Descripción

Velvet Aura by Rituals is an oriental spicy creation from the olfactory family, designed for men and women. This new fragrance, launched in 2025, has been signed by perfumer Grégoire Balleydier. Its olfactory pyramid unfolds with top notes of cardamom, clove leaf, bergamot, and star anise; a heart composed of neroli, star anise, iris root, and nagarmota (cypril); and a warm, persistent base of sandalwood, guaiac wood, labdanum, and vanilla.

  • It’s a rich, woody scent. When I first wore it, I felt it was a baby version of Diptyque’s Eau Duelle. They aren’t the same, but Velvet Aura tries to capture that ‘quirky girl’ (in a positive way) aura that Duelle has. It smells like a forest witch; I insist on the ‘little’ because it’s quite soft, the scent isn’t invasive, and the trail is short. Perhaps you’d want to wear it at home or for a quiet evening. It’s elegant but too timid. That makes it perfect for people with hyposensitivity. It’s a pity it’s not long-lasting; it lasts 4-5 hours on skin. If you have it and want something more intense, you could layer it with another perfume, at your own discretion, but I think it would suit something spicier or musky well.

  • I wasn’t keen on buying it, not because of anything bad, but because I’m in love with the entire Intuitia line and knew that if I fell for the perfume only to have it vanish as a limited edition, I’d feel sad. Well, I saw it in the shop today and couldn’t resist. It’s super revitalising. I know it doesn’t contain tea, but I smell something similar to it. It’s spicy, sweet, and refreshing all at once; it smells like a tea room or a spiritual shop. That blend of vanilla, what seems like sandalwood incense, anise, and an undeclared but perceptible cinnamon… I don’t know, it’s beautiful. I hate that it’s limited and I’m going to buy a couple of bottles before it runs out.

Smells identical to Tom Ford’s Noir Extreme, but with inferior quality. If you’re paying over €50, it’s better to invest in a large bottle of the original; ultimately, the price per ml is more worthwhile. Edit: With Starlight, I feel I don’t need it. It’s the same spicy family, though they aren’t identical.

  • I bought the oil, the cream, and a candle because I simply couldn’t resist this wonder. It’s enigmatic, sensual, creamy, and sweet in just the right measure. Simply gorgeous. It evokes the calm of a warm, unforgettable embrace. I already have two and am looking for more, plus the perfume itself as I know it’s limited. That is the only downside.
