Excellent, the best of the new releases.
I have tested this modern aquatic and summery fragrance for several days, and it is quite addictive. The opening is weak, very aquatic, and barely spiced, but soon that combo of tonka and almond appears, reminiscent of the first L’Homme Ideal, while the neroli balances the composition, putting a stop to the bean and reaffirming its masculinity. A very refreshed patchouli begins to emerge, ending up having a lot of prominence as it dries. The vetiver and spices contribute their point without clearly standing out. Again, a semi-formal sport flanker that maintains the essence of its older brother. I like that gourmand accord but not too sweet, with that balanced, masculine, and elegant almond. That distinguishes it from other fresh summer aquatics, besides dispensing with ambroxan, ambergris, marine notes, calone, and even citrus. It does not perform badly; I would say average, and it has very good longevity. Today I wore little, but after a swim in the pool, it was still there, clearly revived. It has been liked a lot and several people said it smelled great. This summer, aquatic patchouli is what is in: Guerlain, Bvlgari, Cool Water… personally, this is the one I have liked the most. Recommended, 7.5/10. P.S.: I did not know if the one in the advertisement was Kortajarena or Cara Delevingne in drag, haha.
I’ve worn this modern aquatic summer scent for several days and it really hooks you. The opening is light, very aquatic and barely spiced, but soon that tonka and almond combo appears, reminiscent of the original L’Homme Ideal, while the neroli balances the composition, keeping the tonka in check and reaffirming its masculinity. A very fresh patchouli starts to emerge, taking centre stage as it dries down. The vetiver and spices add their touch without standing out clearly. Again, a semi-formal sport flanker that maintains the essence of its older sibling. I also like that gourmand accord but it’s not too sweet, with that balanced, masculine and elegant almond. That sets this perfume apart from other fresh aquatic scents, plus it lacks ambroxan, ambergris, marine notes, calone… (and even citrus). It performs decently, I’d say average, and has very good longevity. Today I wore little of it, but after a swim in the pool, it was still there, clearly revived. I liked it, I want it for my collection.
After trying countless fresh fragrances for spring or summer, this is at the top of the exquisite. It has an addictive scent. It’s not one of the best for longevity, but wearing it gives such a pleasant sensation that it puts a smile on your face. I perceive it as very citrusy, with bitter orange. I can’t quite appreciate the almond. The bottle is a work of art, classic and beautiful. Above all, I find it very original with no similarities so far. I give it a 7.5; it would be an 8 if it were more long-lasting and had greater sillage. But honestly, I tried it and fell in love. Thumbs up.
L’Homme Ideal Sport is fruity, aquatic and woody, easy to wear because it lacks complexity. The opening is aquatic and fruity; I detect citrus, perhaps neroli, and a constant almond note. It doesn’t evolve much, except that as it dries down it feels more woody without the almond disappearing. It’s the most casual and youthful version of the line; I found the others better suited to more formal and mature groups. Of the four versions, it seems the least interesting and most generic. It reminds me of other fragrances; sometimes I even think it smells like X or Y. The bottle looks nice with that blue. In my test it lasted about eight hours, little more, and the projection is low. Overall it wasn’t bad, though not essential.
L’Homme Ideal Sport is a fruity, aquatic, and woody fragrance that is super easy to wear as it doesn’t complicate anything. It starts fresh and fruity; I detect some citrus, perhaps neroli, and that almond note which is the signature of the whole line. It evolves very little, only becoming more woody at the end without losing the almond. It is the most casual and youthful in the family, whereas the others seem more suitable for formal and mature people. Out of the four versions, it is the least interesting and most generic; it brings me memories of other scents and sometimes I think it smells like X or Y. That said, the blue bottle looks beautiful. In my test, it lasted about eight hours with low projection. Overall, it is not bad, although not essential.
From the very start of L’HOMME IDEAL SPORT, quality is evident. Perhaps Guerlain, like Chanel or Dior, are no longer the designers of old, but those who have, have kept. It is sporty, citrusy, fresh, aquatic and everything that can be associated with summer, sea and sun. It has a Mediterranean air thanks to the almond, neroli and coumarin. Blue beaches, sun and light. The almond is sweet, not bitter as in AQVA AMARA by Bvlgari, nor as prominent. It feels shy and discreet, like many Guerlain products. They dislike intrusives or overwhelming scents; they work on exquisiteness and aura. The neroli adds freshness, air and citrus sweetness. The coumarin, a plant metabolite, gives tones of cut grass, almond or spices; here I believe it is a blend, with the herbaceous notes predominating. Overall tone: fresh, citrusy, herbaceous and a little spicy. High quality. I have not found a single cheap Guerlain. The same happens with Chanel or Dior. You may like or dislike their latest launches, but that touch of distinction in their packaging always remains. Probably the same with ROJA, AMOUAGE, CREED, CHRISTIAN, MONA DI ORIO and niche houses, but I, wretched me!, due to budget constraints, have not been able to buy, except for samples or sneak trials without the lady on duty giving me a piece of her mind. The world is like that and there are almost always ladies in perfumeries; gender equality has not arrived except in rare occasions. Has anyone seen a young gentleman at the Chanel, Lauder or Dior stand in El Corte Inglés? The dry down is closer to herbaceous vetiver, much more vetiver than the one in VETIVER by Guerlain. I even believe there is a ‘guerlinade’, that mythical touch of tonka bean, which wraps it with a French dressing room tone and chic. Moderate trail, medium longevity, high quality and exquisite aroma. It can be used by the whole family, from grandparents to babies. It is one hundred per cent unisex and suits any season. Elegant, discreet and clean.
Very interesting, friends. It delivers on its sporty premise: simple, pleasant, unobtrusive, elegant and well-made (according to my humble nose). A light pepper opening softened by classic hazelnuts, with a fresh, soapy and mentholated base. The cheerful notes come from the heart of orange blossom and spices, drying down to patchouli, vetiver and refined coumarin. It’s IDEAL for outdoors or for standing out; in my opinion, it needs a bit of overapplication, but that would lose its fresh essence. It has the IDEAL DNA: fresh, smooth and spiced. It’s the only one in the line with patchouli. Great effect. I like the bottle and the colour; they are simply gorgeous.
Very interesting, friends… It fulfils its sport premise: simple, pleasant, non-intrusive, elegant, and well-made (according to my humble nose). The opening is light pepper, those from the spice shop but softened by the classic hazelnuts of the line and a fresh, soapy, mentholated, and aquatic base. The citrus or cheerful touches come from its heart of neroli and spices, and it dries down softly with the great patchouli, vetiver, and the refinement of coumarin. It is IDEAL for outdoor activities or if you want to stand out; in my opinion, you have to overapply, but you would lose its fresh and soft essence. It has the IDEAL DNA, but fresh, smooth, citrusy, and spiced. OF the line, it is the only one containing patchouli, a great effect. I like its bottle and colour, they are beautiful.
It fulfils its objective: to be pleasant during sports activities, nothing more. It is an aquatic patchouli, somewhat generic, with simple pretensions. I detect a vetiver note that does not fit the harmony, but the spices give it a younger touch. Sillage and projection are soft on my skin; I bought this this summer and it never had any sillage, despite the heat. In the Sport version, I prefer the Issey Miyake one. It is a simple fragrance for personal enjoyment. I expected more complexity because it is from Guerlain, but this house lately does not take risks and presents unoriginal fragrances. We need to pat it on the back to make it surprise again as it used to.
Hits its target: pleasant for sports. It’s an aquatic patchouli, somewhat generic with simple pretensions. I detect a vetiver that doesn’t quite fit the harmony, but the spices give it a youthful touch. The trail and projection are soft; this summer it never had any trail despite the heat. I prefer the sport version by Issey Miyake. It’s simple and for personal enjoyment. I expected more complexity, as Guerlain lately isn’t taking risks and presents unoriginal fragrances. It needs a pat on the back to surprise us again as it once did.
It sounds familiar. Short longevity and weak projection, what a pity! Do I love it? Yes, enormously. It’s fresh, youthful, and pleasant, with that touch from the line I prefer over the overrated Cologne. Is asking for six hours of longevity too much? Projection and longevity should be requirements, not privileges. The Guerlains are original but almost all fail on longevity and have a badly earned reputation.
To me, it smells like Guerlain’s ‘Sauvage’ version. The drawback is that it clings too much to the skin and lacks body. If it had better projection, I’d rate it above Dior’s, as the scent is more sophisticated and possesses the ideal DNA for the entire line.
Finally got to try it properly today; I loved the scent. As mentioned elsewhere, it’s the blue fragrance option from the house, very, very, very similar to Coach for Man but more subtle. It smells extremely clean, not a sharp perfume but rather a creamy, soapy, almond scent. I think it’s a good option for a casual seducer, a decent choice, but I believe you need to use it generously.
Almonds, neroli, fresh, clean, slightly sweet, and seductive. I tested it in sports venues and it works wonderfully; it is an interesting, rich, and fresh proposal with a body thanks to the almond, which gives a great image for everyday wear. If you are training or doing your daily things, that half-fresh almond with slightly sweet neroli is pure bliss. That said, apply several sprays because it is not a bomb in terms of projection and longevity, but its particular aroma stands out and is very pleasant to wear.
Almonds, Neroli, fresh, clean, slightly sweet, seductive. I tested it as the name suggests in sports settings and must say it works wonders. What an interesting proposal; it’s very rich and fresh with an almond body that’s super pleasant, giving a good image for daily life. You’re training or doing your daily activities and this half-fresh almond with slightly sweet neroli hits you, and it’s glorious. That said, apply several sprays, as it’s not a bomb in terms of projection and longevity; nevertheless, its particular scent stands out. It’s very pleasant to wear.
Just been discontinued… what a pity!
Just acquired; I thought I couldn’t get any more, but there are still some left. The opening is light, of course; it’s not the best in the line, lacks significant sillage, and has average longevity. If you’re a collector, fine, but if not, it’s not worth it at the current price. I got a tester for 23€, so for me, it was worth it.
I love it. One of my favourites for summer. I don’t understand why it wasn’t liked so much; it must be those people who want to smell like everyone else who criticise it 🤔. If you want to be different and smell distinct in summer, this is your perfume. Excellent quality, as with the whole Ideal line. Guerlain at its commercial best.
Its longevity is very good, despite being a sport fragrance. The scent is exquisite, ideal for working out or on hot days. Its only weak point is the sillage, which is understandable given the concept it was created for, but I would have liked a bit more projection, not just 30cm.
As a flanker of L’Homme Ideal, this Sport version stays in the doorway; while it maintains a certain relationship with the parent scent, it has its own distinct point. I can’t imagine a more sporty yet classy fragrance than this, making it clear that ‘sport’ doesn’t mean it’s for working out. Ideal for a morning or afternoon in a tourist spot or seaside boulevard, pleasant for a date, for the office, or as your signature scent. It lasts over 7 hours on skin with a fair but perceptible projection; it doesn’t aim to be a beast mode as it doesn’t behave like one on my skin. Yes, it lasts a full working day. Although it doesn’t project after 1h30-2h, it remains perceptible up close, almost like a second skin. As mentioned, it has slight touches of the original: at first, a somewhat unusual opening due to the citrus and almonds causing a quick flashback, then the aquatic notes come to the fore, bringing great freshness without falling into the cliché of a blue fragrance. It has enough character to differentiate itself, making the combination completely addictive. Perhaps carrying a small decant is what could redeem this fragrance, because the elegance, character, presence, and versatility, accompanied by excellent longevity, mean this flanker has enough to defend itself. Longevity: 8 hours. Projection: moderate to low. Final rating: 9.
In my opinion, it’s just another one that smells exactly like L’Homme Ideal Cologne. That’s all there is to it. It’s like the one that replaced the original and nothing more. There’s nothing to compare. The same subtle almond aroma as the Original.
A truly exquisite fragrance, my second favourite in the L’Homme Ideal line (the first is Extreme). Super versatile; I wear it in heat and cold, day and night, and it works every time. It’s one of the best designer blue fragrances, a unique aquatic scent compared to the rest of the market. Yes, I recommend trying it first, not because of the smell, but because longevity varies from person to person and it’s pricey. Now it’s something of a hype due to being discontinued and hard to find. In my case, it lasts about 8 hours, though its projection is somewhat inconsistent: sometimes it’s barely noticeable, other times it projects quite well.
Bought blind after reading reviews, looking for a branded sport scent. Compared it with Dior Homme Sport or Chanel Allure Homme Sport and chose this one; I’ve never been happier. In my opinion, it outshines the others in aroma, boasting fantastic quality ingredients. The opening left me speechless: aquatic and almond, a combination I never thought would work with a spiced base. The neroli is subtle, with a sweet, herbaceous coumarin taking the lead. Incredible; for me, it’s the best in the line alongside the original. Scent 9, longevity 7, sillage 7, value for money 10 if you can find it, as it’s discontinued.
It was a blind purchase after reading several reviews. I wanted a sport fragrance from a well-known house and, after considering Dior Homme Sport or Chanel Allure Homme Sport, I decided on this… and what a hit. In my opinion, it outshines the others in scent, with fantastic ingredient quality. The opening left me amazed: aquatic and almond-like; I never thought both notes would blend so well with a spiced base. The neroli has a timid presence, letting a sweet and herbaceous coumarin stand out more. Incredible; for me, it is the best in the line alongside the original. Scent 9, longevity 7, sillage 7, value for money 10 if you can find it as it is discontinued.
Very rich fragrance that I loved from the first day, fresh, masculine, elegant, wow, you need to try it, it is an ace up the sleeve. In outdoor environments, it stands out; the sillage is soft but fresh to the max. If you like it as I do, you will want to wear it daily and forget some of the ones you have around in heat times.
Fantastic option for daily wear that offers much more than its name suggests. Despite its surname ‘Sport’, I understand this perfume as something sober, neutral, clean, soapy, and even elegant. This fragrance will not look out of place neither on a beach afternoon nor at an office meeting; in my opinion, it is a Swiss army knife for every season and daytime occasion (for evening or social events, there are better fragrances, certainly). I note that I do not feel it as a simple fresh summer perfume; rather, I would say it does not shine for absolute freshness either, as it offers much more than that (when I look for something very fresh, I reach for Pure Cologne, Eau Issey, Chrome by Azzaro, or Bulgari PH Extreme, or similar). This is the reason why I see it as ideal as a daily perfume for every season when you seek something clean, masculine, and sober; at least that is the use I make of it and to say it never fails. A perfume I understand as more mature than youthful, and whose performance is average for today. An option that is not mass-produced that will give you a plus of distinction by taking you out of the ‘trend’ or ‘mainstream’. It looks like it will stay in my collection for a very long time, by means of discontinuation.
Fantastic option for everyday wear that offers much more than its name suggests. Despite ‘sport’, I see it as sober, neutral, clean, soapy, and even elegant. It never fails, whether at the beach or in the office; it is a Swiss Army knife for all seasons and daytime occasions (there are better options for the evening). I do not perceive it as a simple summer fresh scent; in fact, it does not shine for absolute freshness, offering much more (if I am looking for something very fresh, I use Pure Cologne, Chrome by Azzaro, or similar). That is why I see it as ideal as a daily scent in any season when you seek something clean, masculine, and sober, and it never fails. I see it as more mature than youthful, with average performance. It is an option that is not overly mass-produced, which gives you distinction and takes you out of the ‘trend’. I think I will keep it in my collection for a long time, even if it is discontinued.
It is a fresh fragrance with the characteristic almond touch of the brand… I love using it in my daily life and it is different from typical blue fragrances thanks to that almond touch. I recommend it with my eyes closed.
In my opinion, based on experience, if you wear this fragrance, I do not think someone around you will have the same scent; it is simply a scent that distinguishes you. Fresh, for hot days, sun, beach; yes, with class. If you have a woman who dares to ask what you are wearing, because you smell so good, this is surely one of those perfumes they love. It has happened to me with this fragrance. Not to mention that it is a scent one enjoys greatly because, as I said, it is not common. I recommend it.
Hello, good afternoon. I prefer one in my collection, already discontinued. Aquatic scent accompanied by some deliciously natural almonds, then fresh spicy and neroli notes develop, with some citrus like lemon swirling with a fresh vetiver and woody aroma, and there is tonka. A delicious scent. Do not ask for much projection or great sillage; it is a fragrance that accompanies when you are hugged or kissed. I love that, yes. Scent and quality 8/10, Sillage 6/10, Projection 6/10.
Poor performance. This flanker has gained much fame alongside the L’Homme Idéal family. It is pleasant, standing out among the blues with its characteristic notes, elegant, discreet, and agreeable, but with very poor performance. It stays very close to the skin; for me, it is barely perceptible and I find it difficult to distinguish the notes. If you like fragrances with a strong presence, that make you stand out, and that are long-lasting… this is not it.
I love the L’Homme Idéal line; almost all are incredible, but this Sport does not like it at all. It is a strange fragrance, like a perfume and a cologne at the same time, everything and nothing. Almond is usually warm, so although it is neroli and aquatic, I do not like the almond here. I know it is the star of the collection, but they could have created this in another way. Neroli, vetiver, patchouli, spices, tonka bean… it is a nonsensical perfume. The scent is good, but for a sports fragrance, I do not feel it is fresh; it even makes me dizzy in the heat and highlights little in the cold, so I see no time of use. It has moderate sillage and good longevity, but I am not surprised they discontinued it.
L’Homme Idéal Sport is a fantastic fragrance. Among the blues, it stands out from the rest. Many will say it is generic, but not at all. It is pure class: aquatic, fresh, radiant. One of my summer favourites. That touch of almond gives it an unparalleled plus to any blue, with a quality on another level. Perfect for summer days; on my skin, it lasts spectacularly, projecting for over 3 hours and lasting between 8 and 10 hours. Unfortunately discontinued; perhaps Guerlain knew exactly how to do it before they liquidated it at incredible prices before it disappeared, and now they keep new launches at almost niche prices (100-120 euros). If you can, do not hesitate; it is a marvel. Buy blind, no problem. This enchants anyone. 10/10.
I find it a very elegant fragrance, fresh due to the white flowers and exquisite thanks to the amaretto-almond note which makes it unique. The performance is very good for an EDT; without a doubt, it is the best purchase I have made.
Hello everyone. Despite the detractors, L’Homme Idéal Sport is a triumph in my opinion. It is a flanker that, although it should resemble the original, is one of the least similar. There are better blues, yes, but they are far more mass-market. Here you have a realistic almond with a marine touch, neroli, vetiver, and a noticeable sweet coumarin. On my skin, it lasts about 7 hours, projects for an hour and a half, and leaves a moderate trail that stays close to the skin; however, if someone comes close to greet or hug you, they will smell it. It is for summer/spring. I have the 2017 edition and am lucky that there has been no reformulation. It may please or not, but it is Guerlain, it is quality. They discontinued the product, so if you can get it at a good price, I recommend it. Scent/Quality: 8, Projection: 7.5, Sillage: 7.5
