Jafra, introduced by Ateneo dell'Olfatto in 2026, is a woody oriental for women and men created by nose Jessica Sofiatti.
Fig foliage and sparkling citrus lead into a heart of date, myrrh and coffee, before settling on frankincense, amber and woods.
Up top, fig leaf meets bergamot and sharp lime. The effect is verdant and airy, with a fresh spiced character that lightens the oriental register and lends an almost garden-like brightness.
At the heart, myrrh and dates are joined by iris and coffee. The date note supplies a ripe, honeyed sweetness, myrrh contributes a soft balsamic richness, and iris alongside coffee tempers it with powder and roast.
The base features olibanum incense, amber, musk and cedar. The frankincense suggests pale resin rather than thick smoke, amber lends roundness, and cedar with musk provides a tidy, woody underpinning.
The overall accords are amber, sweet, green, fresh spicy and balsamic. Sweetness never quite takes over, because the green and resinous threads remain present throughout.
Conceived as a unisex offering for 2026, Jafra reflects Sofiatti's measured approach: distinct ingredients, orderly development, and warmth kept in check by freshness.
