About In From the Cold
In From the Cold: Winter, From the Inside
Composed by DL Jenkins for Pictura Fragrans, In From the Cold is a fragrance for women and men released in 2026. Its premise is simple: the moment the front door closes on the cold.
Snow, mint, black tea and hyssop open the composition. The effect is bright, green and aromatic, recalling frosty air caught in wool and hair.
That opening stays neat and bracing. Snow lends a muted freshness, mint provides lift, black tea brings a dry, comforting backbone. Hyssop draws out the cool herbal thread.
At the heart, the mood softens and warms. Tuberose is generous and creamy-white, with its characteristic animalic depth, eased by karo karounde blossom. It feels domestic rather than grand — flowers in a warm room.
Notes of old books, toasted bread and steam complete the picture. Paper, crust, a hot cup, condensation on glass: the small details of being indoors.
Underneath, Dartanol®, cedarwood and Norlimbanol™ form a dry, woody structure. Opoponax contributes balsamic resin, muscenone adds clarity, while rice pudding rounds everything with a gentle, milky sweetness.
In accord terms — amber, white floral, green, fresh, sweet, woody, aromatic and balsamic, with tuberose and an animalic whisper — it travels from crisp to cosy, finishing mellow, resinous and creamy.
Suited to lovers of bookish winter fragrances, expressive tuberose, library cosiness and restrained comfort notes such as toast and rice pudding.
In From the Cold moves from snow and tea through books and white flowers towards woods, resin and cream. One for frosty evenings spent firmly indoors.
