  Onix by Aaron Terence is a brutal fragrance, firmly within the rose-oud style. To give it a twist, the creator adds a sensational patchouli that from the very first moment overwhelms with its realism; it’s almost the scent of pure essential oil, the kind I keep in a little bottle and know by heart: earthy, sweet, woody and damp. Onix is basically an ode to patchouli with roses. The oud is very soft and in the background, not the star, simply adding a woody base alongside the sandalwood which lends it mystique and a certain creaminess. It reminds me of Noir de Noir by Tom Ford, but this Onix has a more masculine character due to its drier, woodier dry-down. Although women who enjoy patchouli in its earthy and woody facet can certainly wear it. The scent is sensual, exquisite, mysterious, nocturnal, elegant and intoxicating. It’s very striking; people who smell it exclaim things like ‘wow, that smells delicious’, ‘it smells like rose talcum’ or ‘it smells like sweet roses’. The truth is its sweetness is very subtle, simply there to enhance the charm and make the fragrance unisex. It’s an interesting brand, with prices that make no sense, but the quality of the ingredients is undeniable; the sensuality of their perfumes charms extroverted people. Onix is not discreet; this is for shouting to the four winds that you are on the hunt, that you carry fire in your blood and that you are a passionate hedonist.
