  1. Delivers a potent aroma of bergamot, lavender and a hint of pepper; dries down quickly to a fragrant leather, perhaps with nutty notes. Very masculine, elegant and classic, with a vintage yet modern vibe. The longevity and sillage are decent and do the job.

  2. It’s a real turn-on: bergamot, lavender and a hint of pepper that dries down quickly to an aromatic leather with a nod to nuts. Smells super masculine, elegant and classic, with that vintage yet modern touch. The longevity and sillage are spot on.

  5. It’s strange to read that it smells like Valentino Uomo; for me it’s the other way round, as the Rituals version came out first and when I smelled the Uomo I thought it was that with just a few tweaks. I absolutely love this fragrance; I just bought the latest batch with the new flatter bottle; we’ll see how the reformulations evolve.

  6. Smells very similar to the Valentino one, just a touch less sweet. The price seemed very good to me. Longevity is not bad, though it would have been a perfect purchase with a bit more sillage.

To me the iris note dominates, even though they say it’s not in there. I adore it because it’s my favourite note.

Smells like Valentino, but less sweet and with a fresher air. The price seems fair and the longevity is not bad. It just lacks a bit more projection to be a perfect purchase, but as it is, it’s very good.

Smells like Valentino Uomo, but with a fresher, more original twist. The bergamot, iris, and amber notes fit perfectly; in fact, Rituals’ website confirms the ionone, key to that iris. It’s a linear, dry, woody fragrance with a spicy hint. The trail and projection last for the first two hours, and on skin it holds up for eight hours without fail; even at 24 hours, it’s still noticeable. In-store, it costs around €70 for 100ml, and its only drawback is that online deals are rare, but the price is on par with Valentino or Dior. Why recommend it? Reduced ingredients, high quality, and without those dangerous chemicals found in the originals (according to INCI). Add to that excellent longevity, and it’s ideal for iris lovers or Valentino fans. Adios!

An interesting scent reminiscent of Valentino Uomo. It has few declared notes: amber, musk, and white pepper (the latter only in the opening, adding warmth and sensuality), but all are present and create a broader impression. It’s a good overall job, though it fades in intensity after a few hours, which is common nowadays. The good thing is they sell 10ml vials for around €10 (the standard size is about €35), so if you make a mistake, your wallet won’t cry. It’s pleasant to me, a good low-cost option for the quality. In-store, it was listed as men’s, but here it’s unisex.
