Hunter Men by Armaf

Floral and woody scents that literally pulled my hair out. Years ago, someone gifted me a blotter with their essence; I kept it and, after hours of waiting, smelled it again and was instantly hooked. I promised to buy it, but over the years and with new releases, that promise went to pot until today. With the scent intact, it inevitably reminds me of Lacoste White and other blue fragrances. On the dry down, it vibrates like Invictus, Montblanc Spirit and YSL. The bottle is ugly and doesn’t make it clear what the liquid is trying to say; not even the white Lacoste one manages that. Bright, clean and floral opening: it’s a 100% clone of the white bottle, but on the dry down it takes a more blue path. Bottle 2/10, scent 10/10, longevity 10/10, price 100/10. Ideal for daily wear, the office, the gym or casual afternoons. I love it.

It was a gift, but I gave it to a colleague. It’s a dense citrus-floral scent that is too soapy and doesn’t evolve or show nuances. When compared to Lacoste L.12.12, this Hunter for Men stands out less and is slightly sweeter. I wouldn’t buy it again.

Direct, magnetic and no-nonsense. Hunter Men combines lavender, spices, woods and a sweet base that projects confidence, attractiveness and modern charisma. It’s one of those fragrances that fills the room without asking permission, perfect for making a statement with personality. Ideal for those who want to be remembered for their strength and accessible style. In classical music, it would be a Scherzo by Tchaikovsky: vigorous, dynamic and enveloping. In jazz, a Sonny Rollins sax riff: powerful, full of intent and very present. As for colour? Black with amber reflections: deep, warm, with a subtle sheen.

Hidden gem from Armaf, as the companion said: 98% identical to Lacoste Blanc. The magic appears after 10 minutes of dry-down when it becomes identical to Lacoste, perhaps… Perhaps Lacoste feels like better quality, but you have to thread very finely. If they don’t reformulate and you like the Lacoste version, the Armaf Hunter is a safe blind buy.

I’ve just acquired it and must say it resembles Lacoste L 12.12 White by 98%. The opening is slightly different, perhaps a bit more bitter, but the real magic happens during the dry-down, where it takes on all the strength of Lacoste’s notes. Touches of ylang-ylang, cardamom and rosemary give it body and character. A blind buy without a doubt, as nobody will tell you you smell bad. Perfect for spring and summer, yet undeniably versatile. Highly recommended.

Incredible. This doesn’t just smell like Lacoste Blanc; it surpasses it in both longevity and projection. It smells 98% identical; those claiming it smells synthetic have no idea where they’re getting that, as Lacoste Blanc smells very natural, haha. I’m a fan of Lacoste Blanc, one of the perfumes I’ve bought most often, and I must say this is better. I love Lacoste Blanc, but the truth is it doesn’t last as long as before. This ARMAF Hunter has an almost identical opening for me but is more potent and vibrant, perhaps why some say it smells synthetic, but for me, that’s preferable—a vibrant and powerful aroma. People who smell it on you simply adore it. Setting aside the fact that it’s identical to Lacoste Blanc, how is the perfume itself? Well, while it lasts twice as long or more than Lacoste Blanc, I wouldn’t call it a beast in terms of longevity; at most around six hours, with the last traces fading to skin-level… perhaps a bit longer. Still, it’s good longevity for a casual perfume, whether for the office, school, or casual outings in warm or temperate weather. In conclusion, going from the three hours Lacoste lasted for me to six or seven seems an excellent option, especially considering the price, which is a steal. I see some say it’s sweeter than Lacoste, and it might be a little, but not by much; I was worried about this point, but the truth is it’s not that sweet, just a touch more so than Lacoste. Without a doubt, a very good blind buy if you like Lacoste Blanc.

Don’t let the horrible bottle deceive you; it’s a hidden gem from Armaf, an excellent fragrance at a low price. It smells delicious, a men’s perfume with citrus/floral accords. During the dry-down it becomes creamier, highlighting the woody notes, ideal for temperate and warm climates. Its DNA recalls Eau de Lacoste L.12.12 White, being a 95% dupe of the ‘Lacoste Blanc’ Limited Edition, but with a sweeter touch, greater potency and ultra-improved performance. On skin it lasts over eight hours, leaving a good trail that radiates beyond your arm in the first hour. At first it smells quite synthetic, but after five minutes the magic begins: it’s a compliment factory, super versatile, ideal for daily wear.

Smells delicious, soft and masculine, with that woody and fresh twist that makes it perfect for everyday wear. Safe purchase.

Inevitably compared to Lacoste White, but this clone beats the original: it wins on longevity, projection, and value for money.

A cheerful, floral, white fragrance that smells clean, perfect for the heat with ylang-ylang taking centre stage. Very similar to Lacoste White but with double the longevity; only I recall Lacoste being a bit more powdery. Definitely worth it as you can find it very cheap, around $25.

I work in a busy office and need something pleasant for enclosed spaces. I like florals and have lavender and iris in my collection. I found this perfume, liked its ylang-ylang note and it didn’t disappoint. The opening is a bit citrusy (but of medium quality, as is usual with Armaf). The grapefruit opening with soft rosemary felt a little alcoholic to me. The cardamom, one of my favourite notes, wasn’t noticeable. But the magic is in the dry down: the ylang and neroli flowers appear, a scent almost like a flower field, an imitation of Les Champs-Élysées but of lower quality. Finally, woody notes give it a slight longevity. Ideal for the office, daytime, in autumn, spring or summer. Best with casual wear (obviously with a shirt). Not for going to the beach in a t-shirt and sandals (there are better options). It doesn’t go unnoticed but doesn’t overwhelm; no one will be bothered, on the contrary, everyone will find the aroma pleasant. Longevity: 6/10 (3-5 hours). Sillage: 4/10 (1 hour then skin scent). Price: 8/10 ($25). Occasion: Autumn, spring-summer, day. Situation: Casual office (shirt). Scent profile: 5/10. Note: 6/10.

Unfortunately, it feels very feminine to me.

Very similar to Lacoste Blanc.

At first, it didn’t convince me; I live in 36°C weather and it’s strong and ‘quirky’, but after 10 minutes it smells excellent. After two hours, it leaves a fresh sandalwood trail that projects very well. I bought the set with gel and shampoo for 600 pesos and it lasted over 10 hours. For the price, it’s a great option.

I’ve really enjoyed it; it’s very masculine and pleasant. They say it’s similar to Lacoste L.12.12 White, but I don’t know that one. The opening is intense, green, citrusy, fresh, and bubbly. At first, it seems like natural pepper, but it’s a very pleasant olfactory illusion. Then floral notes emerge without being overpowering, on a bed of woods and resins, creating a rich smoky floral note where the flowers only add refinement. The dry-down is smoky, woody, masculine, and elegant. It’s versatile for spring-summer; except for the opening, the entire development feels warm, soft, and a little fresh. Longevity and projection are very good: over 8 hours on skin, moderate but intense projection for the first two hours, then an enveloping aura. Very versatile, for warm or cold seasons, day or night. Incredible value for money, highly recommended.
