A top-tier Rituals product; it wears beautifully and doesn’t smell as artificial as other options. In its dry-down, although the notes don’t suggest it, it’s identical to Bleu de Chanel, but with two advantages in my view: it lasts longer (something easily achieved) and projects better.
An off-the-radar fragrance with an apothecary opening and a crystal-clear, high-quality cardamomo. It’s like heading to an Indian restaurant and bathing in a balsamic, resinous wash that accompanies that aromatic note that dominates. The cardamomo plays a similar role to that in Dzongkha, but down different paths. The dry-down has a woody, slightly chocolatey touch with a pleasant, refreshing trail, likely due to the pine. A great surprise that deserves more recognition.
An off-the-radar fragrance with an apothecary opening and a crystal-clear, high-quality cardamomo. It’s like being transported to an Indian restaurant and bathing in a balsamic, slightly resinous wash that accompanies that very aromatic note dominating the entire composition. The cardamomo plays a similar role to that in Dzongkha, but down very different paths. The dry-down has a touch of wood and slight chocolate, leaving a pleasant trail that’s refreshingly invigorating (probably thanks to the pine). I repeat, a great surprise from a fragrance that deserves far more recognition than it currently has.
A solid Rituals purchase; it wears effortlessly and isn’t as synthetic as other alternatives. In its dry-down, despite what the notes indicate, it smells just like Bleu de Chanel, but with two advantages in my opinion: greater longevity (something simple) and better projection.
This is my second Rituals fragrance. My first, Nuit d’Azar, delivered brutal performance with an out-of-this-world scent. I have no idea what’s gone wrong with this one; I feel absolutely zero projection… just a rich, skin-close aroma that fades in minutes. I’m struggling with this and it’s incredibly frustrating not to understand why it hasn’t worked like the first… That said, the scent is rich, but it doesn’t last, not even with my nose right up against my skin.
