On my skin, incense and pepper stand out with a floral touch. As they say, it’s a rich floral oriental. It’s neither comforting nor overwhelming. In my opinion, nothing very special.
Not for everyone’s taste. At first, it’s strong, but once it settles on the skin, it’s more bearable and eventually I do like it.
Nothing special for me, though many people adore it. I tried it and it smelled divine on my husband, but it didn’t convince me.
It’s not a bad perfume, but I feel it could sound better. I only detect incense and jasmine; the blend smells somewhat synthetic and not very natural, even powdery. I never sensed any vanilla. It feels like a failed version of Flower Oriental. Sillage 6/10, aroma 7/10.
I put it on and it hit me hard. I didn’t like it at all.
I am a woman who adores Kenzo fragrances, and I must admit that Madly doesn’t appeal to me much: on my skin it doesn’t seem like a floral oriental scent, rather it takes on an unflattering smell that reminds me of a synthetic pear or apple perfume. A creation that’s not very risky and clearly destined for mass sales. However, it can be pleasant if you are a fan of DKNY fruity perfumes or similar brands. It has medium longevity and moderate sillage. It’s not recommended for special occasions; it’s more of a daily, informal scent.
I adore Kenzo, but ‘Madly’ simply doesn’t work for me: on my skin it forgets its oriental roots and smells of synthetic pear or apple, rather elegant. It feels like a safe product designed to sell in bulk, with no real risk. It might suit those seeking a fruity scent like DKNY. Lasting power is moderate with a normal sillage, perfect for everyday wear but not for special occasions.
My husband gave this to me thinking I’d try it because I’m a perfume fanatic and then hate it. I gave it away instantly; it felt as though I’d draped myself in a hundred sticks of incense. It seemed heavy and uncomfortable. If you use it, avoid the day and the heat.
My husband made the mistake of gifting me this perfume to try, as I’m a fragrance fanatic… I hated it! I gifted it away immediately; I felt as if I had 100 sticks of incense on top of me. It seemed heavy and unpleasant. But if anyone wants to wear it, I recommend not using it during the day or in warm climates.
I tried it with a friend. On me, it really stank. Very strong, extremely strong, I couldn’t stop feeling an intense incense aroma that even gave me a headache. The sillage and longevity are truly intense. However, on my friend, it looked really good, much softer and more sober, very particular. A perfume not for everyone, but very interesting for those who can carry it.
I tried it with a friend and it was madness: on me it smells of pure incense, so strong it gave me a headache, with aggressive sillage and longevity. On her, however, it sat softly and soberly, very distinctive. It’s not for everyone, but if you know how to wear it, it is interesting.
I LOVE IT! I DON’T HAVE IT ANYMORE, IT’S NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN ARGENTINA AND I WANT TO HAVE IT AGAIN. I LIKED IT SO MUCH, I RECEIVED MANY COMPLIMENTS. IT’S A SCENT I CAN’T EXPLAIN!
I adore it. I searched for it for ages and was lucky to find it on discount. I love its sandalwood scent; it’s like being in a Hindu temple full of flowers.
I just bought it and put it on my wrist. I understand why they discontinued it in the Argentine market. I think it doesn’t represent the Latin American woman, but rather a much more European one. It represents a strong, professional woman with a lot of presence. Not suitable for a macho audience. On my skin, pepper and cedar predominate. It’s a 10 for the day and autumn/winter. It creates a scene, with medium to strong sillage. It makes you feel clean and fresh, adorned but subtle. I think it suits simple outfits in neutral tones; perhaps for me, it would be too strong with bright floral prints. That’s where its name, Madly, plays a role.

I adore this perfume! I searched for it for a long time and was lucky to find it on discount. I love its sandalwood scent; it’s like being in a Hindu temple full of flowers.
I love it! It has personality, it’s sensual. Almost perfect.
I find it sweet, soft, and woody; you can smell the musk. Besides the orange, I detect pepper. It’s an elegant yet casual tone, an ideal urban perfume for the office, school, or consulting room. I’d wear it in autumn; it’s warm, but in summer only at night. It reminds me of Elizabeth Arden’s Provocative… I owned it and gifted it because on my skin it developed too much pepper and then I couldn’t stand it. In contrast, Madly is softer, more sober, and even attractive to the opposite sex. Recommended for 30 years and up.
I really like it. After reading so many negative reviews, I wasn’t keen on smelling it, but at a poorly maintained counter, even from the bottle, it smelled of dark incense, which is what I like. When I tried it with the spray, things changed compared to the bottle’s scent. It does smell of incense, just a bit less, but it maintains the concept I usually enjoy. I gave it one last chance because Kenzo with incense normally makes me take off my hat, although lately they’ve been very underwhelming. This attempt is seven years old and semi-retired; we’ll see how soon this character starts rising in price. The opening is a slap of juicy pepper; Kenzo already works it there, but here it feels a bit rough at first, yet it holds up. I’m not one of the people whose nose itches with pepper, although it gets slightly leathery, mostly due to the potent orange blossom. The incense is there, dry and unfriendly, accompanied by sweetness; the heliotrope doesn’t make it so karstic but it has a good dark bite. The dry-down is a well-executed incense, almost ecclesiastical, which is strange for Kenzo. Those who like incense should try it; the ranges are wide. Longevity and sillage are below what Kenzo used to do, but not below a Kenzo Amour, which is very soft. It has its own beauty; I’m glad I tried it in time; although it’s not the eighth wonder, it’s not as nefarious compared to their latest creations. EDIT: Luckily it moves quickly to the phase I like, because the start is complicated.
I was gifted a lovely 4ml miniature and, seeing the box and bottle, imagined something floral, fruity and fresh. Upon trying it, it was a shock: it smells of older people, nothing cheerful, giving me nausea and a headache. It’s not a bad fragrance; the quality is spectacular and the lasting power impressive, but I have to remove it from my skin. It’s a big NO for blind buying; test it first and don’t be fooled by the packaging.
I was gifted a lovely 4ml miniature. Upon seeing the box and bottle, I imagined something floral, fruity, and fresh, perhaps youthful. However, upon trying it on my skin… a shock! It was the exact opposite of what I expected. It smells of an older person, nothing elegant. It gave me nausea and a headache. I’m not saying it’s a bad fragrance; in terms of quality, it’s spectacular—the longevity and sillage are impressive and it clings to me. I repeat: it’s excellent in quality, longevity, and projection, but this is my opinion based on my tastes. It’s a very particular fragrance. A big NO for blind buys. My advice: test it first and don’t be fooled by the beautiful packaging.
I love it! I adore its incense, sandalwood, and orange scent; it seems like a unisex touch, I love it.
I got lucky obtaining this fragrance for free. They gave it to me as a gift in a store for buying two other perfumes. I had already tried it there and loved it, so when, with some reluctance from the staff trying to close the sale, they told me they were giving it to me as a gift and I saw that violet bottle, I couldn’t be happier. Kenzo Madly Eau de Parfum is precious wood filled with incense, pepper, and a light floral touch. I don’t feel it evolves much on my skin. I can’t deny it’s one of my favourites and when I read it has incense, I secretly hope it’s like this fragrance’s incense. It would be my love of my life, but unfortunately its longevity is low and its sillage is poor. But that doesn’t take away from it being a Hindu temple trapped in a stylish bottle. Femininity, spirituality, and sex, all in one.

My sister used the Madly EDT and I liked it, but not for me to wear… When a friend made me try this EDP, I fell in love. It’s quite different. It’s super woody, balsamic with a very subtle and integrated smoky note. Citrus sparks of orange rise from a dry and deep base of incense with earthy and delicate vanilla. After a while, a subtle hint of rose is perceived and it becomes more powdery. What a shame it has been discontinued, with how difficult it is to find women’s perfumes with incense… The journey to get a big, enormous, giant bottle of this precious juice begins.

What a pity they’ve discontinued it; with how hard it is to find feminine perfumes with incense… I’m already hunting for a huge bottle of this juice.
I bought it years ago because I let myself be led by the seller. It was cheap and I didn’t know much, so I let myself be convinced. A huge mistake I never repeated; I don’t give much value to what they try to sell me. A fragrance that is too overwhelming and synthetic. It gave me a headache. I have no good memories of this perfume.
Quite an original perfume. I’m smelling it from an empty mini bottle I found thrown away, things happen, eh. That’s why I realise it’s strong; as soon as I opened the cap, my hand was soaked. It’s what we’d call overpowering. The scent is special, characteristic, and has personality, which I love in Kenzo. The first thing I notice is pink pepper and orange blossom, then the incense. Immediately I know I’ve smelled it before, on special and very serious occasions. I associate it with an older woman, modern and sensual, with a sparky character, but by scent and memory, it makes me think of family gatherings and funerals (honestly). It has a vintage air but stands out for being original. The trail must be good; despite its singularity, it’s wearable. I’d like to try the EDT version, because if I had to choose this fragrance, it would seem very formal to me.
It disappointed me. It’s very strong and synthetic. Too spicy for my taste.
Coming back to the subject, it reminds me of this perfume. With all the Kenzo fragrances, it happens: it’s that oriental touch, excessive, almost artificial. And of course the amber, set with those top notes of pepper and incense. Bombshell! It was a gift; I used it a couple of times in different seasons and it overwhelmed me. I put it away and gave it as a gift. Points in its favour: good trail and longevity, as with most of the brand.
It reminds me of all Kenzo fragrances: an excessive oriental touch, almost artificial, plus amber with notes of pepper and incense that make a bomb. It was a gift I used a few times across different seasons before it overwhelmed me until I put it away and gave it away. The good thing is that it has good sillage and longevity, as is often the case with the brand.
This was my first perfume about ten years ago. I still remember it with nostalgia. Its longevity on the skin was excellent, just like its trail. Typical of Kenzo. It was an exquisite fruity scent. The heliotrope stood out; I felt as if I were chewing a leaf of guava with syrup. It’s hard to explain. It broke my heart when they discontinued it. I’ve searched for it to no avail.
What a strange perfume! It was a gift and I never liked it. I tried wearing it because it was Kenzo, but no. I don’t know how to describe it: very strong, synthetic, spiced, incense-like, and peculiar. I can’t even use it as a room freshener; on top of that, it lasts forever! And it seems that when a scent doesn’t please you, it lasts even longer!
I tried it and absolutely loved it; people always complimented me when I wore it. I used it when I was a teenager and I think it’s ideal for young girls. I recommend it without hesitation; it smells delicious.
