Descripción
Nawab of Oudh by Ormonde Jayne is an oriental fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2012, this composition was created by perfumer Geza Schoen. The top notes unfold with cardamom, orange, bergamot, aldehydes, and green notes; the heart reveals a harmony of rose, Jamaican pepper, cinnamon, orchid, magnolia, bay leaf, and Hedione; while the base notes settle on oud wood, ambergris, vetiver, musk, and labdanum.

Beautiful fragrance where the phases are clearly distinguished. The price is high (€360 for 120ml), but it’s worth investing in. Advice: save up on three designer fragrances, treat yourself a bit and get this. Bottled versatility and elegance. A mega solid 10 out of 10.
Another great scent in the Royal Oud line. I’m loving this house more and more every day.
Splendid and elegant creation. The oud whispers while the leitmotif is a fascinating interweaving of masterfully structured chords. It opens with orange and cardamom, giving way to diaphanous, vibrant flowers: rose, orchid, magnolia, tuberose and cinnamon. A perfume out of this world. You can feel the dedication, a perfect conjugation between business creativity and perfumery skill.
Nawab of Oudh (Parfum) is from the ‘Four Corners of the Earth’ collection, a nod to London’s diversity. It opens floral with a touch of cardamom and citrus to welcome you, all over a woody, light and super-friendly oud base. It’s unisex, versatile, linear and has good performance. It has body but doesn’t weigh you down; being a Parfum, everything is softened and nothing is sharp or itchy. It’s a well-made quality floral. I’ve been using it for years and I struggle to find a fault. The ‘Intensive’ version is denser and more saturated, while the Parfum is the best because it’s fresh and floral, letting the notes breathe. The only downside is that this house has a very marked DNA; sometimes you feel everyone smells the same, like they’re singing the same song with just different lyrics. The best ones are Nawab, Montabaco and Ormonde Man; the others I like but they don’t quite reach. Yes, I’m responsible for my mother being a fan, despite the $414 or £335 for 120ml (though it can be found cheaper). It’s not a masterpiece nor does it reinvent the floral, but it does it very well, damn it.
What a rich scent… though I might have been sceptical judging by the notes, I’m not joking. This house is truly exceptional. The opening is citrusy, energising, spicy and clean. The initial intentions are clear: maximum elegance with personality. As it develops, the citrus and spices become intense, accompanied by an aldehydic accord that adds a touch of cleanliness. The composition doesn’t last long, as floral notes gradually emerge to accompany us until the end. There’s also a subtle green tone, elegant and unobtrusive. Compositionally, it has its own magic, without any jarring or strange explorations. There is quality and distinction here. Towards the end, two accords that initially seemed shy take centre stage: a woody accord and a musk. The latter, perhaps at first, feels slightly more pronounced. Overall, we have a very well-balanced scent with a perfect development that, without trying too hard, is tremendously enchanting. I love it immensely. Suitable for formal occasions and works all year round, though not recommended for the heat of summer. Unisex. It performs very well, lasting beyond six or seven hours, with a moderate and appropriate projection. A magnificent scent.
What a rich aroma… although the notes sound strange, on the skin it’s something else. This house is another dimension. It opens citrusy, energetic, spiced and clean, with that elegance and personality you’re looking for. Citrus and spices dominate the start with an aldehydic touch that adds freshness. It doesn’t last long, but gradually the flowers emerge towards the end, alongside an elegant green that doesn’t overpower. It has magic, no nonsense. Finally, a woody and musky base that was shy at first but now shines. Very balanced, perfect development and charming without inventing anything. I love it. Ideal for formal occasions and all year round, except extreme summer heat. Unisex, great longevity (more than 6/7 hours), medium and correct projection. A great scent.
It feels like the lost child between Oud Satin Mood and Hypnotising Fire. Basically, it’s spiced rose with oud, very FK style, with that Harmonist kick. Smells great, super versatile and unisex: a bit loud but in a good way. I like it, though it doesn’t add anything new to the collection.
