Like the others, it offers a fine example of the note paired with Iso-E-Super, that chemical responsible for the Molecule 01. For me, the M+ collection is Escentric Molecules’ finest. As with the other M+ fragrances, Iso-E-Super blends beautifully with the note each time, thanks to its abstract character, placing the note at the centre. M01+G features a very prominent ginger from the first spray; it is realistic and unmistakable. Ginger is an underrated, multifaceted and pleasant note, and its sweet, spicy flavour is a triumph. It is rare for ginger to be the focal point, but here it is a lovely example. Initially, it smells of freshly grated ginger root, but later it becomes sweeter, perhaps due to the Iso-E-Super. As it develops, it recalls crystallised or candied ginger, as well as sweet, soothing ginger ale. Iso-E-Super highlights the ginger throughout, typically warm, musky and slightly woody. Over time, it fades until only the Iso-E-Super scent remains, and its musky haze lingers on the skin even after the ginger has vanished. The trail and longevity are moderate.
