I hunted it down because it sounded exquisite, yet it smells of very few spices and is absolutely bonkers for the price. What makes it one of the top ten scents to love? It claims to be inspired by French revolutionary dandies who wanted to seduce ladies. Is it magic or just marketing?
I bought it on sale for that green neroli and bamboo note that seemed different in the box, but on my skin everything changed. Perhaps it’s my chemistry, but it settled into a linear scent lasting mere hours. I ended up regretting it and now it’s unused. The lesson is clear: test on your skin, don’t trust the paper. It’s far too expensive for what it offers.
