Descripción

Prada Luna Rossa Sport is a spicy oriental fragrance for men. Launched in 2015, this composition was created by perfumer Daniela Andrier. In its opening, juniper berries and ginger awaken the senses; the heart reveals the freshness of lavender, while the base settles on the warmth of vanilla and tonka bean.

Shopping at the mall with a new launch is a disaster. Sales assistants swarm you with little slips of paper and threaten to douse you in fragrance. This time it’s Prada Luna Rosa Sport, and the name doesn’t suit it at all. Usually, ‘Sport’ scents are citrus or fougères that stay fresh with sweat, but this is a sweet, outrageous oriental that I don’t think will work well with athletic perspiration. It’s floral, sweet and spicy; lavender blended with vanilla and tonka makes it very sweet, while juniper berries give it a fruity masculine touch that on my skin tastes almost like liqueur, very spicy without knowing which note. I love it immensely, although it’s too commercial for Prada, but that doesn’t make it bad. I predict great success for it and it will be the new Le Male, with a dangerous resemblance.

“Smells like a rich kid,” the perfumer told me after testing Prada Luna Rossa Sport. On paper, I loved it; on skin, it smells good but made me think of another fragrance. After six hours, I remembered: it was CH Men Privé! I swear they were identical, but this lasted over six hours (without showering), whereas CH Men Privé lasted barely two. I liked it, but wouldn’t buy it for myself.

I had a sample from last year of the Sport flanker. I agree with MarcusRS: it’s not sport; it has more body. Similar to Le Male due to mint and vanilla, but it reminded me of the discontinued Luna Rossa Extreme, only this one is softer in sillage and sweeter. The Luna Rossa imprint is noticeable quickly. The Extreme is for night, this is versatile. Not much for summer, but good for day-to-night. Replaces the Extreme if you can’t find it anymore.

  • Luna Rossa Sport is sweet, slightly powdery, and vanilla-infused. The name deceives: it’s not fresh, it’s oriental with a clean Prada style. Reminds me of baby wipes. Lavender and vanilla stand out, evoking memories of Le Male and Givenchy’s Pi. A pleasant and clean aroma, ideal for cool days or night outs. Lasts 8 hours, enough for a full day.

  • Luna Rossa Sport by Prada smells sweet, slightly powdery and vanilla-infused. I agree with others: the name ‘Sport’ suggests something fresh, but it’s far from reality. It’s an oriental that retains the clean style of other Prada fragrances. It reminds me of baby cleansing wipes. The standout notes are lavender and vanilla, so, like those who came before me, it brings back memories of Le Male and also Givenchy’s Pi. The scent is pleasant and clean, although personally I prefer other fragrances from the brand. Its ideal setting is cool days or night outings. The longevity easily reached eight hours, so it comfortably lasts a full day.

  • Worn today. The name is misleading: it’s not sport, nor citrus, nor ginger. It’s a synthetic copy of Gaultier’s Le Male. Sweet, synthetic, and linear. Better option? Don’t hesitate: go for JPG Le Male.

  • I agree with Edu Lezana. Not being a fan of Le Male, I prefer this. I tried it at Selfridges and was about to rush to the shower. The Kojak bubblegum scent makes me sick. It’s not sport and isn’t worth the asking price. There are equal or better options for less. Nothing new.

I love it. Seems like a carbon copy of Alfred Dunhill Desire for a Man, which my friend uses and finds hard to get. I told him I’d found an exact match (this Luna Rossa) and he was delighted. I doubt the sport aspect, but it doesn’t remind me much of Le Male.

  • Spectacular perfume, with character and virility, suitable for alphas. If you want everyone to say you smell good, this delivers. Married men, abstain.

  • A clone that outperforms the original. Ideal for those seeking vanilla and mint without being feminine. I found it by luck when JPG Le Male was unavailable. Prada has refined it masterfully, balancing the notes for a relaxing evolution. Suitable for all women, better for day and office wear. Informal, not sport. Five sprays are enough, but it lasts longer. A work by Daniela Andrier.

Cheap imitation of Le Male, but don’t try to get it free from Puig. Smells ultra-synthetic and cloyingly sweet, like luxury brands that are actually Yodeima or Caravan. Terrible performance, lasting only 3-4 hours with no sillage. A disgrace at wannabe prices, though I ended up liking it.

  • Cheap copy or clone of Gaultier’s Le Male, the version from 10-15 years ago that I only know, so I don’t know how it goes now. With Puig in the middle, I won’t even try it for free. It’s ultra-synthetic, cloyingly sweet, and the worst that can happen to a ‘luxury brand’ fragrance: it smells like very cheap perfume. It’s as if Yodeima or Caravan made it, which have perfumes of this level or superior for €6 for 100ml. Disappointing performance, like all Prada: a maximum of 3-4 hours longevity, with no trail after the first 5-10 minutes. To summarise, a colossal piece of rubbish at a wannabe price. P.S.: That said, I’m quite pleased with it.

  • I got it recently and perhaps it is the flanker I’ve liked the least. It escapes the fresh and enveloping approach; I find it more talcky and old-fashioned. It’s not bad, but it feels very flat to me. For the price, at least for me, it fails to deliver in terms of originality or standing out as a quality scent. It lasts a long time, but it lacks…

  • Dear @Adry_slim, I’m replying in your own terms. I have no personal issue with Prada, other than that their perfumes, as a general rule, seem like rubbish to me (personal opinion). I suppose Puig bears much of the blame for bottling plastic. Don’t be a fanboy and stop hyping brands. Because of some reviews, people buy blindly and then get angry. I don’t believe there are so many fools as to not test a perfume after reading a review. You know that one person’s trash is another’s treasure. Please, leave the personal allusions and dedicate your time to reviewing and rating as you see fit.

  • Friend @drakecito, if you have a personal problem with Prada, say so, but don’t lie to people. I own several fragrances from this house and the longevity is no less than eight hours on skin; the trail is noticeable. Perhaps you wear it while showering and it doesn’t register, or you change your skin every two hours… try to be impartial. There will be people who haven’t heard of it and, thanks to your comments, they may lose out on a sublime perfume.

  • Firstly, being a dupe of Le Male, for me it is not minimally sporty. Furthermore, its launch feels out of place: Le Male came out in 1995 and this in 2015, exactly twenty years later. Prada woke up very late to copy Le Male.

  • Firstly, being a dupe of Le Male, in my opinion it is not minimally sporty. Secondly, its launch is out of place: Le Male came out in 1995 and this in 2015, exactly 20 years later. Prada woke up very late to copy Le Male.

  • It is true that it resembles Le Male, especially at the start, although the mint isn’t as present. As it dries down, they diverge because it doesn’t lean so much towards the sweet. Like everything Prada does, it has its own touch. Perhaps it’s the same as with Carbon: they take a successful formula and give it a more refined twist. Perhaps it doesn’t fit the ‘sport’ sector by definition, but the androgynous lad in the ad sailing on a yacht can certainly smell like this. It suits me perfectly.

  • It is true that it bears a strong resemblance to Le Male, especially in the opening, although it lacks as much mint. It is in the dry-down where they diverge slightly, as it doesn’t lean so sweetly. But as with everything Prada produces, it has its own touch. Perhaps the same applies to the recent Carbon: they take a successful formula and give it a turn towards their more refined, elegant, or even ethereal style. It is true that we can debate whether the ‘sport’ tag fits, as it doesn’t initially seem to belong to that sector. I am very visual and perhaps let myself be influenced too much by the bottle or advertising, but the fact remains that it aligns. That androgynous boy, dressed in sportswear yet elegant, splashed by the sea after sailing a yacht, certainly could smell like this. And although it may not fit the archetype of sport fragrances, I believe it succeeds when used as such.

  • I’ve had this for a short while now and it’s a very rich fragrance. It smells better than Le Male; although they share the opening, they take different paths afterwards. Luna Rosa Sport feels more refined and better executed. It’s much more masculine and I see it as ideal for spring and summer, especially on evenings without much heat. For extreme heat, there are better options. Don’t let reviews deter you; test it on your skin: here it lasts 8 hours on skin and up to 9-10 on clothes, whereas Le Male barely reaches 6. It’s a rich scent, more refined, with a different journey than the original (which, due to reformulations, isn’t worth it nowadays). Dare to try it; its juniper note is brilliant.

  • I’ve had this for a short while now and it’s absolutely lovely. It smells better than Le Male, although they only resemble each other at the outset. Luna Rossa Sport is more refined and better crafted, with a more masculine character. It’s not just for spring/summer, but rather for evenings without excessive heat. There are better options for extreme heat. Don’t be swayed; give it a try. It lasts eight hours on skin and up to nine or ten on clothes. Le Male only manages six. It’s a rich scent, more refined, with a different path (Le Male certainly isn’t worth it these days due to reformulations). Dare to try it; its juniper note is fantastic.

  • It resembles Le Male, but Prada is finer and softer, although it doesn’t last as long. I’ve worn it for a day and can assure you that while Le Male (bpi) seems to increase rather than diminish, Luna Rossa fades after more than five hours. I’ll keep testing it. It’s good, nothing cheap, but if you have Le Male and it doesn’t suit you, perhaps you shouldn’t buy this Prada. I do distinguish its differences from JPG; both are beautiful.

  • It has similarities with Le Male, but Prada is finer and softer, although with less longevity. I’ve been wearing it for a day and can assure you that while Le Male (bpi) seems not to diminish but rather intensify over the hours, Luna Rosa holds less, with a longevity of over 5 hours. I’ll continue testing it and review it later. It’s good, nothing cheap, but if you have Le Male and it doesn’t suit you, perhaps you shouldn’t buy this Prada. Personally, if I distinguish its differences from JPG, both are beautiful.

To be honest, I haven’t tried it. If it resembles Le Male, I might like it, but I’m writing because I saw a review by @drakecito on Prada fragrances. It’s a matter of taste, but one must be objective. Saying that ‘all Prada perfumes’ are bad is confusing. Prada L’Homme is sublime, just like L’eau and Amber. By the way, did Puig replace L’Oréal recently? I think the issue lies with the Puig house, not Prada.

  • Friend Drake, stop putting yourself in a corner. Perhaps it’s just that at 91 it seems huge and at 196 it feels heavy? In the end, it’s a matter of noses. Nobody encourages blind buying; everyone is free to listen to fanboys or haters, but when you talk about Prada, you foam at the mouth.

  • Sofisticado

I find this fragrance to be more than interesting. I tried it as a decant a few weeks ago and genuinely enjoyed it; it’s perfect for the office, professional settings, and those aged thirty and above. It smells of a barbershop, a very striking style. As for performance, I was pleasantly surprised, as it’s not common for Prada perfumes. It lasts easily eight hours with good projection. If I didn’t already own Le Male Le Parfum, it would be in my collection, though I still value acquiring it. I see it as ideal for everyday wear in the middle seasons.

  • Sofisticado

I find it a very interesting fragrance. I had it as a decant a few weeks ago and, truthfully, I enjoyed it; perfect for the office, professional environments, and people aged 30+. It smells like a barbershop, nothing flashy. I was pleasantly surprised by its performance, something not common in Prada perfumes. Easy eight-hour longevity and good projection. If I didn’t already have Le Male Le Parfum, I’d be adding it to my collection; I’m still considering getting it. I see it as ideal for everyday wear in moderate seasons.

  • FerChaman

I’m speechless regarding some noses out there; this smells like Luna Rossa Extreme but softer and more direct. It works brilliantly for me, even if Prada L’Homme doesn’t have the same effect on me. This line certainly wins my heart, so it’s perfect.

  • I find it a sumptuous fragrance, but tragically, it only stays close to my skin. I tried it at Palacio de Hierro, and now that I’ve bought it, it’s a fragrance very poor in fixation, trail, and projection. It seems like an elevated cost given the performance it yields on my skin. I’ll see if atomising it on someone else changes the factor. I expected more, especially since I also own Prada Luna Rossa Black, which gives me life for about seven hours on the skin. Anyway, enjoy it as much as possible.

  • A vitalistic, sparkling, and cheerful opening, perfect for hot summers where you’re looking for something refreshing. It doesn’t take long to settle close to the skin with that cleanliness mark so characteristic of Prada. It would be ideal if it lasted a bit longer, but even so, it’s a very worthy perfume.

  • Unique Adriano

Le Male is a bit rougher, more similar to Bvlgari Black; I’d dare say almost identical. WARNING, do not confuse with Man in Black. It’s my scent of all time and I’m 34 years old.

  • david_leandro88

This is my favourite perfume of all time; it has that vanilla with tonka bean scent, a great combination. I’ve received most of my compliments with this one. I feel it doesn’t last long on me, but people around me say it smells wonderful all day. Recommended.

  • chegadesaudade

I bought it blindly last year to satisfy my curiosity. I like Prada perfumes and found it interesting that it was called an ‘interpretation of Le Male’, although I don’t own it and don’t recall trying it. It had good reviews despite the poor longevity, which is real, and I noticed there were few left. The truth is, I feel very comfortable wearing it; it’s not invasive, smells pleasant and clean. The notes are as described, but after two hours, the top fades, leaving that very clean lavender and vanilla. It’s the easiest vanilla to wear I’ve tried, nothing overwhelming or too sweet. It’s not meant to be a showstopper, but to dress and smell good. For dates, I find it boring; there are better options. I use it sparingly for going out; my main use is for work in temperate climates. I wouldn’t wear it in summer at all. It’s a well-crafted perfume with modest longevity, but it’s not incredible nor worth $200 on eBay, which is hard to find. It’s the meme of someone saying ‘thanks for being the best’ and the perfume ‘skinny, I’m just vanilla and lavender’.

  • A good perfume for the office or on days without sun or heat. It smells nice until the end of the day and lingers on clothes. Women have complimented it. I recommend it.

  • Barras_fragancias

I absolutely dislike it; it smells like deodorant and gives me a headache. People told me it’s boring, and yes, it is. It’s not my style at all, so I wouldn’t recommend it.

  • claudio_ragni

Although I’m not an expert, it has good longevity and smells fantastic. In my case, it lasts over eight hours, and towards the end, it smells similar to Code Parfum.

  • Darkjoker99

This is the perfume that introduced me to this world, which is why I always view it with affection. It smells sweet and rich, without being cloying or annoying. Although it doesn’t last long or project far, the scent is so good that as long as I can smell it, it’s worth it.
