I like it. From the start, a medicinal rose due to the Oud, with papyrus adding dryness and chamomile a soft sweetness. Like the others from Kurkdjian, it seems more feminine than masculine to me. It’s quite linear. Quality and performance are beyond doubt. For autumn and winter, for night. Longevity is extremely enduring, with a heavy trail.

  • Simply adorable. It’s not just a perfume; it feels more like a dream, a journey. Perfectly agreeable 100 times over. It fits in any situation without clashing.

This is the second Oud fragrance from Kurkdjian I’ve tried, after Satin Mood, and the truth is I prefer the first; but not due to quality, but due to my personal taste. I prefer Oud with almost gourmand sweet notes over green or fresh ones. Here, the rose predominates, but I don’t see it as powdery and soft; rather, it’s sharp, supported by the medicinal character of the Oud, which, though subtle and light, is present almost throughout, especially after a few minutes. Papyrus and chamomile balance it, giving it an herbal, dry, and creamy touch that becomes more powdery as it dries down. It reminds me of Armaf’s Shades Wood, Monotheme’s Rose Oud, or Atkinsons’ Save the King. I see it as totally unisex and more suitable for night than day, though it can be a good companion in winter, fresh mornings, or spring afternoons. Performance is good. Longevity is very high, projection is moderate, even soft for an Oud, which is typical for Kurkdjian. Scent: 7.5, Longevity: 9, Projection: 7, Value: 5, Versatility: 7, Originality: 6, Overall: 7.5

  • An abrasive, dry, and sharp rose-oud combo. Nothing like the brand’s typical hyper-sweetness, such as Satin Mood, which tames the Oud until it’s neutralised. Here, the rose is extremely aggressive at first, while the chamomile makes it feel old-world and dignified. The Oud doesn’t smell very natural; I suppose it’s a blend of natural and synthetic. It’s a woody, medicinal accord that blends perfectly with the rose and chamomile. I don’t think the price justifies the quality of the notes. However, it’s a beautiful and standout composition within the brand. Longevity and projection are more than adequate.

What a classy combination of Oud and Rose. The rose is pink and fresh, with damp, deep nuances of papyrus that sounds like a spicy, green sandalwood. Chamomile doesn’t go unnoticed, adding a touch akin to cypress or geranium—a very fine green freshness. I feel more masculine due to that papyrus and the Oud, which is woody and mineral as MSJ says. I wouldn’t pay $500; definitely no more than $190. It’s very potent (like Satin Mood); three sprays puts you in beast mode. It complements your oriental options, being a fresh, spiced, green yet very oriental pink Oud. Now I understand Mr Francis’s 10/10 reputation. Great perfume!
