any adornments.

Received as a gift and it’s perfect for the office: pleasant, unobtrusive, and everyone likes it. The good thing is it smells of clean, harmonious wood, like freshly sawn cedar, ideal for those who don’t delve too deeply into perfumes. The downside is it doesn’t last long, maybe just two hours, and is barely noticeable at a metre’s distance. If you want to wear it all day, you’ll need to reapply. It’s very linear, just cedar with a hint of sweetness, so if you reapply, no one will notice the difference. Generic but enjoyable; of Burberry, I only remember London for Man. The brand should create more original and groundbreaking scents. Best wishes.

To me, a perfume isn’t good based on how long it lasts or projects; for that, I’d use turpentine and my neighbour would know. A perfume is good if its craftsmanship and quality are up to scratch, and here they are. It smells citrusy and green, a classic barbershop aroma, ideal after a shower, for the office in spring or summer, or to feel clean. The best part: it’s available at a laughable price. It’s not turpentine, but a delicious scent to prolong the post-shower feeling of cleanliness.

  • Hello, I’m sharing my thoughts on this perfume, which may not matter to those who don’t know it. With all due respect, I hope I’m not offending, but this reminded me of a cheap, poor-quality, generic perfume. The only redeeming feature is the opening; many catalogue scents outperform this. I was disappointed by its terrible performance, lasting no more than two hours. It wouldn’t hurt to try it before buying; fortunately, I could, and I’ve decided against purchasing it. Best wishes.

  • Just like the Croxatto scam at 110€ on pre-sale and 140€ now on his website, when Burberry Hero Eau de Toilette 100ml costs 63€ on Amazon. The scent is identical and both launched in 2021. Without a doubt, this Burberry option is much better: it smells the same, costs half the price, and Croxatto’s cap is ridiculous and mediocre, fitting his campaign that played with the trust of 10,000 clients he refused to refund.

  • I’ve been on Fragrantica for years, learning about this fascinating world. This is my first review, not about the scent itself. I’m fed up with types like @SoundTotal. There’s always one, never a need for three. What do you gain by spewing hatred and insults? If you don’t like it, express your opinion respectfully, without being rude. Are you afraid that 10,000 buyers trust Mr Croxatto (in something you probably haven’t even touched)? Are you afraid of how wealthy he’s become selling a perfume he considers perfect? That’s a childish tantrum. Let’s be objective and sensible. Your way of speaking says more about you than the perfume. P.S.: I haven’t tried it, but I’ve heard a lot about it. I’ll try it to form an objective opinion.

  • A delightful opening, heavily woody, with a serious, old-school vibe. The downside is it blends in with everyone else: it doesn’t last at all. If it lasted longer, I’d buy it without hesitation, but alas… we live in an era where perfumes seem like scams.

  • A woody, dry fragrance with a bright citrus sparkle of fresh grapefruit peel and a relaxing breeze of Virginia juniper. But the protagonist is black pepper, which takes over the composition. It’s dry, agreeable and serious, youthful yet formal, with cedar and more cedar. In short: a beautiful citrus opening, a heart of herbs and spices, and a deep woody dry-down. Ideal for work or formal situations, it generates authority and cleanliness. That’s why its projection is just right.

  • My brother bought it blind and I wasn’t expecting anything fascinating. However, the sprays impressed me; my skin usually doesn’t agree with spicy notes, but I liked this one. It’s formal, perhaps for someone in their forties with an elegant, neat style. Longevity wasn’t bad, around 7 hours with medium-low sillage. Subjectively, I’m willing to buy it, even though the price isn’t cheap.

  • Simple, sober, masculine and versatile. The opening smells spiced with that characteristic bergamot bite, nothing jarring. Within seconds it turns creamy. The juniper adds a bitter touch that paves the way for the star note: cedar. I can’t distinguish between the three cedars, but the result is well-balanced. On the nose it’s soft, pleasant and fresh wood, drying down with a sweet, musky hint. It’s not strong or dark like Encre Noir; it’s refined, understated and easy to wear, conveying seriousness. It could be a good, risk-free entry into the world of woody scents. Medium longevity, moderate-to-low sillage. Update: after wearing it at the office for weeks, I like it even more. It remains simple but dries down sweeter. It doesn’t last forever, but on skin it reaches 6 to 8 hours, and on clothes it easily lasts until the next day.

  • Simple, sober, masculine and versatile. It starts spicy with that sharpness of bergamot, yet it’s not aggressive. It blends well and becomes creamy within seconds. The juniper adds a bitter touch that gives way to the star: cedar. I can’t distinguish the three types of cedar mentioned, but the result is well-balanced. It smells of soft, fresh wood, drying down with a sweet, musky nuance. It’s not strong or dark like Encre Noir; it’s HERO, soft, neat and serious, ideal for dipping your toes into the woody world without risk. LONGEVITY: Medium. Sillage: Medium/Low. Edit: After wearing it for weeks at the office, I like it more than at first. It remains simple but sweeter as it dries. Although it doesn’t last forever, it behaves well: about 6 to 8 hours on skin and until the next day on clothes.

  • A good perfume with average projection lasting about four hours on me. They sold it to me for $120 with the kit, and I have to say now that, at that price, it’s a complete rip-off.

  • Pepper and cedar… just a fleeting citrus note at the start that vanishes quickly. It’s simple, understated and linear, with no fuss, making it perfect for any occasion. I think that’s its charm. Performance is moderate but acceptable, just right for this style. The best: it has no rival. The downside: the pepper can sting quite a bit depending on your skin, so test it first.

  • Quite a pleasant scent, one you’ll surely love, as will the masses. I don’t see anyone complaining about this perfume’s aroma. My girlfriend likes it very much, as it’s a pleasant and masculine fragrance. However, it has very poor performance. It smells similar to Nautica Voyage Heritage, but of course, HERO is superior in quality, ingredients, and aroma. It’s a linear and uninteresting perfume. My recommendation: skip this and buy something different instead.

  • Fantastic aroma, albeit with low performance. As a lover of the cedar note, I adore this EDT. It has a bright, fresh, slightly spicy opening where the woodiness takes prominence as it dries. It doesn’t deceive; the notes are clear and you perceive exactly what you expect. I also own the EDP version, which improves in longevity and performance but loses, as expected, the more vibrant aspects. Dried down on skin, the scents blend closer (though on blotting paper the differences remain perceptible). For this spring, I’m giving this EDT a try and have set the EDP aside for autumn or evening wear. My great regret is that it doesn’t last through my workday, but I knew this when I bought it thanks to a tester. That’s why I purchased the 150ml to avoid hesitation in reapplying. To those who criticise it saying they’ve already smelled it, I’d be delighted to know which perfumes remind you of it to add to my repertoire. In my humble collection, I have nothing similar. It vaguely reminds me of Loewe Solo’s cedar, but that one is much spicier, and Issey Miyake’s is no more than the woody touch. Its aroma doesn’t disrupt the market, certainly, but it offers more than many gourmands.

  • Fantastic aroma, poor performance. As a lover of cedar, I adore this EDT. The opening is bright, fresh and slightly spiced, where the woody notes gain strength as it dries. It does not deceive; the notes are clear and you perceive what you expect. I own the EDP which improves longevity but loses the vibrant part. As it dries on skin the scents come closer together, although on paper the differences are noticeable. This spring I will use the EDT and keep the EDP for autumn or evening. My regret is that it does not last all day, but I already knew that from the tester, so I bought the 150ml to reapply without hesitation. To those who say they have heard it before, I would love to know what it resembles so I can add it to my list. I have nothing similar in my collection. It vaguely reminds me of Loewe Solo Cedar, but this is more spiced, and Issey Miyake only in the woody touch. It does not break the market, certainly, but it offers more than many gourmands.

  • I bought it blind and can say I didn’t like it entirely. The opening smelled of earth to me, then my partner noted a cosmetic scent, more like lipstick. Once dried down, the cedar is very prominent (which I loved), but I expected more from the perfume overall. I see it more suited for daily office wear.

  • Gentil vagabond

Terrible longevity, the scent lasted me 30 minutes. It is an innovative aroma and an assault on your wallet, please refrain from buying it.

  • Gentil vagabond

Terrible longevity; the scent lasted only 30 minutes on me. It’s an innovative smell but a rip-off for your wallet, so please avoid buying this.

  • A fragrance that deserves recognition. Although many criticise it for its longevity, one must consider that it is a fresh EDT and by nature is softer than sweet or full-bodied scents. The aroma is spectacular; it’s simple and not overly complex, but that’s why it’s so pleasant for most. It doesn’t seek to attract too much attention but conquers with ease. I found it on offer at a very accessible price (similar to a Lacoste Blanc EDT). In that range, I certainly recommend it. At its regular price it seems expensive, so I only consider it a good purchase if you find a reduction.

  • Olisqueando

At first, you can detect that Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue EDT scent, but much lighter. It evolves into a woody and elegant fragrance. It’s an interesting and masculine perfume, though very weak; on my skin, it fades after two or three hours, but it performs much better on clothes.

  • Deserves recognition. Although it is criticised for its longevity, it is a fresh EDT and by nature softer than sweet or heavy scents. The aroma is spectacular. It is simple, not complex, but that is why it appeals to most. It does not seek attention, yet it wins over easily. I picked it up on offer at an accessible price, similar to a Lacoste Blanc. In that range, I do recommend it. At full price, it seems too expensive, so only buy if there is a reduction.

  • A soft, pleasant and masculine fragrance. The bergamot stands out at the start, blending quickly with juniper and pepper, leaving a woody note as the hours pass. An ‘office perfume’ profile, slightly more woody and different but without surprises. I wouldn’t recommend it for young people; it has a more mature air.

  • A great perfume; if it lasted a little longer it would be a real 10/10. Ideal for daily summer wear, you’ll smell clean and it’ll lift your mood. Scent: 8/10, it’s nothing conventional and a matter of taste. Longevity: 4/10, for what it costs here in Argentina it seems to leave much to be desired. Final score: 7/10; beyond its poor performance, it’s a perfume that never fails.

  • One of the least appreciated lines from Burberry’s ‘Hero’ range. This is the first one, and the EDT boasts brilliant projection and longevity. A clean, woody scent; in my view it’s versatile, though it might fall short in extreme cold, making the middle seasons where it truly shines. 8/10.

  • Lucianolococo

Lasts just three or four hours with a weak trail and projection. It smells nice, but I wouldn’t buy it again.
