Monopteros is a perfume that certainly won’t leave anyone indifferent. It’s a scent completely different from anything I’ve tried before. It’s a fresh floral and aldehydic fragrance with that airy, soapy quality typical of the style, but with a very important spiced and fruity twist. The heart features the rose, always fresh yet heavily nuanced by its surroundings. It opens with a delicious blend of raspberry and coconut that at times reminds me of the smell of pineapple, just as it’s crafted here. Behind the rose lies a coffee note that muddies and darkens the fragrance slightly, giving it more body, alongside a spice mix that adds its own character. Performance is on the moderate side, with medium-to-high longevity and a discreet projection. That said, when it works well. If it works well and while it lasts: what a treat!
