  • What a beautiful amber liquid and bottle with its tones… But intense? Nothing. Barely do I apply it, the floral touch is curious, it smells like a Dior Homme flanker, iris, violets and some tonka bean vanilla… cardamom? I don’t feel it. So what? It’s a reformulation. Another fragrance copying another from a different house. Intense? No, weak and scarce. Very beautiful bottle!

  • What a lovely amber liquid and bottle, but… intense? Not even joking. Barely does it hit the skin, the floral touch is interesting, but it smells like a Dior Homme clone, with iris, violets and tonka bean vanilla. And the cardamom? It’s not there. It’s just another reformulation. Weak and scarce, although the packaging is beautiful.

La Nuit de L’Homme Intense promises to be the king of nocturnal seduction, darker and more fatal than its predecessor, with a volcanic bottle that screams passion and near-unisex notes of iris and violet. In reality, the opening is a fantastic combination that delights lovers of those florals, but the marketing deflates quickly: it’s not the body-intense scent they promise. The fragrance drifts towards sweet vanilla, patchouli and tonka bean, without the promised sage, and in the dry-down it smells like Ferragamo Black. The finish has a tea note reminiscent of Creed Millésime Impérial, which my girlfriend loved. I like it for the iris and vanilla, but I wish the opening lasted longer. The fragrance fades quickly, becoming an intimate skin scent for dinners or the cinema, not for clubs. The intensity isn’t potency; it’s a marketing trick to make you buy again. Although the system seeks quick fixes, this perfume has a fine and exquisite aroma in its initial phases. Scent: 8/10 opening / 6.5 dry-down. Trail: 4/10. Longevity: 4.5/10. Versatility: 6.5/10.

  • La Nuit de L’Homme Intense promises to be the darkest and most seductive version of the original, with a volcanic bottle that shouts fatal passion. In practice, the opening is beautiful, ideal if you love iris and violet, a fantastic blend. But the marketing fails: it’s not intense or potent, not even body-level. The scent becomes sweet and boring with vanilla, patchouli and tonka bean, without the promised sage. The dry-down recalls Ferragamo Black and the finish Creed Millésime Impérial. My girlfriend loves it, I do too, but the longevity is poor, like a skin scent for intimate dinners. The perfumery system just wants you to buy it again quickly. It’s a fine and exquisite aroma at first, but disappointing in performance. Scent: 8/10 opening, 6.5/10 dry-down. Trail: 4/10. Longevity: 4.5/10. Versatility: 6.5/10.

  • I don’t know why people vote for such poor performance on this perfume. It lasted hours on me, although always in moderation. The scent is fairly average. The first hour seems fresh, like sage as it says, but I notice it more as chemical. Then as it dries, the balsamic part remains with powdery touches, all with a sharpness and quality that leave much to be desired. The worst part is that in stores they treat you as if you were testing a fan of paradisiacal scents, when there is more facade than substance. What a pity, truly.

  • It’s the first YSL fragrance that stands out to me and competes for the top spots. It’s beautiful, masculine, elegant, and clean. Excellent. It resembles Prada Homme Intense a lot; the Prada version is more bitter with similar intensity, perhaps slightly less, whereas the YSL one is sweeter when drying down and has a vanilla note at the end. The iris with tonka bean is very similar in both, although in YSL the iris predominates while in Prada it’s the tonka. A difficult choice. Perhaps the issue is the price: I can’t find the YSL version for less than 90€ for 100ml, which is a rip-off. Both have a limited trail; if I have to choose, I’d go for Dior Homme or Prada.

  • @Leonardo Hahaha, I’ve bought several blindly from Jeremy and they haven’t let me down, but these two YSL reviews are from years ago. In the case of L’INTENSE, I didn’t think it had already been reformulated.

  • I bought L’INTENSE blindly from Jeremy Fragrance, just like the EDT, both in 2021. With L’INTENSE, I already had an idea based on the DNA of the previous version and that iris which stands out so much in Dior Homme, but here it smells cosmetic. Perhaps the new bottles are victims of the reformulations. Last night at 9:30 p.m. I applied EDT to one arm and L’INTENSE to the other; by 7 a.m. with some effort, I could barely detect the EDT. I applied it to my neck, chest, back, and elbows, and now at 7 a.m. it smells almost nothing, except on the chest through the t-shirt. It’s not worth spending what this line costs; there are options at half or a third of the price, such as Ferragamo F Black, Givenchy Gentleman Cologne, or SF Acqua Essenziale, which last much longer. It smells good, but when buying perfume, longevity and projection matter. I won’t be buying them again.

  • I also own the classic L’Homme EDT, L’Homme SPORT, L’Homme LIBRE, and L’Homme ULTIME. Of the six bottles I have from this YSL house, I’d rank the discontinued LIBRE above the rest, and I believe ULTIME is up there too. Both last long and project well. I don’t see the reason for the hype around the Y line from YSL. To my nose, they are very sharp, synthetic, and expensive scents. It seems I’m a HATER of YSL.

  • @Leonardo Be patient with fragrances. In the Y collection from YSL, I must confess I tried one in a store and adored it, so I bought the flanker EAU Fraiche (online) and wow, it lasts and projects better than many EDT INTENSEs. In my opinion, the EDP comes next. I haven’t tried the PARFUM and the EDT is dispensable. I’ll revisit my thoughts on the L’HOMME and LA NUIT DE L’HOMME profiles.

  • What a rich and comforting scent; I was absolutely blown away. However, it’s currently sweltering here with temperatures over 40 degrees, so I haven’t worn it. If the weather weren’t so hot, I’d wear it every day…
