The opening and first few hours give me a slight turn-off, and my partner feels the same, but with time the scent becomes incredibly attractive to both of us. Because of this duality, my main use for Denim Musk is to impregnate scarves, shirts, handkerchiefs and hoodies a day or two before wearing them in colder months. It evokes an English tailor shop, fabrics or a Victorian tweed suit; I didn’t live through those times, but that is what I feel.
Smelling it transported me straight back to 1995 with Montana Pour Homme. This Denim smells exactly like that. If you are over 50, buy without hesitation.
Denim Musk is the cheapest perfume I grabbed at the supermarket to see if low-cost fragrances are a disaster. And what a disaster: it smells of potent, characterful lavender, like those old hairdressers where a grumpy old man cut your hair. I recommend it only for older gentlemen, the kind who walk through life with confidence. For young people, forget it.
Denim Musk is the cheapest perfume I managed to get at the supermarket to check out low-cost fragrances. Without a doubt, it is the worst I have tried: a potent, characterful lavender scent that reminds me of old hairdressers where a grumpy old man cut your hair. I recommend it for older gentlemen, the kind who are confident in themselves. For young people, not a chance.
Denim Musk: the magic of old chemist colognes when they still had dignity, without being cheap clones for parties or the gym… Another era, with more intensity, cigarettes, alcohol and brutal, masculine scents that filled the air. To me, it seems as good as the original, though different. They only share the bottle and being masculine. Musk is fresh and carefree: an opening full of mint and lavender, a wonderful, energising, clean, herbal and slightly sweet scent from the musk, crisp and youthful. The base is even better: a strong touch of wood, patchouli and sandalwood; it smells like a polished office with new furniture or a freshly cleaned desk. It is not as explosive as the original, the projection is a bit above moderate and it does not bother anyone. The longevity is a heavyweight: it lasts many hours, does not fade but rather smells stronger with time. Charismatic, sparkling, very good. Rating: 8/10.
