Created by perfumer Mahsam Raza, Past & Present by The Dua Brand is a woody-spicy fragrance for women and men, introduced in 2025.
It sets luminous citrus and aromatic notes against a fuller foundation of resins, woods and amber.
At the top, bergamot and grapefruit meet rosemary and frankincense. The citrus feels crisp, the herbal note gives definition, and the incense introduces a quiet, slightly smoky undertone.
The middle features carnation, nutmeg, cinnamon and rose. The spices are expressive yet softened, with the floral character lending roundness and preventing any harshness.
The base combines myrrh, vetiver, guaiac wood and amber. Myrrh carries the resinous theme forward, vetiver and guaiac provide the woody framework, and amber supplies lasting warmth.
The overall impression travels from fresh-spiced, aromatic and citrus accords into a warmer blend of amber, woods and cinnamon, touched by florals and rose. Development is steady rather than abrupt.
It is traditionally built but neatly finished: each stage is distinct, the balance is maintained, and the darker base completes rather than overwhelms the brighter opening.
