Iri-del by Nomenclature is an aromatic fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2015, this composition was created by perfumer Patricia Choux. The top notes unfold an accord of iris, aldehydes and bergamot; the heart reveals ambrette musk; and the base notes complete the structure with woody nuances and amber.

I absolutely love the scent; it’s a super subtle, elegant, powdery iris with a very soft, sweet, soapy touch. Yes, it is synthetic, but I still like it a lot. As an iris fan, this could be one of my favourites. It reminds me of Prada’s Infusion d’Iris, but fresher, sweeter and less soapy. The issue is the performance, especially given the price: longevity is moderate, around 4-5 hours on skin, and the projection is very soft from the start, almost non-existent. It feels like applying an iris-scented body milk, and there are certainly cheaper options with better performance. If it carried high loads of natural iris, I could understand the price, but in this case, I don’t see the justification, so it’s unlikely I’ll go for the bottle. Unisex and perfect for everyday wear. Scent: 9.5, Longevity: 7, Projection: 5, Value for money: 4, Versatility: 9, Originality: 7, Overall: 7.5
