Ladano… so the first time I caught a whiff of it, not on my skin but in the trail left by a friend, I just thought WOW. It smells incredible. After trying the discovery set and a bit more, I finally decided to wear it on my own skin. While all of them are excellent in their own right, Ladano evokes something distinct in me, and I believe that is precisely the pinnacle for a collector: the infatuation, that state where you think of nothing else but the sheer bliss of feeling aromatically complete. It’s a parade of notes: a shy grapefruit and a bitter orange quickly give way to a trident of sage, lavender, and soft carnation, which intertwines with the labdanum and the base notes. It delivers a balanced sweetness, a distinctive scent that gives me the sensation of ‘smelling like no one else,’ simply spectacular. Top-tier performance, wonderful trail. Ideal for dates and night outs, with elegant character. You must try it if you’re looking to surprise yourself with new proposals.

This perfume is wonderful. It was my first Maese Pau after the discovery set, which I highly recommend because all his compositions are delicious. I liked them all, but this is the one with which I identify most. Discovering the collection and having it at home is a luxury and immense pleasure. Be warned: they all smell good and have something distinct; it’s a wonderful collection and the only discovery set worth the while. Judging by the notes, I imagined Ladano for masculine tastes, but absolutely not; anyone benefits from this delicious potion to which I’ve become addicted. It’s a gummy resin syrup you could drink: sweet, deep, slightly dry (reminds me of beeswax or cocoa powder), with a bright touch from the petit grain and grapefruit. A good and singular conjunction, a masterpiece. It conveys to me an intimate pleasure, an invitation to be with myself, serene and receptive. I use it for quiet reflection and for work. It’s ambivalent across seasons and spaces; I plan to use it a lot. I feel incredibly comfortable with it, bringing me temperance, taste, and confidence. It is an identity that proclaims ‘you can trust me, I offer a safe space of comfort, where reign serenity, kindness, wisdom, and knowledge’. I am the haven of tranquillity and elegance you carry within, and besides, you smell so good I could eat you. Because you are healthy inside, so natural you could drink you. Like all of Maese Pau, the high quality of ingredients separates this art from conventional niche perfumes. Recently I smelled perfumes from other brands and they seemed flat; the molecule captures a scent but does so like a photocopy, without nuances. These have at least four dimensions. The more you know them, the more you like them, and the less you like the others you used to prefer. That’s how it is, for a refined audience. Thank you for your legacy. PS: For those interested in longevity, I emphasise it lasts more than 12 hours, lingering on clothes and skin. High performance and a bubble around you. You perceive it continuously.
